“What kind of fish is that? Do you know, because I’d love to sketch it. Maybe it’ll be valuable information in the future.” She explained, smiling a little as she took his instruction and proceeded to build the logs and twigs in the way he wanted them. She looked over at him with a smile,”So do you know the science of a fire? Like what chemical properties must occur for them to happen? I mean… I doubt your people have an understanding of science after the world went to hell, but I’d be curious to know if there was bigger understandings than an advanced language.” She said.
“I believe we call this Salmon, I learned that from the books I showed you in the shelter. They are all over this river. They’re mutated a bit.. but similar.” he explained. He took a twig and some dried up grass, prepping his tinder. “I think the elders know more than I do.. I was simply shown the proper tools and I practiced over and over.” he laughed a bit. Tomac began to rub the stick in his hand fast until smoke arose. He waited a moment before blowing lightly at the smoke, adding oxygen to the small flame. After a small fire struck he tossed it into the other dead grass at the bottom of the logs. “Tada!” he exclaimed, wiggling his fingers, grinning a bit.
