Amazon walked to the window and nodded. “No snow today. No rain either. Good day.” The sky was too clear and the air was too dry, even if it was still pretty cold out. He looked back to Ryoutarou, not really sure why he had to wear a mask because of the dirt, but if that was how it was done, he would just nod and go along with it. But there was a lot to be moved and cleaned and it seemed much better this way then having Ryoutarou do it all by himself.

Ryoutaro vanished into the back area for a moment or two after seeing Amazon nod, his search turning up an extra set of gloves to go with what he originally was looking for.  Pleased that they could both be properly equipped, he stepped back into the dining area and held the items out.  ”The mask is to make sure you don’t breathe in too much dust.  It’s not good for you, even if we have good air in here.”  It would have been nicer if there was a stronger breeze, but for now this would work.  ”And the gloves are so you don’t bang your hands up.  I’ve got a pair too.”

Tying his own bandanna about his head, Ryoutaro looked for the first thing that could be moved easily.  ”Maybe we should move one of the tables out so we could set the books on it?  That way they wouldn’t be set on the ground.”

Amazon took the items and looked down at them, then at Ryoutarou and put them on in the best mimic of how Ryoutarou wore them that he could. He still wasn't sure this was really necessary, but if Ryoutarou said he should use them then he would. He already had them on, so he might as well. He turned to the shelves as if realizing for the first time that what they contained was books and just sort of stared.  His literacy was incredibly poor but he still showed an interest in them. He then turned to one of the tables and nodded. "Amazon will move it. Where should table go?"

Amazon brought the finished cup of coffee to the counter. “Don’t need money.” he assured Ryoutarou. Food was much more preferable. Maybe a place to sleep if it snowed again. He really had no use for money. He gave Ryoutarou a big smile ,”Amazon will help. Friends help.” he reminded. They were friends, and this was one of the few things Amazon was able to offer. He wondered a bit about Ryoautarou’s sister and where she had gone, since he’d never seen Ritsuko leave Masahiko. He wondered if they were still together, wherever they were. But first thing was first. He had to help clean up.

"Thanks, then.  I guess now that we’re done drinking we should try to move a few things?  Though I think cleaning everything before moving it outside and sweeping would work best."  Ryoutaro glanced out one of the open windows towards the sky.  "I don’t think it’s supposed to be snowing any time soon so we can leave things out to air and not have to worry."  Having someone else around to move things would help in the long wrong, mostly because some of it Ryoutaro wasn’t certain he could lift on his own and, well, he wasn’t sure just how much trouble he could get into if there was someone else there to make sure he didn’t get injured.  Being crushed beneath something didn’t sound pleasant.

"Let me get you a bandana and a mask, for the dirt.  Even if we’ve got the windows open I think they’d be good to wear while cleaning."

Amazon finished the cup and set it on the table. He looked around again before letting hi gaze settle onto Ryoutarou again. “Amazon will help.” he decided, not leaving any room for debate. If it was important to Ryoutarou, then he would help. He could at least help clean up he was pretty sure.

Ryoutaro sighed.  ”You really don’t have to though I won’t turn away the offer.  Having someone to talk to outside of the voices in my head is really welcome.”  He smiled at that and tapped the cup with his fingers.  ”I don’t know if Neesan will be back any time soon but I think I’ll be able to do my best.  I’ve been away for so long, it feels like everything’s moved without me.  Time, people.”

There were people he wanted to see more than anything else but….he wasn’t sure about it.  Ryoutaro didn’t want to approach anything with half-hearted feelings so he knew it’d be best to get the cafe cleaned again and then go from there.   “I can’t pay you in money for the help, but I can at least give you meals if that’s okay?”  He said.  The likelihood of his cooking being too horrible to eat was relatively low, or so he hoped.

Amazon sat int he seat indicated, watching Ryoutarou across the cafe behind the counter making coffee. It seemed more complicated than when his sister had done it, but Amazon waited patiently.He reached out and took the cup carefully, then drank. “Good!” he chirped happily at Ryoutarou, then drank more. It was warm, and it was a gift from a friend, so he enjoyed it.

Having walked back over to the counter where his own cup sat, Ryoutaro took a sip and scrunched up his nose despite Amazon’s words of praise.  It was certainly bitter, much more bitter than anything his sister would make.  He tried another drink before just pouring the rest of it out in the sink, not willing to drink something that made his taste buds protest.  He was going to make a comment on Amazon’s ability to drink it but he thought twice over it.

It wasn’t as though Ryoutaro could make comments on taste, not after his sister had nearly destroyed his, and so he poured himself another cup before going to join his friend at the table.  ”I want to try and open Milk Dipper again.  Get everything going, get all the dust out.  This place…is very important.”

