Why does Tonksâs character apparently get ruined when she becomes a mother but Dad!Remus is so glorified in the fandom?
And whatâs best, Tonks is also reduced to a surrogate in the fandom yet somehow itâs getting married and having a child that ruins her character?
Tonks as a mother is so underappreciated (when she was pregnant during a war and then went to a battle days later after giving birth to try and help to make a better world for him) but sheâs so hated for it? Why do people have so much hate for âbadassâ women who get married and have children as if those women canât be badass? A woman can be a badass no matter if sheâs married or not, has children or not, aka just always. Her character didnât get âruinedâ or âreduced to a housewifeâ. Youâre just dumb
Also Tonks is in the same situation that Lily was in but somehow only Tonks gets hated.

I remember I asked a Wolfstar shipper/Remadora hater why Doraâs character is âruinedâ because she fell in love with Remus and became a mother. And then they started rambling on about how Tonks was a âbadass, career womanâ and she was reduced to being depressed about Remus rejecting her.
Like⌠sorry what? Badass career women canât fall in love and get depressed when that love is unrequited? Badass career women arenât allowed to have feelings?
Thatâs like saying that badass career women arenât real human beings with real feelings. Remadora bashers are literally just buying into the old sexist, anti-feminist trope that badass career women are cold, heartless, independent bitches who couldnât care less about love and family, which is just ludicrous. You can be badass, independent and fall in love and have a child at the same time. You donât have to choose.
And youâre right about the Lily thing. Why does Dora get hate for becoming a mother but Lily literally gets worshipped by 90% of this fandom for becoming a mother. Why is Doraâs character ruined but not Lilyâs (if Lils can even be called a character)?

For another fictional work that addresses this issue, I recommend the show Ted Lasso. If you havenât seen it, it deals with the idea of a working woman / businesswoman in love so well. Plus the show is super wholesome. Thereâs also this false idea in the show (the show proves it to be false) that if youâre a working woman then you have little time for emotions, and therefore any sadness you experience over failed relationships is invalid. When obviously itâs not invalid at all.Â

i love angst (especially for remadora) so here we go!
-remus knew when he and tonks started dating that he was going to have to break up with her eventually if she didnât get bored of him first, tonks however thought it was forever
-the honest truth was, remus loved tonks so much it terrified him
-tonks called the times remus hurt her âan out of character momentâ but when he left when she was pregnant she began to think maybe it was just his character and it wasnât out of character at all.
-nothing hurt remus more than tonks admitting during dh when they werenât together that he let her down
-tonks would send letters to remus in the werewolf pack, on the rare occasion he would reply she would ask to meet him, she just needed to know he wasnât hurt
-one time he did agree to meet her, during new yearâs eve, tonks got all dressed up and went to the bar were they were meant to meet. he ended up never showing.
-tonks actually grew to resent dumbledore and saw all of his flaws
-in deathly hallows remus admitted that âthe pain got so loud that it drowned out you promising you loved me.â
-tonks died first. remus saw her laying on the floor, not quite dead yet. he held her in his arms as he begged her not to leave him. her final request was the he went home to teddy.
-when she took her last breath, remus took everything in him and began to run to find a way out so he could return to teddy and respect his wifeâs last wishes. he was killed when he found an exit.
-when they broke up at the end of order of the phoenix, remus returned tonks stuff to her and she found it on her doorstep and thatâs when he hair went brown and it finally hit her.
this last part is a head cannon but
when remus broke up with tonks:
tonks in hbp: âi love you so,â. remus in hbp: âplease let me go.â
when remus got back after leaving:
remus in dh: âi love you so,â. tonks in dh: âplease let me goâ
