tell me more -- yx & jh
Proceeding from one zone to another was always a hassle and had its ups and downs, especially with the military district; that was just a pain in the ass. Although Yixing knew what he was signing up for the moment he decided to go against the government in order to pursue his own personal wants, he still mentally cursed at himself every time he was prepared to go from the military and into the free, and vice versa. He didn’t have to continue his double life, no, but he’d admit there was a certain thrill that came with it. Plus, his growing need for experimenting with new and old drugs was something that shouldn’t be tampered with -- at least not yet.
It was early afternoon when Yixing finally decided it was time to haul himself from his comfortable little nest in the free district. He had the same procedure every time: hide all the personal belongings he had in a box and tuck it away in the bottom corner of the closet, make sure all his work related contents were in his bag, and leave the place at least half decent for whenever he would return. Finally, it was time to go.
Muscular legs drive him up the stairs and out of the basement suite he occasionally calls home. As he walks, his eyes shift from side to side, out in front of him, and every-so-often behind him, just to keep his surroundings known to him -- it was the free district, anything could be anywhere. He habitually plays with his switchblade at his side, clicking it open and close, open and close, until something else catches his attention; another walking figure.
He stops.
Clicking the blade to it’s open state one last time, Yixing studies the figure just meters ahead of him. Nothing abnormal: no limping and no odd noises (or that he could hear at least). If anything, it was the most orderly character he’s seen in the free district in ages. With caution, the male proceeds, and as he does he so he notices a few more traits: brown coloured hair, definitely longer than his own, a skinny frame, short in stature -- it was a young girl. Almost immediately after the discovery he begins to dash towards her, content with the idea of real human company and terrified with what reason why she would be alone, but he’s stops in the presence of a dropped item. Quickly and carefully he takes the item -- a book -- into his grasp, the title reading, “Herbal Medicines.” His eyes widened and a breathless sigh is heard.
“Uh, hey...” he calls out a little hesitantly, “Hey! You dropped your book.”