Amazon tilted his head slightly, then looked around. “Amazon is used to seeing things change… Long enough, everything does.” He wasn’t sure if the building where Masahiko and Ritsuko had lived was still there. The first shack he’d lived in out in the woods was long gone.But that had been ages ago. Probably before Rouyatour was even alive. …Definitely before. Amazon looked back to Ryoutarou and smiled. “Friend’s home. Amazon will protect.” he promised. He smiled and nodded as Ryoutarou offered coffee. He’d come to like it after hanging around Milk Dipper a bit. “Yes. Thank you.”

"Have a seat then and I’ll see what I can get going for you."  Ryoutaro motioned for Amazon to havea  seat….at one of the cleaner tables.  A few hadn’t been properly gotten to just yet but several were okay to sit at.  He’d made sure to clean the kitchen first as it was, after all, the soul of a cafe, and he scuttled over to grab an apron to put on.

The coffee took a little longer than he’d have liked to make as he was sadly out of practice.  The first batch ended up on the floor, the second on him, and the third into a cup that he took over to Amazon as though he were carrying a motion sensitive bomb.  ”Here you go.  Thanks for waiting.”

Amazon nodded excitedly, “Tora will visit next time!” It had been a bit easier to keep track when the kitten liked to sleep and ride on his shoulders, and he’d been able to gauge just how much more space the cat had begun to take up over time. “Come by sometimes while looking for things.” Amazon smiled, “Ryoutarou’s home… Wanted to be sure nothing bad happened if you went to somewhere warm.” After all, he didn’t have too many friends, and the few he had, he didn’t know how to find. They usually came to him. The only one he knew the location of was Ryoutarou, so he felt somewhat obligated to keep an eye on the place.

Ryoutaro’s face flushed with gratitude when Amazon mentioned he’d checked in on Milk Dipper.  He hadn’t thought about what would happen now with the building, as when he was younger he came every day during the time it was closed.  With his sister gone it was just him so that added support was a bit of a relief even if he wasn’t aware of it.  ”I…really appreciate that.  I never stop to think that anything could happen to this place, you know?  You sort of feel after a while that certain things will never go away.”  Ryoutaro reached and placed a hand on one of the chairs, his fingers curling to hold it tightly.

He shook his head to clear his thoughts as well as to get some dust free.  ”Since you’re here, would you like some coffee?  Everything was sealed properly so it should all still be good, plus the smell would do something nice for this place.”

Amazon nodded slowly as Ryoutarou said he was usually always safe. That was good to know. He worried about Ryoutarou sometimes, though he was sure that his friend could take care of himself some way or another. Amazon beamed as Ryoutarou mentioned Tora and nodded. “Tora got big!” he cheered happily, gesturing with his hands in an indication that the kitten he’d found on the day they met had been growing well. “Amazon live in Japan during Winter. Good at keeping warm.” he promised happily, trying to ease his friend’s worry.

"Oh really? I’d like to see him again."  Ryoutaro wondered just how big the kitten had gotten if Amazon was saying so, having lived with him every day.  They said people who lived together never really noticed but if Amazon made a point then the kitten was probably getting closer to cat.  "You should bring him by sometime, now that I’m more or less back."  He wanted to add that he likely wasn’t going to be going anywhere else either, but he couldn’t be sure.

A..anyway, what brings you here?  I know you said you checked, but….” Just how often would a person check a place?  You’d assume after a week, two weeks, that they weren’t coming back right?

He’d thought about going back to the Amazon Jungle for a while, but had decided against it. “Went out for a long time.” He seemed a bit confused by that, as ‘out’ usually only meant for a few hours. But he shook his head at the apology and beamed as though Ryoutarou had only been gone a day or so. “Ryoutarou is safe, so it’s okay.”

"I’m always safe."  He stopped in his sentence.  "I’m usually always safe.”  It was important to clear that up and he kept the timid smile on his face.  ”And it has been really cold.  Are you and Tora doing okay?  I know it can’t be too easy out there, and with me not around…have you had anywhere else to go to stay warm?”  He thought of the small shack they stayed in, of the little kitten that Amazon had adopted.  Part of him felt bad for vanishing like he had but it hadn’t been entirely in his control.  He just simply wasn’t around.

Amazon relaxed slightly as Ryoutarou said he wasn’t hurt and offered a hand to pull him up. “Ryoutarou was gone for a while.” Amazon agreed, “Amazon came to visit but no way in.” He looked around the shop, still otherwise empty. He then looked back to Ryoutarou curiously. “Ryoutarou and sister go with birds?” He pointed over his shoulder toward the window, as if Ryoutarou would understand his poorly worded question.

