you loved being a teacher.
you loved doing activities with the children and seeing their excitement at their finished results. you loved helping them and finding new ways for them to learn subjects they find difficult. you especially loved their unique personalities, providing free entertainment for the eight hours you teach your kindergarten class.
there was a kid. megumi. quiet, but thoughtful and imaginative. he was hard to break through at first, but now he consistently answers questions in class. you loved hearing the stories behind the drawings he created, either making you laugh or sit in genuine awe of the talent.
so, you contacted his guardian for a meeting.. toji fushiguro, a known single father. you had never seen this man before, given that his older sister, tsumiki always picked up megumi, and in this small town in the countryside, rarely did parents keep a close eye on their children.
you stayed in your classroom after hours, waiting patiently for the man to arrive at their arranged meeting.
your stomach was growling at this point as the time approached 5pm.
you then caught sight of a messy crayon box, your fingers tapping restlessly.
you had almost every art medium and plastic boxes spread out on the floor, sitting on the colorful rug.
you were immersed in the markers at the moment, making sure they fit perfectly in the box and the colors created a perfect rainbow.
you didn’t even hear the clinking of boots entering the classroom until a voice above your broke the silence.
at the sound of a husky voice, you looked up to see a beast of a man. the man’s emerald eyes glinted in the sunlight filtering through the classroom windows. he had a scruff around his jaw, letting you know he probably doesn’t have a lot of time in the day to shave properly daily. his muscles bulged through his warm colored plaid buttoned-up shirt, the buttons straining slightly with every breath he took. his raven-colored strands stuck to his sweaty forehead still beneath the cowboy hat he wore, most likely coming straight from work. he resembled his son’s features, blatantly stating ‘i’m megumi’s father.’
his scar on his lip twitched slightly. “sorry, ‘m late.”
you made a choked noise from being abruptly snapped out of your thoughts and from trying to stand up quickly. you steadied yourself before clearing your throat.
“no, no, it’s fine. i was… busy.” you finally said coherent words.
toji smirked slightly, surveying your perfect organization. “i see. ain’t those kids gonna mess yer hard work all up tomorrow?”
you gaped a bit at his observation before saying with a nervous smile. “yes, but it’s fine.”
a soft huff escaped toji, almost like he was amused at your soft-hearted personality. “should just make the kids memorize it so they can organize it exactly after usin’ it.”
you huffed as well, looking up at him again. “maybe. think that’d be a good lesson to teach?”
toji leaned back onto one of the small desks, the wooden surface creaking. “think children oughta do somethin’ boring from time to time.”
you hummed, your eyes scanning over his form before meeting his eyes again.
“thank you for coming today. i just wanted to let you know that megumi’s doing amazing, especially in art. i wanted to give you these recommendations of after school art classes he could take if you’re interested.”
toji took the paper from you offering hand, briefly looking over the list. he grunted before folding the paper. “he ain’t got time to do shit like that, sugar.”
you watched him fold the paper, disappointed with the way he casually brushed off the suggestion. you blurted out. “why not?”
toji raised an eyebrow at your protest before responding. “chores. growin’ up on a farm doesn’t let you have the luxury of drawin’. ‘pecially if it ain’t goin’ nowhere in the next week.”
“he’s still a kid.” you argue, your eyebrows furrowing. “he should at least decide what he wants to experiment. maybe he doesn’t want to be a farmer.”
toji’s jaw clenched at that before saying. “you sayin’ i don’t know what my kid wants?”
“i..” you had forgotten about the line between teachers and parents for a moment.
never cross the line of knowing the student better than the parents.
you exhaled. “i am just recommending as his teacher what i think is good for his education.
toji grunted, standing up to his full height. his eyes regarded you coolly. “that all, miss y/n?”
you clenched your jaw as well, wanting to put up more of a fight before sagging. “that’s all.”
“good.” toji turned his back on you before walking out of the classroom with no goodbye.
you watched him go, your eyebrows furrowed. your eyes scanned the mess of markers you still needed to organize. you nibble your bottom lip as your eyes scan over the different colors before finally bending down to sort them all.
you looked up immediately at the sound of papers and markers slamming onto your desk, meeting the sharp, glaring eyes.
“mr. fushiguro-.” you began.
“i thought the art shit was ov’r.” he snapped, the clean papers crunching in his clenching hand on the desk. “i told ya the kid don’t need that.”
