“ WHY DID I RECEIVE a text from harrison telling me avoid european cut at just the exact time i entered my tailor? ”  the full text had read along the lines that apparently his fiancee & the man had been discussing his suit for the wedding & decided that european cut wasn’t as flattering on his derriere. not that he had intended to wear something as casual or flashy as a european cut suit --- but this was getting a bit out of hand. “ i don’t care if you & him wish to choose the flowers or centerpieces, but i am quite capable of dressing myself, dear. ”

IT HAD BEEN A TYPICAL DAY, if typical days often included feeling the weight of a small jewelry box in your jacket pocket --- waiting for the dinner you were set to have that night with your partner. somehow, sherlock didn’t think that constituted typical. at least not in his areas of knowledge in regards to social regularities & protocol. he’d been trying to calm his nerves by focusing on a personal experiment of his, examining fibers under a microscope. john was making himself very much noticed, seeming to be vibrating on the spot for whatever reason. nothing appeared to be wrong, nothing he had learned to recognise, anyway --- so sherlock figure it was another thing that he just didn’t understand; but it didn’t change the fact that it was making him incredibly tense. with a sigh, he rose from the kitchen table to make a cup of tea. filling the kettle with water, he thought he heard a shuffle about the table. turning to place it on the stove, he noticed john had jumped from his spot & was now by the microscope, trying to look casual.

SHERLOCK COCKED AN EYEBROW CURIOUSLY, lowering the kettle & regarding john. “ what are you doing? ”
