It’s not pretty, but dang it am I proud of this. I have been watching so many videos on how to create different joints, and just couldn’t quite wrap my head around building the jig to make one without a lot of the really nice tools. I finally decided to just give it a go, and it worked! I used my regular table saw blade (rather than a dado stack). It is more tedious than having the nice dado blade, but it still gets the job done. My latest project, and biggest one yet! This custom made bar is for a couple’s backyard wedding this weekend, and then will be used for years to come in their own backyard. I had so much fun working on this and including all of the design elements they were looking for, along with the functionality needed for a special event. #stateoftheshopsaturday Spent the day building new lumber racks, organizing all of my scrap wood, and hanging a light over my work bench - GAME CHANGER! I cannot focus or enjoy building when the shop is a mess, so I am super pumped to get back out tomorrow! The planter boxes are done! I’m really loving how they turned out. These are the perfect plants for these boxes too; I’m so glad I found them! I’ve wanted a new dark wood front door since I bought the house, but this brings a similar vibe to the front of the house and will do just fine for now.

Today’s build ( pre stain ) .... a planter box! 🌱 I’ll be making a friend for this one, staining them, and finding cute lil plants to put in them. Stay tuned for the finished product!