“i know, but megumi has shown great potential to be an amazing artist and you can’t just take that away because of chores.” you argue, meeting his gaze steadily. “there must be some free time for him-.”
“dammit.” toji gritted out. “he’s your student, not yer kid!”
you wince slightly at his words before replying. “but i know children and he needs an outlet.”
toji slammed a hand on the desk, his face twisted with silent fury. your eyes widen at the aggressive action before they widen even further as he slowly leans forward, his hands braced on the desk. you could practically smell the sweat from his skin from being in the sun all day .
“keep your damn supplies outta my house.” he growled before pulling back.
you stay silent, not wanting to agree because you didn’t like it. you saw the light in megumi’s eyes every time they got to do an art project in class. and you didn’t even know that the boy could talk until you asked about his drawings.
toji gave a scoff to bid adieu before turning around and making his way towards the door.
you stared after him, your gaze hardening the smaller his figure got.
the heat greeted the man as he pushed the schoolhouse doors open.
he muttered a curse under his breath, taking off his hat to run his fingers through his hair. the passion in your pretty eyes unsettled and frustrated him..
the hat in his hand gets snatched and he whipped his head to see who the thief was.
he groaned at seeing you defiantly holding his hat close to you and your other hand holding out the papers and markers he got rid of.
“miss, i really don’t got time-.”
“i’ll give you your hat if you take these back.”
you said, your eyes narrowed.
he swallowed at your plea.
“i know.” you said before continuing pleadingly. “just please take these. you can do whatever with them, even throw them out if you really don’t want your son to use them. but please.. just put my mind at ease by pretending you’re going to give them to megumi.”
toji’s eyes widened at how desperate you were about this. he thought his stunt would have made you too scared to continue with this shit, but here you are again.
he gruffly responded, taking both the supplies and his hat back from you.
“fuck it, fine. i’ll take it.”
you stiffened, your hands hanging momentarily before straightening yourself. oh.
you thought he was going to take the supplies and throw it onto the ground, but here he was, following your wishes by placing it back in the saddlebag on his horse.
“i-i hope he enjoys it.” you said, trying to recollect yourself.
he just waved a hand before swinging himself to straddle the horse’s back.
“whatever, don’t get too excited.” he said bluntly, tightening the reins around his hands. “goodbye, miss.”
you stood in the heat until his figure was just a silhouette, hoping that he would have a change of heart.
surprisingly, the two had gotten more amiable after that experience. you stopped pestering him about megumi’s art progress at home and he stopped being an ass towards you.
and when you got yourself tucked into bed, you thought about him, just to help you fall asleep of course. you dreamed about him asking you out, taking you somewhere nice and simple. you wondered what his voice sounded like if he talked to you like it was just them. would it be the same, huskier, or softer?
he started taking time to pick up megumi up from school instead of his daughter and started making conversation, either asking if there was anything funny that happened with the students or where you got the earrings you were donning that day.
that question made you think he had a girlfriend.
toji was leaning against your desk as megumi played in the back, waiting for his dad, like always, to wrap up bothering the teacher. he suddenly broke your grading with a question.
you looked up at him with wide eyes. “..babysit?”
“got some deliveries to make tonight, can’t take care of the kiddos.” he rubbed the back of his neck before placing it on the desk. “i was thinkin’ you could finish up here and then come over. only if ya can.”
you couldn’t help the amusement swelling up inside of you at the way toji avoided eye contact, obviously shy about asking a favor.
“yes, i can.” you tilted your head to catch his eyes, giving a warm smile.
toji eventually smiled back, the small wrinkles around his eyes becoming more prominent. “yea?”
“mhm, it’s no problem.” you nodded before standing up from your chair.
“you’re a savior, darlin’.” he murmured, pushing himself off the desk as well. “i owe you one.”
you shook your head, waving a hand. “no, no. it’s fine. it’s friday anyway, i have nothing to do.”
you began to pack up your purse and he teases, crossing his arms. “no? no sweet thing waitin’ for you?”
“no.” you chuckled before facing him as you adjusted the bag onto your shoulder. “no sweet thing.”
toji’s eyes widened, just a fraction, before chuckling as well. “i see. interesting.”
before you could formulate a reaction to his words, he called over to megumi who scampered over immediately. toji lifted the child and held him against his hip with a secure arm him up.
toji then gave a small wave. “i’ll see ya later, teach.”
