Her relentless experimentation and devotion to her craft have built an intoxicating palette of noise that is all at once splittingly harsh, serenely melancholic, hypnotizing, rotting and unbearably anxious. Serene Ailment bypasses your conscious mind and shouts directly into your limbic system.

The thing about growing up with undiagnosed autism is that you’re a bad kid. And you don’t know how to stop being a bad kid. But you’re pedantic, you hate hugs, you’d rather be alone than attend a family gathering, you play by yourself instead of with friends or family, you make mealtime impossible, you can’t even look your parents in the face, you lie to get out of going to school and when you’re there you complete your assignments correctly but in a way that is somehow inherently wrong. You’re wrong. There is something wrong with you and you can’t identify it or fix it. You can’t begin to explain it. You pull for justifications and apologies. You were a bad kid and there was nothing you could do to be better.

This comes after the UK supreme court decided we are "biologically male" and thus deserve to get felt up (thus, SA'd) by male police officers. So-called australia might be an inaccessible safe haven for now... but recently the queensland state government passed a puberty blocker/hrt ban for trans youth (and only trans youth). We cannot trust the labour party will not follow suit in the future - given the similarities to our labour party to that of the UK. Indeed we cannot trust the state and capital to save us. The comp is run by @rippingnailsrecords and all proceeds go towards @opendoorsyouthservice - a service for LGBTiQ+ (and importantly: brotherboy/sistergirl) youth in queensland - where the youth gender affirming care ban is in effect. I am so fkn sick of g*nocide. If somebody has a comp fundraiser for G*z* coming up, I'll give a song/s to that too.

I listened to a lot of music this year, and I am not going to prattle on about it all this time because there's too much. These are the albums that came out this year that I really liked. They aren't in a specific order, but they are in a general order (closer to the top just means I listened to it more often, or responded enthusiastically/felt really strongly about it). I have been doing a lot of radio this year, and so I've listened to so much music. It's not trying to be a definitive top 100 list, I am sure I missed some gems, but these are things I personally liked. Then there are some special mentions at the end that include some reissues that include some reworked/additional material, and some compilations/live albums as well. Genres are all over the place, from heavy to light to weird to weirder. Check things out and enjoy the adventure.

I keep seeing new examples of this website’s transmisogyny and I hate it! I am livid! I am furious! And I think it’s important that we name what is happening specifically as transmisogyny. I have not been flagged for selfies or had posts talking about being trans flagged, and there’s a reason for that. That reason is: transmisogyny.

Trans women existing is always coded as “sexual content” by bigots. It doesn’t matter what a woman is doing or how she is portraying herself, because in the mind of fascism, there is nothing a transfeminine person can do nonsexually.

—Transmasculine bodies are excluded from this idea of Always Getting Off On Gender, and it’s not because bigots don’t know we are real, but because they perceive us as sexless and absent of agency. We are empty vessels in the most uncomfortable sense of those words. (Yes, it IS very Freudian). Transmasculinity is only ever scary to the establishment when a young cis woman is ‘tricked’ into becoming one of us, and therefore also infertile and empty—and even then, we aren’t seen as active agents in that ‘conversion.’ Trans women are. They are always our scapegoat. We absolutely must not accept that.

We gotta call transmisogyny out when we see it. This website is not an oasis of queer safety. Yeah, you can find pictures of your blorbos chastely gay kissing, but it is not safe and it is not queer so long as it is transmisogynistic as fuck

The album art is magazine cut and paste collage using images from vogue magazine, slathered in glue and covered in ash and then colour adjusted in preview (lol).
