Greetings! You may know me by the following usernames:
Tokoro-Tenjiro (Deviant Art, main username)
Tokoro_Tenjiro (Toyhouse and Ao3)
Aurora-Xatu (discord and OLD Deviant Art)
You can call me Tenjiro! Many who know me from Discord or my original DA call me Aurora or Xatu, but I prefer my current username personally. Buuut it's one of those things where I feel like I'm stuck with a username I made when I was 13 so... it's really not a big deal if you call me Aurora or Xatu. Tenjiro just sounds cooler imo

I also have another way less frequently updated blog where you can look at my cool custom MOGAI terms and flags: @hotpilgrimeatingturkey
This blog is just for reblogging and yapping and the like. I'll probably mostly talk about fandom stuff and video games, and maybe post some memes and whatnot. As for reblogs, I'll be reblogging stuff I like (mainly art), but I also implore you to check my likes! I only reblog sparingly as not to spam (as if that even matters), but anything I reblog will also be there as well as a ton more.
Some day I might even reblog my own art here! But right now it feels redundant to.
I'm pretty shy and anxious tbh, but feel free to interact. Sometimes it takes me a while to reply to things, but I promise I'm not ghosting you if I do.
I don't think I need to spell this out, but I'd suggest not interacting with me if you're bigoted.

My autism assessment came in!! ... In like middle of last month, but it took me a while to get around to making this stupid meme idea I had.
Predictably, I was indeed diagnosed with autism (level 1).
Also, LISA and Vinesauce are mentioned in my evaluation document and I laughed so fucking hard because, during the intake, they asked me what my current interests were and I went on a long-ass tangent about both and they had to shut it down due to limited time
Realizing LISA: The UNDONE heavily implies the flash happened as a result of Y2K makes me feel like a conspiracy theorist who just found an undeniable link between an infamous historical figure and a politician they don't like because both have photos of them standing in front of the Eiffel tower.
Only, it's a link between two games I like instead.
I was looking through some old school journals of mine a while ago when I found this: an Endless Ocean fan fiction I wrote in 2011 when I was 12!
In this story, the player character (named Sara) and Katherine Sunday discover a mysterious note in a bottle that leads them on a scavenger hunt to find a legendary place known as the Sea Castle.
... This story is extremely basic and was never finished, but here it is in all of its newly formatted and (mostly) spelling/grammar corrected glory! Also, it seems to take place in an AU? I will leave my thoughts about it at the end. Also, if you're brave enough to read the raw transcription (which has no little to no formatting and definitely no editing), it will be included at the bottom of this post below the cut.