“bye, miss y/n.” megumi leaned his head against toji’s shoulder, hiding half of his face shyly as he waved goodbye as well.
“bye, megumi.” you smiled before letting them go, a mixture of nervousness and excitement to be taking care of his kids swirling inside of you.
the night had gone well. the kids were immediately comfortable with you given that they already know you well. you played board games with them, watched their favorite movie with them… it was hard not to become even more fond of the children.
when the kids were all settled in their beds, you waited for toji to come home.
you sat on the couch, your eyes fixed on the tv, but your mind on something else. your heart skipped beats as you daydreamed about toji again, unable to stop thinking about him in a variety of ways in your imaginative mind.
you thought of the dream you had the other night, the one where he took you to bed, covering his sweaty body over yours.. his raspy voice breathing praises in your ear…
your head began to feel light and your thighs shifted to ease the growing ache between your legs. your patience ran thin, wanting to get home as soon as possible to relieve the need.
you got up from the couch to get a glass of water from the kitchen, hoping to cool yourself down.
the kitchen was simple. there was a small wooden dining table in the nook surrounded by windows, allowing a view for the family. embroidered towels were scattered around the kitchen, adding a subtle personal touch to the room.
as you got water from the white fridge’s dispenser into your glass, you noticed a few drawings covering the fridge.
you recognized megumi’s drawing style instantly. there was no negative space, filling every part with colors with either crayons, markers, paint, or all of the above. it was scribbled, but understandable. you knew one of the drawings of a man in the field was toji based off of the tan-colored cowboy hat on the figure’s head and how he was drawn with a wide inverted triangle.
you pulled the glass back from the fridge, your eyes completely focused on the drawings. your fingers lightly brushed against the paper, your eyes widening a bit.
you whipped your head at the sound of the backdoor loudly opening, your heart racing at the sight of toji. he looked exhausted, his eyebags prominent underneath the shadow of his hat, but worked up a small smirk to you.
“hey, sweetheart. how’d the kids do?” he murmured, his voice unusually soft and not helping with your loopy state at all.
“they were fine.” you managed a steady response. “they ate all of their meals you cooked for them and we played games, watched a movie..”
“tangled?” he guessed with amusement, taking off his hat and his boots.
“how’d you know?” you smiled slightly at how well he knows his kids.
“they’ve been obsessed with it this whole damn month.” he scoffed, fondness in his eyes as he leaned against the counter. “keep tellin’ them there’s good ones out there, but they don’t give a shit.”
you chuckled. “maybe you need to give them a few movie choices next time that they might like. it’s hard for kids to try new things.”
“mm, like guide ‘em to try different stuff?” he rubbed a hand against his jaw, his stubble scratching along his hand.
“mhm.” you looked up at him. “it might be easier for them if you do that.”
he hummed thoughtfully before letting his hand drop to rest against the counter. “yea, can see that.”
his eyes meet yours, almost like he was trying to pull out anything else that was on your mind. you looked away to the drawings on the fridge before your face turned red.
“you didn’t throw out the art supplies.” you said, coughing to cover the tremble in your voice.
“i didn’t.” he said simply, following your gaze. he looked back at you, his scar on his lip tilting upwards. “thought i’d listen to your stubborn ass.”
you scoffed softly and rolled your eyes at him. “well, someone was also difficult.”
“i had a good reason.” he argued, still with a faint grin.
“yea? what was it?” you turned a wooden chair at the dining table before sitting down on the patterned mat placed on the seat.
toji sighed, his eyes shadowing slightly as he looked at the floor. “don’t wanna really get into it, sweetheart.”
you sipped your water, looking up at him with concern and curiousity. you set your glass down before pushing out a chair beside you and patting it.
“c’mon. i’ll just listen, no scolding or judgment.” you give your best smile, wanting to ease whatever worries on his shoulders.
toji raised an eyebrow, a faint smiling crawling back onto his face. he padded over to the chair before sitting down with a grunt. he rested his elbow on his knees, slouching as his other hand rubbed his shoulder.
“promise? i really don’t wanna fight.”
“i promise.” you crossed your heart with a finger, a glint of playfulness in your eyes. you shifted to face him more directly, sitting straight as your attention totally focuses on him.
he exhaled a sigh from deep within his chest as though he had been holding it in for years. he gritted out, his eyes looking back at the grain patterns in the table. “i just.. don’t wanna get his hopes up if i can’t afford those fancy art schools in the future. it’ll kill me if i can’t give my kid what he wants.. or what both of them want.”
you listen with furrowed eyebrows. “i thought you make a pretty good amount of money?”
