Part 4 Sneak Peak
Markus, you look like you're going to barf. I'm the pregnant one, remember?" William teased, trying to bring the tension his boyfriend was feeling down. Markus was fussing with his clothes in front of a mirrorā a nice button down and slacks, and fiddling with his hair by continuously running his hand over it.
"Sorry, I'm just so nervous," Markus replied. "Are you sure now is the best time?"
William couldn't help but roll his eyes. "If we wait much longer, they'll know by just looking at me. You know I don't wear much baggy clothes. They'll know something is up."
"You're right, you're right," Markus sighed out. "Sorry. I am glad to be the one with you, though," he said, as originally Eve was supposed to be with William because he had been sick with the Scourge virus.Ā
"I'm glad you're with me, too," William said, leaning up to kiss his cheek. "Now, are you ready to go?"
"Yeah. We're taking the car, right? I don't feel right about you carrying me, I don't want to stress you out."
William narrowed his eyes. "Are you saying I can't pick you up? You recall that you were the one to give me a serum so that I could be like you, remember? I can do it."
Markus held out his hands in surrender. "No, I know, I just mean you've been tired a lot and it could be dangerous since I don't have my powers back and all!"
"Sorry, I know you weren't insinuating anything," William said, bunching the bridge of nose in frustration. "I think we can just chalk that one up to hormones or something. Ugh, not looking forward to being an asshole sometimes, so I'll try to be better about it in the future."
Markus' face softened. "Hey, it's okay. I know things will be a little more difficult, so I'll be more understanding," he brought William closer to him, giving him a gentle, reassuring kiss. "You sure you're alright to go tonight?"
"I'm sure, Markus. Now stop stalling and let's go."
Chapter 11
is now live!
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Iāve decided to continue the series
after a break. Iāll try to plan things out before writing so hopefully itās better to read. I know this second part is a bit lazy towards to the end but I was losing steam and feeling down that this second part didnāt seem to be doing as well as the first. Writing the other fics has shown me a lot.
Point is, I want to do better for the readers I do have, and maybe pull in more to give me a chance as well. I want my readers to be engaged with the work more, but Iām struggling to do that. Maybe if things are written better that will happen.
I will try.
chapter 11 preview
Thragg had summoned his soldiers, assessing their progress on Earth as he sat on his throne.
"Lucan, I am disappointed that you have yet to impregnate your mate. Explain this," he demanded.
Lucan bowed his head. "My mate was hurt by a previous human, and does not yet fully trust me. We are also waiting to add to our family for that reason," he told the Grand Regent.
"That is pathetic. Kregg has already fulfilled his mission with multiple humans. You have no excuse. Find another mate."
Lucan stood still but didn't dare defy Thragg, even if he had no intention of following through on those orders. In the short time he'd been on Earth, he'd learned so much about life and love, patience and trust. He felt himself changing for the better and he did not want to go back to being the stoic, unfeeling soldier he had been before.
"And you, Anissa. I understand it is a different matter for you, but you do not seem to have even tried," Thragg shifted his focus to the woman with short hair.
"Human men are disgusting," she sneered. "I do not wish to breed with them."
Thragg stood silently and walked down the dais to her. He said nothing before striking her on the face.Ā
Anissa's head was forced the the side. Thragg had not used much of his power, but it would be enough to bruise, Lucan knew.
"I have had enough of your insolence. Our empire hangs by a thread and you dare say no to bolstering our ranks because you wish to be selfish? Because you all wish to be self-serving?" Thragg asked, now addressing the room. "And do not think I have overlooked how you helped one of your mates when they were in danger, Kregg. You broke the agreement not to lend aid when needed, and have made a liar out of me," he gazed at his general.Ā

chapter 10 preview
āWilliam, get out of here, I'll handle this!" Eve told him, changing into her super suit and getting ready to take on Angstrom.
He hesitated, but flew up. He heard Eve yell and hesitated but decided to go to the GDA. He wasn't a hero, he had no clue how to fight, and it seemed like this was happening because of them and their files on him, whatever might be in said files. He had no clue what Angstrom wanted with him, or who the other person he mentioned was, but it wasn't good.
But those damn drones were on him. He flew high up as fast as he could go, then used his phone to get directions since he had never flown to the GDA before. William was panicking slightly, but looked down at the earth below, trying to get his bearings.
Then he had a better ideaā why not try calling Donald? He still had the man's number in his phone, and this was an emergency.
He dialed it and waited, but before he could talk, a drone crashed straight into his head, making him dizzy.
"Hello? William?" He heard.
"Uh," he said, trying to get himself together. "Donald, there'sā Angstrom. Here. Dunno why, wantsā"Ā
clang!Ā
Another drone struck him and he dropped his phone.
"Ugh," he whined, closing his eyes tightly. He curled into a ball, feeling nauseous and unstable. Where was his phone? He just had it in his hands.Ā
What was he doing again?
Another drone knocking him about, and he knew no more.