Chapter 1: A Strange Note
The day was hot and sunny. Sara was watching cormorants and albatross land upon their ship, the Gabbiano, and Kat was in the captains quarters taking a nap. A large pelican flew down and landed upon the dark silver railing of the maple-colored boat.
In its mouth was a bottle, and in the bottle, Sara could make out what seemed to be a small note. The pelican opened its beak as if it wanted Sara to have it. She took the bottle and opened it. Then, she took out the note and read it.
"The first place you must look to is through a hallway to a room of white to find a shadow dark as night".
She read it a few times before she realize what it meant. "The limestone cave? Wait a minute. This can't be the first clue, its only a myth... I've got to tell Kat!" Sara ran to the captains quarters and woke up Kat.
"What is it?" said Kat.
"I found a note! And I think this note is the first clue to the Sea Castle!" Sara said.
"That's impossible, we've been stuck on this boat for three days and we haven't seen one fish! I think I would rather go back to being a fashion model than be assigned to the Crystal island marine-biology society!" Kat yelled.
"Maybe we could just follow the note whether its fake or not because then we could see at least one fish," Said Sara. "In fact, I think I'm going to the limestone cave right now".
Chapter 2: The Limestone Cave
"Hey Kat, can you hear me? I'm at the entrance. I think this is what the note meant by the 'hallway'," Said Sara into the waterproof speaker.
The cave was a grayish color, but soon it became as white as snow. Moorish idols, whitespotted puffer, and other small fish with bright colors danced around the cavern. Then, a black animal shot out of the corner of Sara's eye.
"It's a pilot whale! This is the 'room of white' and here's the 'shadow as dark as night'; and its pointing at something!"
She picked up the object to find it was another note in a bottle. She swam up to the surface as fast as she could.
Then she read the note.
"In a ship from the past you'll find a note that is the last".
"I know what it's talking about," said Kat. "It's the old ship they call 'The Kidako'."
"Lets go find it," said Sara.
Chapter 3: The Kidako
"Wow! Sharks everywhere!" yelled Sara. "I think I see The Kidako!"
The ship was covered In barnacles. Large potato groupers and wobbegong sharks swam around the wreck. A large, jagged, piece of pipe stuck up from the middle of the boat. It seemed to be a way into the ship.
Sara managed to squeeze through the small pipe and everything she found inside the ship was rusted.
"I'm in the ship!" said Sara.
A slithering eel came out of a crack in the wall, pushing with its head another bottle. Sara took the bottle up to the surface and showed it to Kat.
"The last task you have to take is to swim across the molten lake".
"Not the lava fields!" screamed Kat and Sara.
Chapter 4: The lava fields
"Well, I'm at the lava fields" Sara said to Kat through the underwater mic.
The lava fields were made up of constantly oozing lava and undersea vents. if something got close enough to the vents, they would be boiled like a lobster.
"I can't get across this, I'll get fried" Sara said.
Just then, a huge sperm whale started to come out of the blue and was swimming smoothly over the vents.
---
...And that was all that was written. I assume what would've happened next was Sara would hitch a ride on a sperm whale, cross the lava field, and chapter 5 is when they would arrive at the Sea Castle. Then maybe there would be a 6th chapter, with them having donated the treasure to a museum and continuing the search for the legendary Ancient Mother.
I said up at the start of this that I think this is some kind of AU. It's super blatantly obvious that this is just Endless Ocean, but at the same time, it reads like I took the characters and locations and changed some names (aside from Kat and the boat) to make an "original story that was based on Endless Ocean". Despite it very obviously JUST being Endless Ocean. Like, no question about it.
Sara, the player character, is like... Barely a character. Technically she's an OC - I know she was based off my player character at the time, which had the default shoulder-length blond hair. But she kind of just reacts to things and does stuff to move the plot along. That's it.
Kat's a bit better in terms of actually having personality, but not by much. I gave her some kind of sarcastic "I hate my job" characterization which I have no idea where that came from. It's been years since I've played Endless Ocean and while I don't remember a lot about her personality beside her fear of swimming and wanting to complete her late dad's life's work by finding the Ancient Mother, I'm pretty sure she was passionate about the ocean and didn't joke about loathing her job. Also, does she mention being a fashion model at some point or being a marine biologist, or did I add that too? Idk.
Also, as far as I remember, there is no such organization in EO called the "Crystal Island Marine Biology Society". I think maybe this implies this AU (lol btw - I had no concept of what an AU even was back then) takes place in a different location than the sea of Manoa Lai. However, each location Sara goes to is very obviously based on locations in Manoa Lai's sea: the limestone cave is based off the Great Aqua Cave, even down to having its own White Room with a pilot whale; the wreck of the Kidako is based off of the wreck of the Navier at Ship's Rest; and the lava fields are based on the hydrothermal vents that are active in the Abyss during the day.
As for the story itself... Well, I sure was 12, alright... This was found in a grade school journal. But it definitely wasn't done for an assignment. I was forced to write the dates on those, and while the writing is the same as the entries before and after, there's no date at the top of this in particular. I don't want to be too harsh. Maybe it's not fair to be critical of it at all. But it's my work, so... Here's my problems with it:
The initial dialogue exchange with Sara and Kat is nonsense. Has Sara not been diving at all? If so, where are all the fish? Why does Sara finding a note in a bottle that was given to her by a pelican spark that reaction? What even is the Sea Castle and why should we care?? Huh????
Also, the animals here seem to be abnormally intelligent, what with a pelican and moray eel basically handing Sara the clues. The pilot whale scene was more believable, but those other two? Not so much. ... Which, I mean, EO and EO2 also has some of that kind of whimsy in its wildlife (especially the legendary creatures), but I'm just not really a fan of how its portrayed here. Also, in general, this is just so... Ehh... Boring. It's just thing I liked but again. I liked EO, so I wrote my own little version of an EO adventure. Simple as. I still do this kind of shit to this day (make thing I like but again), but one could say this is a bit too simple.
Anyway, I just wanted to put this story up somewhere and talk about it. Endless Ocean and Endless Ocean: Blue World were very formative games for me, as this fanfic even existing might suggest. I thought about putting it on AO3, but eh... It's just a very bare-bones, very "whatever" story. Maybe I will, maybe I won't. Still, I've been thinking about EO again lately, and even though this story isn't what I would call "good", it's kinda neat and I wanted to share it.
Also, here it is. This is the transcription of the story as it was originally written. Every typo, ever grammar mistake, every chapter a single paragraph, preserved in painful detail... Read it if you dare.
