On October 9, 2015, the Drive Time Entertainment Show, "Engage" featured a new single, and guests in studio.
To talk about it all were the Levy's Heritage; who are the children of one of the most exuberant gospel artistes, Minister Lubert "energetic" Levy . The single is entitled “Spiritual Shout”, which was produced by Pioneer Music Group, in which Ovando Levy, who is the eldest sibling, is the executive producer. According to him, he got the inspiration to write the song from the Lord, as he wanted to give the fans something different from all the previous projects.
His brother, Oneil Levy and sister, Oshin Levy, who are the other two members of the group, exclaimed that the song is about giving praises to God no matter what the situation is; for the Bible states that you should “make a joyful noise unto the Lord”, which is exactly what the song solidifies.
Dr. Blazz, Mr. Turn and Gav, joined host Kalando in studio, for a segment in the show,
where all three persons got a chance to showcase their musical talent whether in singing or Deejaying. The Levy's Heritage, remained in studio to give their feedback on each performance, which we believe was on-point, for all three young ministers to follow.

Abnormality
Love 101's Drive Time Entertainment Program "ENGAGE" aired from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, with host Kalando Wilmott, featured one of TekMePikCha’s very own ambassadors and well known Gospel disc jockey, Miguel Campbell aka Dj Rebirth. He was in studio to discuss about his new mixtape called “Abnormality”, holding 82 vibrant tracks.
Dj Rebirth stated in his interview that he has been working on this mixtape for over a year and it has been hard work. He also stated that, the mixtape is a compact one, consisting of international Hip Hop, Dub, Reggae, local Dancehall, Revival and Pop genres. The mixtape is under the warning label, “Praise and Worship Advisory”; declaring that the mixtape is solidified with that theme.
When asked why the name “Abnormality”, his response was that, he wanted something different and not to be labeled as the average disc jockey, producing average material. For him, being different sets him apart from everything and everybody else.
To hear or download a copy of this mixtape you can go on YouTube and search: Dj Rebirth Abnormality or go on Sound cloud. For more information you can visit Dj Rebirth's Instagram or Twitter page.
Queson Brown

The vibes at Love FM on July 24th was high, as the Drive Time Entertainment show ENGAGE presented to its listeners, the new Yow album produced by Danny Brownie, which is now the 6th series of the album.

Other Gospel Artistes featured on the album are, Dj Nicholas, Prodi, Marlon Christy, Jermaine Edwards, Kevin Downswell and Chrissy D.
The programmed highlighted songs from the album like: God Again by Prodi, Gospel Summer by Jermaine Edwards ft D.A.Jay, Mi Papa by Ryan Mark, Crossroads by Jah-Lil and many more, giving listeners a taste of what Yow – Chapter 6 is about and what to expect from the Album.
Danny Brownie is quite enthused about the album and what it has to offer, especially owing to the fact that he waited close to five years to release it. The Drive Time Entertainment Show, ENGAGE, aired on Love 101FM, is always one program to inform its audience on upcoming events and also to edify listeners on trendy topics and issues.
The Art Of Vlogging was the topic of discussion, and Elle The Viner who is an upcoming vlogger, was in studio to share on the topic. Joining him on the phone lines, were two other vloggers, who were no strangers at all: Dutty Berry and also Wally British. They shared how and why they got in to vlogging and potential opportunity it gives to earn extra cash.
"The meaning of life is",
this line of lyrics is associated to one person - no other than Kevin Downswell. He was in studio to share on his upcoming event "Kevin Downswell Live at Keesing". The heavily promoted event has a decent line-up of Gospel Artistes and has as an added bonus, his book launch! Mr. Downswell shared with our host Kalando, that the book is basically about his most recent Album "The Search Continues... The Journey", and readers will get an understanding of what each song on the Album is about.
From his Instagram page, Mr. Downswell posted a little excerpt from chapter 4 of his book, and it reads; "Seeking God is not about stuff, but about him, God. When we make it about material things, we lose the things we ask for because we fail to gain the presence of the ONE who holds them in his hands. Seek God first, everything else will come eventually".
If you are interested to know more about this book, you will definitely need to purchase it! The Book launch is going to be held on the 25th of July at 5 Keesing Avenue Kingston 10, starting at 6:00pm, followed by a live concert which starts at 7pm.
For more information you can check out Mr Downswell's page - kevindownswell.com.

We were not an official photographer for this year's JCDC Festival Song Competition, but we were able to get a few shots of our fellow Christian brother Lee-Roy Johnson (aka Ancient Priest), from our seats. The former member of the famed Katalys Crew Productions and the 3rd place winner of the JCDC Festival Song Competition in 2012, got the overwhelming approval from the panel of judges, based on, no doubt, the relevance of his lyrics and his awesome stage presentation. Speaking of presentation, Ancient Priest's segment was a creative one, with dancers and a pan-chicken jerk man, who whipped out from his cooking drum, photos of our National Heroes as well photos of our star athletes - no doubt our present day heroes. "CELEBRATION TIME" - the winning song of this year's 2015 JCDC Festival Song Competition.

"Rebirth"
Fitzroy Samuels, aka Bawn Agen, held his album launch on April 19, 2015 at 12 North End Plaza, Constant Spring Road and I was impressed enough to purchase his CD on the night in question. As a seasoned rap/hip-hop fan, I had high hopes for this project based on his performances.
The stage was set....
As for the album itself, BA furnished tracks such as "Break it Down", "Call His Name" and couple others with his unique mix of rap and deejaying (or being a "rap-jay" dubbed by him). A lyrical flow so smooth, solid content, catchy beats, collaborations (IKon, St. Matthew, Survivor the Gifted, Lachanda Nicole, Neveah, Reason Disciple) and an undeniable energy with the sole purpose of telling his testimony ("The Story of My Life") of how Jesus saved him, while allowing both average listeners and rap enthusiasts to have a great time praising Him.
"They Don't Call My Music Gospel"
There's something to be said about GOSPEL rap/hip-hop here in Jamaica - it has an interesting (and sometimes, harsh) audience to appeal to (because of "traditional views" ...ahem). BA shows us he's not having it, coming full force with the Word and his stories, one track at a time. "The Prayer" gives us a different point of view as it relates to how and what we should really seek God for. Retro junkies will appreciate the samples, loops, 90s vibe and the message behind "You've Changed". For the street gospel purists - there's "Walk inna di Spirit (Remix)" featuring "Street Disciple" St. Matthew where Bawn Agen displays his versatility with his Deejaying skills.
See ... Something for everyone!
When asked what his intent was concerning this project, BA said: "Well I had a point to prove and a testimony to give. Some people don't respect hip-hop as a genre that can glorify the Father and it bothered me. 1 Peter 4:11 - Jesus and the gospel are at the epicenter of my views."
The acceptance of gospel rap/hip-hop may very well be skewed. However, it's evident that Bawn Agen is here to stay. Not bad for his debut.
This album gets a 3.5 / 5
