So, let me get this straight.
The current narrative: Harry has left Modest! Management. He did not tell Louis, Liam or Niall, who all remain with Modest! as far as we have been told. Harry is reportedly signed to Jeff Azoffâs new management firm, but nobody with any authority has confirmed or denied that claim. Harry is going solo, very very solo.
What we now know: At same point in late 2015, Modest! Management had a huge, expensive plaque commissioned commemorating their â5 years, 4 months, 3 weeks and 6 daysâ of literal service to One Direction.Â
The narrative vs. the plaque-letâs try to rationalize:
Harry did not tell Louis, Liam and Niall he was leaving Modest! Management
Modest! Management and Harry knew this months before Louis, Liam and Niall and still had the plaques made and presented to various important people, presumably in Louis, Liam, Niall and Harryâs presence at some point
Louis, Liam and Niall just nodded and smiled and asked no further questions about why Modest! Management was acting as if their contract was expiring and they would no longer rep One Direction as a band
Modest! Management created a plaque with the literal years, months, weeks and days of the contract date with the band as a whole engraved on it, implying it is now terminated, but Louis, Liam and Niall decided to remain on the client roster for reasons that escape everyone
Conclusion: This is the most illogical way anyone has ever tried to go solo to spite the remaining members of their much-hated band. It is also the most illogical way a band of this level has ever âbroken upâ via the press.
Why are they making such deliberate storytelling choices if there are gaping inconsistencies and plot holes? Is it because the story theyâre selling is half truths and whole lies?
