Psychoborg (Dream) Live Action Series
I was discussing it with a friend, but if I was to make Psychoborg into a live action series, THIS would be my dream casting. I admit, it's pretty star studded. My casting is based on who I find captures the characters in personality, acting skills, acting history and of course visuals because live action is a visual medium. Note that for some roles, make up, practical effects and a touch of CGI might be needed.
To compare how my characters look and to the actors chosen, please consult my cast page with pictures.
John Cena as (the man himself) Psychoborg!
I find he would be the best fit because of his rustic, gruff and yet noble persona. Psychoborg is not a polished or sophisticated man. He would have to wear a visor that displays his eyes, but considering the first thing we notice about his face is that chiseled jawline, he's PERFECT.
Margot Robbie as Astra Enchantman.
Her natural features are already down to the wire, but as we have seen in her past roles, she is excellent at playing an ambitious blonde. She would have to wear contacts because Astra has golden eyes, but everything else is all her inside and out. Plus, I want a grown woman playing Astra not a teenager.
Ryan Gosling as Prince Ira Volian.
Like Margot Robbie, he would have to wear coloured contacts, but aside from that, he would be a perfect fit to play the spoiled hammy fiancé of Astra.
Andrew Garfield as Prince Fau Volian.
I think he'd make a charming fit. I personally liked him as Spider-Man and he's a sweetheart in general.
Genevieve O'Reilly as Empress Rebecca Volian.
I don't think I need to say much here. We all remember her from Andor as Mon Mothma as a sophisticated yet strong mother figure.
Viggo Mortensen as Emperor Malai Volian.
The irony of this casting choice is not lost on me as he played a heroic king iconically (Aragorn from Lord of the Rings), but that's just it. He's an amazing actor and considering Malai himself acts noble, I think he's great.
Darryl White as the late Luno Enchantman.
Luno was no squishy wizard and while he would appear very often and a majority of the time, only in flashbacks, I think it would be great.
Demi Moore as Gemma Enchantman.
Gemma is supposed to be as beautiful as her daughter Astra and is the advisor to the Emperor. Plus, I like Demi Moore as the mysterious dark lady.
Sally Fields as Carla Cameron.
She played Aunt May in the Amazing Spider-Man films and her other roles struck me as her being a good fit for Carla. Sure, she would have to wear make up and fake fur because Carla's a half-beast, but I'd demand to have her on board.
Jason Mamoa as Highwulver.
I don't think I need to explain this one except that he would have to practice speaking in a Scottish-like accent.
Elliot Page as Castor Spellbinder.
This sweet and charming guy would be perfect for the kindest and most fashionable person in the series. The smile though is the cherry on top.
Kevin Sorbo as King Overlord.
I think this would be a perfect sendoff role for him and considering he played an iconic role, it's only fitting that he takes on the role of a mentor/father figure to the hero.
Glen Close as Prof. Hagela Irons.
There's no one better I can find to play the part of the fabulous yet bold genius witch of Ominous.
Xolo Maridena as Pen Ball.
I don't mind the hair being a curly flip instead of a straight bowl cut. In fact, I think the style change would translate better. He would still need to wear purple make up and dye the dye part of his hair yellow, but I think he would make a fine Ominous Advisor. A nice guy you do NOT want to mess with.
Lupita Nyong'o as Oya Agrinya.
Let's face it. She was BORN to play this role. She's bold, beautiful and bigger than life.
And finally, Ming-Na Wen as Tomara Tan.
Tomara is bookish and shy, but more than what seems on the surface. For that reason, I think this lady is perfect for her especially when you see her character development.
So... what do you think? Can I convince Hollywood to make this happen?