“i do.. but college’s a different ballgame. if he wants to go to one of the best colleges in the country..” he trails off, his shoulders scrunching together as his eyes grew distant.
you rubbed your lips together, your eyes flickering to his tightened hand on his shoulder. you completely understood his anxieties. with your salary as a teacher, you worry about whether you could ever provide a comfortable life for your future children or even afford having children.
toji clenched his jaw at your silence before sitting up, his body tense. “i’m just sayin’ this just because, alright? i don’t need yer pity-.”
his eyes focused back on you as your small hand cupped his face, your thumb brushing over his stubble.
you softly whispered. “hey. it’s alright, i get it.”
he could practically feel his pupils dilating at your words. just with your soft voice, it almost put all his stress to sleep.
“don’t worry about the future. he might not care about going to the best college or he can apply to scholarships.. he might not even want to be an artist later.” you murmured, now sitting on the edge of your chair so that you can hold his face comfortably.
you used to think you’d never be in such an intimate situation with toji of all people, but it felt natural. like you were here in this moment to be this person for him.
you noticed him processing his words as his eyes were locked with yours. you teased gently. “you’re such a worrywart.”
he finally makes a noise, a scoff, his smirk returning. he replied sarcastically. “i wonder why i have gray hairs.”
you chuckled, still carressing his cheeks. you then whispered sincerely. “you can talk about your worries with me anytime you need to.”
he hummed before turning his head to press his nose into your fingertips while his lips brushed your palm. your breath hitched at the action, your eyes widening. like you were trying to memorize this moment. his breath seemed to burn into the lines of your hand before he finally kissed the skin.
you were completely speechless, your grin gone. he lingered almost a moment too long to be innocent, but once he pulled away, the air returned to your lungs.
“i’ll give you a ride home.” he said, his voice a tad huskier.
he stood up and slipped on his boots again. everything seemed to move in slow motion as you stand up as well, your eyes zeroing on the way his veins bulge on his forearms as he held the counter for balance.
that ache returned sharply, your fingers wrapping around the back of the chair as you struggled not to be obvious about needing him so badly.
“you don’t have to..” you mustered, trying to control yourself.
“get out of the damn house.” he said sharply, glancing over his shoulder with a smirk.
and suddenly you would clean the floors if he commanded it as you hurriedly gathered your belongings and exited with him.
he stood behind you as he placed his hands on your waist and gave a small squeeze. “up you go.”
toji easily lifted you like he was only picking up your bag and placed you onto the saddle.
you tensed when he settled behind you, his breath tickling your ear.
you only give a nod, your eyes fixed on your hands wrapping around the horn of the saddle. his gripped the reins and whipped them, starting the horse onto an easy strut.
the night air smelled nice, the scent of the warm grass cooling off from a day in the sun enveloping the two. the navy sky was clear, allowing the two to give glances to the bright stars sparkling.
“it’s beautiful.” you break the peaceful silence between the two.
“mhm.” he responded and when you tilted your head sideways to see his reaction, his eyes were fixed on you.
you gave an awkward smile before turning back to the front, not wanting to do something stupid. for the rest of the ride, the crickets and the horse’s hooves substituted the words that were racing through both heads.
once they arrived at your house, he helped you down from the horse before walking by your side to your porch. his hand brushed against your forearm, making you to want to hurry inside and release this tension.
they turned to face each other at the front door, a pregnant pause before you whispered.
“goodnight, sweetheart. thank you again.” he murmured.
“anytime. you have lovely children, you’re a great father-.” you get interrupted by toji holding your face and kissing you roughly on the lips.
easily falling under his spell, you moaned, grasping his face and closing your eyes. his lips moved needily against yours before forcing his tongue into your mouth, desperate for a taste. his groan was muffled before his tongue went deeper.
his hands went from your shoulders and travelled over your curves, groping your breasts through your dress. he pinched your hardened nipples underneath the fabric, evoking a whimper from you.
you broke the heated kiss, drool crawling out from the corner of your mouth. “your kids..”
“shh, it’s okay. i’ll leave in a few.” he licked the saliva from your face.
his face buried into your neck, peppering kisses and nips to your skin. his hands moved to your ass, groping it before moving one of them underneath your skirt. he moaned softly, his half-lidded eyes looking up to you as his fingers traced your slick spot on your panties.
