Kat snarled at the hunter and drove a blade easily through his throat âYou Van Helsingâs are getting weakerâ she mused, taking out her little black book and ticking off a name âYouâre making my job far too easyâ she added, before pausing when she felt a presence, her fangs on show âYouâve caught me up again, Black Widow...â she mused âIâm almost impressed though Iâm not entirely sure why you continue to hesitate when Iâm happy enough to pull your beating heart from your chest....And that Fae smell, well. Itâs a dead giveawayâ she said and turned, her eyes scanning the darkness for Natasha, knowing the hunter was somewhere. âNot all too many places you can hide in Budapestâ she mused.
Natasha crept on the higher level of the abandoned warehouse and as quietly as she could loaded up her automatic crossbow, a speciality she had found for vampires that moved as fast as Kat could. She triggered the rapid fire and got herself into a better position, waiting for Kat to walk underneath a window. âOh come on, come down and play...â Kat mused, when her nose twitched at the scent of the fairy when the wind blew in her direction. Natasha took a soft breath and then rolled before she open fired on Kat, this making the vampire immediately jump out of the way and flash herself to safety- but Nat refused to give up and continued to fire. âCome on!â Kat yelled, baring her fangs and then running at Nat.
The fairy cursed under her breath and grabbed her stakes and struck at Kat when the vampire reached her, the two beginning to expertly spar and fight, surprising each other with moves they hadnât anticipated. âGive up Hunter...â Kat spat, snapping at the red head who merely hit the vampire across the face with her knuckle duster covered fist. âI donât give up, itâs why Iâm contractedâ Nat spat back in return, only spitting blood at Kat when the vampire punched her square in the face. âIâm the one they call when they want someone dead.â The red head seethed, only then yelping when she was grabbed by Kat and thrown at the wall. Nat only then throwing some more stakes at Kat before picking herself up.
âDream on Fae, you should be nothing more than an over elaborate snack. But if you really want to get to the top of my little black book. Well, then continueâ Kat hissed, grumbling since one of Katâs punches had broken a fang. âWhatâs the matter? Not good enough for your kingdom?â Kat asked. It was at this that Nat saw red and began to run at Kat, tacking her hard and then smashing through a window and out of the building, the hunter having not anticipated the move and the two now falling from a huge height down the side of a cliff face to a running river below. Who built a factory so close to a cliff edge? âFuck!â Nat yelped before holding her breath as the two bodies hit the rushing icy cold water below, the hunter using her learned skills to bring herself to the surface of the water as fast as possible. She couldnât lose Kat, itâd take weeks to track her again since the vampire was so careful. The hunter panicked and looked around seeing nothing but water and no vampire, the fae angrily slapping the water in frustration.
Katriona Hartdegen had disappeared again.