Go with birds?  Ryoutaro narrowed his eyes in thought as he tried to understand just what was being asked of him.  He hadn’t gone anywhere that birds had…unless?  ”Do you mean to ask if I went somewhere warm for a while?  Is that it?”  He could only think Amazon meant it in that way, about birds migrating.  ”I didn’t really go anywhere, I just….went out.  I’m sorry.”

Amazon hadn’t exactly understood why he had been unable to get into Milk Dipper for a while now. No one had been around and the store had been completely empty. Did Ryoutarou and his sister go away hen it was cold? Like some of the birds? Most people didn’t, but he thought it might be possible. It made more sense than anything else. Still, he passed by every few days just to see.

Today though the windows were open and there was noise from inside. Amazon leaned through the window and beamed. Ryoutarou was back!! He flinched away as Ryoutarou suddenly fell, the dust flying everywhere. He coughed, then climbed in through the window, crossing quickly to lean over Ryoutarou.

"…Hurt?"

Ryoutaro lay on his back, hands raised up much like how an animal would when they were either trying to sleep or protect himself.  He blinked against the settling dust as he heard a voice, and after a moment a face made itself out more.  ”Oh…Amazon.”  A smile spread across his lips as he groaned into movement, attempting to push himself up to be at the level of his friend’s face.  ”I’m…okay, I’m not hurt.  I just happened to fall a little.”  It was true, the fall hadn’t been very high and he hadn’t hit his head.  The stool he was standing on remained upright as though to make it seem like he’d fallen all on his own.

He cursed the stool a little bit.  ”It’s been a while, nice to see you.”

A bit of dust had settled around the Milk Dipper, coating the tables and chairs with a thin layer that would need to be wiped away.  It wasn’t anything major, just the remnants of a small (unexpected) trip that had seen Ryoutaro long absent from friends and family. With his sister off doing things unknown in parts unknown the cafe had been closed, doors locked and chained, yet with Ryoutaro’s return things could open.

Windows were slid up to allow air and sunshine in, the door propped to let a breeze blow through and take away the stale smell of winter and confinement.  Tables were cleaned with fresh clothes, cobwebs were knocked down.  Ryoutaro was still in the middle of trying to reach a troublesome spot with his balance on the step stool a complete risk.  It was a risk he had to take though to get everything cleaned, but as soon as the stool started to tip he went with it, sending a massive cloud of dust out the door and showering any unsuspecting passerby.

It was a new route for Amazon. He wasn't sure why he never came out this way on his patrols, but today he'd decided on a change of scenery. The trees were bare and Amazon had woven the red scarf around his neck. The cat he'd found and taken in was nestled into it against his neck where it was warm. He was sure eventually Tora would get bored or hungry and go of on his own, but for now he kept the cat with him.

Amazon stopped, hearing a rumbling in the distance, and went still to listen to the sound. "Thunder?" Amazon mumbled to himself curiously. But the sky was clear and the sound came from close to the ground. Amazon continued toward it cautiously, curiously. As he got closer he took to the trees, moving through the branches toward the sound that he was now was far too constant and deliberate to be thunder.

He stopped, remaining in the branches as he came upon the shrine and upon the man beating the large drum. Something felt odd about him, and Amazon usually listened to his gut about this kind of thing. But it wasn't a bad feeling... He just couldn't quite identify it. So he continued to watch.

Amazon nodded. “GaGa armlet left in Amazon jungle. Safe there.” He leaned on his bike, thinking about it a bit. “Too much power with both. Amazon only used both once to defeat Garanda.” amazon was sure that if he’d kept using the power of both armlets, it likely would have killed him. Just the GiGi armlet had kept him alive all this time, keeping him from aging or dying even after all of these years. but to wear both would have exhausted his body.

"Ah, I see."  That made more sense and he had no reason to doubt the man’s words. If he had to compare it to something it probably would be Climax Form, if only for sheer strength and power and how drained it usually left him feeling afterward.  "It’s good then that it’s safe, that you’re safe, and now you can live how you please where you please."  That sounded really weird to say and Ryoutaro frowned.  He tried to drop that line of thought by petting Tora again, allowing the kitten and its affections to fill his attention.

Amazon nodded, "Amazon helps friends now." So many enemies had surfaced after Gedon and Garanda, and so many continued to surface. So amazon came and went as he was needed, settling where he could provide the most help to people. He smiled and reached out to pet the kitten, pleased with how well Tora had settled into living alongside him.

Amazon was still fairly confused as he was ushered into the bathroom to change, but gave a small nod. This had never really come up in his life before, as he’d always lived pretty much by himself out in the woods. He took his clothing and gave another small nod as Ryoutarou shut him into the bathroom to change. It still seemed very odd to him, but if that’s how it was, then thats how it was.

Once he’d changed back into his own much more worn clothing, Amazon stepped out of the bathroom, carrying the clothes he’d borrowed in his arms, not entirely sure what to do with them. “…Ryoutarou…?”