“this okay?” he whispered, his fingers pulling your panties to tease your wet folds.
your head fell back against your front door, your eyes fluttering shut. you nodded with parted lips.
“gods, you look so fuckin’ pretty.” he breathed, looking up at you. “gonna take care of you, sweetheart.”
he sunk two fingers into your welcoming hole, sucking in a sharp breath at you clenching around his digits.
“your cunt’s fuckin’ wanting this. you act like this for everyone or just for my damn fingers?” he growled before nipping a mark on the skin where your neck met your shoulder.
you shook your head immediately, breathing. “no, no.. only you…”
“yea? just need my fingers to satisfy this eager hole, huh.” he murmured, slipping another finger.
his fingers moved in and out quickly, causing you to bite down on your hand to muffle any noise. you reopened your eyes to look at your dress lifted and his arm twitching as his hand worked you.
if anyone had caught sight of this, a kindergarten teacher getting absolutely wrecked by just a cowboy’s fingers.. it would completely ruin your reputation. and doing this on your front porch wasn’t lessening the risk at all.
you jerked when he curled his fingers, hitting your sweet spot just right. you cried out, burying your face into the crook of his shoulder and gripping his sides. he huffed at the feeling of your nails digging through his shirt into his skin, the slight pain only spurring him.
your thighs clenched as though it was trying to protect yourself from the upcoming climax. he chuckled as he felt your soft skin obstructed his hand for a moment. he used his other hand to lift you up abruptly, causing you to yelp with shock. when he set you down again, your legs had reopened from the sudden movement and he resumed his fingers’ progress.
“i know yer close, baby. don’t do that.” he purred into your ear. “want this pussy to let me know i did good.”
his thumb then began to rub against your clit, your hips bucking and your hands holding his shoulders like your life depended on it. you muffled your noises into his neck, not wanting to wake the neighbors when you finally release with a mix of a cry and a sob.
“you did so good. good girl.” he continued to help you through your high, his voice now soothing as your body trembled.
you fell limp against his body and he gave a low hum, rubbing your back. they both breathed heavily as they both slowly came back to. you whined softly into his ear as his fingers pulled out.
he sucked the fluid off like he had been drenched for days, soft sighs and moans escaping him. “taste so good..”
once he finished his snack, he scooped you into his arms bridal-style. he murmured. “gimmie yer keys.”
your hand fumbled in your bag, your haze making your brain foggy. you finally found them, trying to put it through the keyhole.
toji laughed softly at your clumsiness, nuzzling his nose into your cheek and pressing tender kisses. “dammit, woman.”
you chuckled as well, finally unlocking the door. “i’m trying.”
he carefully walked inside of the house as he kicked the door behind him. he stated as his eyes looked around while you pointed the direction of your bedroom. “smells like vanilla.”
“like it?” you asked as he sets you gently onto the bed, his hands roaming your body like he was prolonging the moment.
he leaned over the edge of the bed with his upper half hovering above yours. he cupped the side of your face, giving a small pinch to his cheek. “yea. smells like you, darlin’.”
you hummed, closing your eyes as his thumb rubbed your cheek.
he let out a soft sigh, his eyes shining with vulnerability. “don’t wanna go.”
you let out an exhale, your chest feeling heavy at the thought of him not being able to spend the night. your eyes reopened, placing a hand over his. “you have to.”
“i know. gotta handle the rascals.” he murmured before kissing you.
you melted underneath him, the kiss contrasted with the earlier one. this one was slower, reverent. a perfect goodbye and promise.
he finally pulled away with one last peck and stood up straight. “dinner next friday. i’ll get a friend to watch the kids.”
you nodded, looking up at him with a warm smile, “mhm, i’d like that.”
he smiled back, his expression fond as his thumb brushed over your bottom lip. he let his hand fall to his side. “good. sweet dreams, sweetheart. lock the doors behind me.”
you nodded. “bye, toji. get home safe.”
he dipped his head, reluctantly backing towards the doroway and disappearing through it.
he couldn’t believe that he did that. the emotionless, jackass doing all that unfolded to a teacher, the sweetest human on earth. as he rode home, riding his horse at a fast pace to get back to his children, his heart raced at the thought of seeing you next week, missing your voice already.
