In 1798, Thomas Rule opened an Oyster Bar in Covent Graden. More than 200 yearas later, and spanning the reigns of 9 monarchs, Rules is the oldest restaurant in London.
It specializes in traditional, and affordable, British cuisine: Game, oysters, pies and puddings. The walls are adorned with centuries of history, and hold proof of the literary and entertainment personalities that attended the restaurant in the past.
"It came like magic in a pint bottle; it was not ecstasy but it was comfort."
