"What? oh, Yes-wait, no…wait!….I forgot what I was even doing here! I’m going to go and pretend this never even happened and if you would do the same that would be great." Nailed it.

    a classic tadashi smirk grew on his face as he sat up on his chair. the cheery expression did not meet his eyes- he was still concerned that something else was afoot but he listened to her woes, his thick brows stuck furrowed in place- like steel && magnets- he wasn’t enough in his senses that late in the evening to go into discussing mechanics but he continued to listen nonetheless.              

                     I wish I could be of at least a little help on your project, but honestly I would have chosen something different by now- how fast is it able to go at the moment?

      “ top speed right now is around 30 mph. maybe choosing          a different project is a good idea, i just don't want to           give up on this until it's the best i can make it, you know? ”    she groans and leans her head back against the window. he's    probably right, a break from this project would be a good idea,    but gogo is definitely too stubborn for that. she'll figure it out    eventually, she just needs time. probably. 

      “ sorry, i know it's late. what's new with you? ”

   leiko wasn't nervous, exactly. sure, it    was her first day of college, and she'd    moved from her dad's house halfway    across the city into a dorm, but it wasn't     that big of a change. and if she had already    gone through a whole pack of gum in the past    twenty-four hours, that was none of anyone    else's business, right?

   she walked into the building her dorm was in,    tugging the last suitcase and her bike behind    her, and entered the room with a sigh,    dropping her things and flopping down on    the bed immediately. it took a second to     register that there were not only bright pink    blankets on the bed, but a whole other person    in the room     and crap, she'd totally messed    up, this probably wasn't a great first impression    at all.

   standing up and quickly smoothing out the other    girl's blankets, she gave a quick smile in her    direction, looking her over. tall, blonde, pretty;    the exact opposite of leiko, but she wasn't going    to let it phase her, even if she did have to look way    up just to talk to her.

              “ hey, i'm leiko      guess we're roommates? ”

   “ alright, so i'm going to throw this at       you, and if you can catch it, that means       it's too slow and i have to redesign it.       got it? cool    five, four, three, two        ”

    gogo was learning a lot of things about     museums today. first, roller skates were     not allowed in museums, and could get     you sent to museum jail. second, museum     jail is a thing. it's not really worthy of being     called a jail, it's more like a time-out corner,     but whatever. third, security guards were     likely to forget about the roller-skating girl     locked in museum jail and leave her there     till closing time.

    the fourth thing she was learning was that     t-rex skeletons could come to life and try     to eat you. because apparently that was a     thing that happened here. while she was     running for her life from the rather menacing     fossil, she saw a significantly less terrifying     exhibit and ducked into the room, and face-     to-face with someone dressed like          pocahontas? hell if she knows.

               “ uh, hey. i'm probably not supposed                   to be here, but the dinosaur is kinda                   blocking the door, so      hi? ”

   it had been fred's idea    sneak into the museum     after hours; a chance to look at the exhibits    without all the mobs of people that came with    going during the day. they'd gotten in easily    enough, but after ten minutes of arguing about    what to see first, gogo slipped away from the    group to look around on her own. it was all fine    until she heard something suspiciously similar    to a dinosaur roar and went running down the    halls, trying to find her friends again.

a deadpanned mutter aimed towards his window, a figure hunched against the frame sat quietly, waiting for him to  r e a l i z e  her presence, maybe. focus shifted from his book to her. champagne brown eyes look more concerning and intrigued.

   honestly, she'd half forgotten he was in the room, so wrapped up    in her own thoughts. trading her former blank stare out the window    to turn towards him, a small frown formed on her features — a    shrug of her shoulders, a frustrated sigh.       “ no, its fine, it's just ——                i still can't figure out how to make these stupid                 wheels go faster! i've tried everything, they should                be fine but it's still not enough. ”