"Yes?"  Ryoutaro peered around the corner as he heard his name.  He had something in his mouth, a cracker or a biscuit maybe, and he bit it off as he walked over to his companion.  "Okay good, you got everything off without trouble. I wasn’t sure if you’d be able to handle the tie."  Ryoutaro held his arms out for the clothing to be handed out, his face indicating that he thought Amazon had done really well.  He didn’t want to think of the man as a dog or a pet, he was fully grown and capable of handling things, but sometimes he wanted to tell him well done.  Maybe it was because he was used to having to say that to his Imagin, mostly out of a loving tease.

Amazon handed over the clothes, shaking his head. "Amazon has worn a tie before." he explained in clarification of how he'd had no trouble with it. It wasn't something he wore often, since he had very little reason to, but he had a few times. But he was pleased by how happy Ryoutarou seemed to be and that he seemed pleased with Amazon. The whole situation had been strange and a little awkward but amazon was glad to have come through relatively unscathed.

Amazon watched Ryoutarou, worried for a minute that he’d upset him again, but Tora seemed to help him settled back down and Amazon smiled, clearly with no fear for his own life. His threat had long passed. Tora simply settled against Ryoutarou’s chest, purring contentedly and rubbing against his hand, happy for the attention.

He looked to the armlet, considering Ryoutarou’s words. “Looks awkward with both…” He said, tapping the beak of the armlet. “Connect together here and they just kind of hang there. Very strange.”

"Both?  Is that the other one you mentioned? The..gogo?  Gaga?"  He wans’t sure what Amazon had called it and was probably just saying something offensive and mocking at that point in time.  "The other armlet that you took back to the Amazon, that is."

How do I look?

"….you look…like someone else entirely."  Ryoutaro looked at Amazon and blinked a few times, unsure he was looking at the same person who’d willingly walked to the back room despite his warnings.  

Amazon had shown up, Airi said something about photos, and now both he and the wild man were dressed to impress.  ”You look really good.  Did Neesan also do your hair?”

Amazon obediently did as Airi insisted. It was all fairly harmless, and honestly he wasn’t sure what might happen if he refused. It was, in a strange way, sort of fun. When it was over, Amazon waited at least until Airi had left before struggling his way out of the stiff outfit. He paused in fighting with his shirt and tie to look over at Ryoutarou as he suggested Amazon go to the bathroom to change and looked confused. Was this no kay?

"…you can’t strip out here.  If it was just me I…I guess maybe it’d be okay, but my sister is here so…" Ryoutaro took Amazon by the arm and started to lead him back to the bathroom.  "Generally you shouldn’t change in front of other people."  He was going to add an ‘unless’ to that sentence but stopped himself short since Ryoutaro wasn’t about to go into details.  He was timid enough he changed with the door closed and locked so he didn’t really have the right or knowledge to say anything.  

At the bathroom he sort of pushed Amazon in and handed him his clothing.  ”I’ll be waiting out here for when you’re done, okay?  If you need help with anything let me know.”

Amazon nodded slowly, clearly surprised by Ryoutarou’s reaction to that fact. “Amazon’s power comes from armlet. Connected directly to Amazon.” He looked at the odd band, knowing that under it, it dug into his skin, that the original wound had healed around it and that it was part of him now and had been since Before Ryoutarou had even been born.

But Amazon smiled cheerfully, without any sign of worry, as he looked back to Ryoutarou. “No one wants to take armlet anymore. Amazon not in danger.”

He seemed to calm down a little when Amazon said he wasn’t in danger anymore of someone wanting to take the armlet but there was still a stone in the pit of his stomach.  Maybe he’d been a bit naive to think that riders wouldn’t die because of their transformation items, even though he knew they could die fighting, so he just wasn’t sure how to even process all of it.  The speechlessness that held him remained a bit longer as he took Tora from his shoulders and held the kitten in his arms, scratching him gently beneath the chin.  Tora’s purrs helped, a little.

Evnetually Ryoutaro just decided to speak, or say anything, to make the silence and the moment less awkward.  ”At least it’s not something horrible to look at?  Like you could have had an awkward tiara or something rather than an armlet.”  Maybe it would have been better if he’d stayed quiet.

Amazon watched Ryoutarou, worried for a minute that he'd upset him again, but Tora seemed to help him settled back down and Amazon smiled, clearly with no fear for his own life. His threat had long passed. Tora simply settled against Ryoutarou's chest, purring contentedly and rubbing against his hand, happy for the attention.

He looked to the armlet, considering Ryoutarou's words. "Looks awkward with both..." He said, tapping the beak of the armlet. "Connect together here and they just kind of hang there. Very strange."
