the kitchen was completely dark, save for the faint, pale glow of the refrigerator light casting long shadows across the tiles. it was past two in the morning, and the dorm was entirely silent, but you were standing there in your oversized shirt, staring at the middle shelf like it was a crime scene.
your hand was trembling as you reached out, your fingers just barely brushing against the cool, crisp skin of a green apple. you knew you shouldn’t. you’d been so good all day, counting every single thing, keeping the numbers perfectly low, but the hollow, aching emptiness in your stomach had woken you up, making you feel completely desperate.
"what do you think you're doing?"
the low, raspy voice came out of the darkness behind you, making you gasp and nearly drop the fruit. you spun around, your heart hammering against your ribs.
sungchan was leaning against the doorframe, his tall, broad frame completely blocking the exit. he was just wearing a pair of loose sweatpants, his dark hair messy and falling into his eyes, looking effortlessly handsome even in the middle of the night. but his eyes weren't sleepy at all. they were sharp, heavy, and completely fixed on the apple in your hand.
"i... i was just hungry" you whispered, your voice sounding small and defensive in the quiet kitchen. you instinctively tried to hide the fruit behind your back, feeling instantly guilty under his heavy gaze. "it's just an apple, sungchan. it's not even a real meal."
sungchan didn't look angry. he looked calm, that quiet, strict control of his settling over the room like a heavy blanket. he walked over slow, his bare feet making no sound on the floor until he was standing right in your space, towering over you. he reached behind your back, his big, warm hand wrapping around yours and gently but firmly forcing you to bring the apple back into the light.
"we talked about this" he murmured, his thumb rubbing slow circles over the back of your hand, though his grip remained unyielding. "an apple has sugar. it resets your fasting window. you told me you wanted to be strict this week, remember? you asked me to keep you on track."
"i know, but it hurts tonight" you whined softly, your forehead dropping against his bare, warm chest. you hated how weak you felt, but at the same time, his presence was the only thing keeping you grounded. "just a few bites. please, channie."
sungchan let out a soft, low sigh, his free hand coming up to tangle in your hair, gently pulling your head back so you had to look up at him. his dark eyes were so intense, full of this weird, hyper-focused obsession with your body and your progress. he loved having this control over you, and you loved giving it to him.
"no bites, baby" he whispered, his thumb moving to brush over your bottom lip, pressing down slightly. "you're doing so well. i checked your waist earlier, you're almost exactly where you wanted to be. don't ruin it over a stupid piece of fruit because you're having a weak moment."
he easily pried the apple out of your fingers, turning around and placing it back on the refrigerator shelf before shutting the door with a soft click, plunging the kitchen back into near-total darkness.
you let out a broken, frustrated whimper, your knees feeling a little soft from the lack of energy. but before you could step away, sungchan’s large arms wrapped securely around your waist from behind, pulling your back flush against his broad chest. he guided you back down the dark hallway and into his bedroom, lifting you onto the mattress before crawling in right beside you.
he pulled you into his chest, his long legs tangling with yours, wrapping you up completely so you felt safe and hidden from the rest of the world. his big hand slid under the hem of your shirt, resting flat against your lower stomach. his fingers spread wide, mapping out the shape of your hip bones, tracing the hollow slope of your belly with a slow, possessive reverence.
"look how small you feel right now" sungchan whispered into your hair, his voice dropping into that deep, soothing tone that always made your mind go quiet. "so light in my arms. you look so beautiful like this, baby. so perfect for me."
you nuzzled closer into his neck, your hands clutching at his shoulders. the hunger was still there, a dull ache, but the heavy warmth of his body and the soft, steady stream of praise was filling you up in a completely different way.
"is it enough?" you mumbled against his skin, your eyes heavy. "am i doing good?"
"you're doing so good" he murmured, his lips pressing a soft, lingering kiss to your temple, his hand gently smoothing over your stomach again, keeping you empty and perfect just like you both wanted. "daddy's so proud of you. just close your eyes and go to sleep. i've got you, and i'm not gonna let you ruin your progress."
