That had him pausing for a moment, falling silent as he had looked mildly concerned for a moment as he had rethought his approach. He had then just moved to one side of the cell and leaned against it, putting a bit of distance between himself and Steve without making it look like he was retreating.

“Nothing wrong with being alone Steve, but you’ll be alone too, especially after this.... You really think that no one will notice that I’m gone?”

The whispering dragged Tony back from the merciful oblivion. With a snarl he opened sleep gummed eyes and fumbled in the darkness for the bottle by his side, already wincing in anticipation of the taste of sour wine. Then he realised with a jolt that the low urgent voice wasn’t muttering in his head, but somewhere in the room nearby.

Tony bolted upright from the tangled sheets, sending a couple of bottles from the ruined bed onto the wooden floor. His mind reeled, and for a few sickening moments the motion swirled in counterpoint to the pitch and roll of the ship around him. The hairs in the back of his neck prickled at the hint of danger, even as he clenched his teeth and tried not to be violently ill. Tony blinked in the blackness of the captain’s cabin, an involuntary groan escaping his lips. The voice whispered again, this time a little louder and more intelligible “Forgive my for waking you sir-“

Tony squinted in the direction of the voice. The silhouette of a man stood at the foot of the broken bed. limned by the faint glow of a lantern burning in the passageway beyond the open cabin door. He glared coldly at the apparition, trying to focus his wine addled thoughts. “God damn it Grant,” He grated. “If I could kill you with my eyes, you’d be a steaming puddle on the deck. Do you know how long it has been since I managed to sleep?” “Just over a week sir.” The man said. “It’s happened again, that’s why I’m here.”

The words brought Tony up short, a vicious curse dying on his lips. He bent his head and drew a single hissing breath, summoning the cold clarity of his rage. When he lurched from his bed his brain still felt swollen and his mouth tasted like a midden heap, but his thoughts were cold and clear. Wreckage littered the captain’s cabin of the corsair ship ‘Chrono’. Resources were scarce after the battle she’d fought almost a month ago, there was always more pressing repairs to be made as the wounded vessel limped home. Squares of triple layered canvas were nailed over the broken window frames on the stern and port side of the cabin. Cabin doors were scavenged from other parts of the ship were nailed over holes in the port bulkhead and the ceiling where catapult stones had punched through the ship’s ensorcelled oak. One stone had crossed the cabin and smashed the frame of the bed before coming to rest in a pile of horsehair mattresses; the other was still buried halfway in the deck between the bed and the room’s large map table. Still wearing a fine coat of blackened mail over his dark leather keitan and robes, Tony paused only long enough to pull on his boots, then, with practised familiarity, he wove among the piles of debris and grabbed his heavy cloak and sword belt from the charred map table. “Let’s go,” He said as he swept past the man and into the passageway beyond.

It had been quite a long time since he had found himself awakening in this odd world of myths and magic and he had given up on any chance of returning home quite a while ago. As much as he missed his friends and comrades, he knew that they could manage alright without him. He sighed a little as he reminisced a little as he made his way up onto the deck. As some sea spray hit his face he hissed slightly, pushing all thoughts of home deep into the recesses of his mind, it was not like he would see anyone from there ever again.

Tony had just snorted in amusement as Steve had grabbed his hand and he had then just attempted to tug it free. “Look, Hydra dogs are not really my type Steve.” A smirk had formed on his lips then as he had just shaken his head. “Like you could get a collar on me Steve.”

Tony had been about to snark back at him, but, he had instead let out a grunt as he had felt Steve’s hard kick and he had landed on his hands and knees hard and he had then just moved to get back up on his feet as he had snarled out “I amounted to far more than you did.”

For a brief moment Tony had felt relief at seeing that his friend was alright, but, then the sight of him being in a Hydra uniform had finally sank in. He had then just raised a brow as he had snorted a little as he had said “Yeah, did I miss a costume party or something Steve?” He had half joked as he had attempted to stand up.

“Did I do something bad again?” He had grinned as he had played along as if he was too hung over from with whatever had caused him to black out to notice that something seemed off.

“I can’t wait to beat that smirk right off your face.” He grinned as Tony went on.

“ You know what’s going. You’re a genius.”  He moved to the bars as he made his way to Tony. “Your smart mouth won’t get you out of this one Tony. Welcome to the home of Hydra.” And he didn’t care what the other was going to say, this whole thing  was just amusing to Steve.

Tony had paused for a moment, a slight frown forming on his features but then very quickly disappearing as his snark had resurfaced.

“Now Steve, did you go play with those bad influences again?” He had just smirked over at him, honestly, he could feel his stomach twist at the thought of Steve having actually been aligned with Hydra this entire time and he had every intention of making Steve pay for dragging him to Hydra.

He had then just looked over at Steve once again as he had stood up and then just smirked a little as he had added “Hydra trained their pet dog well, they even got you to play fetch.” He had then just rolled his shoulders as he had hummed out very lightly “Go roll over and get your belly rubbed by some Hydra Agent, I’m out of here.” He had then just moved to walk past Steve, having glanced at him with a rather intense glare as he had done so.

[Text.] - Cap. - Hey, don't get mad or anything but I think I have had a bit of an accident involving drink and a fucking big dog.

Tony had just glared at Steve in a clearly very annoyed manner as he had actually growled at him. “So help me Steve, either put me down or I will bite YOU!” He was just so frustrated as he had looked like he was going to actually carry out his threat.

However, the seemingly only reason that he hadn’t was that he had noticed that the doctor had walked over to him and he had just stared at him in a very unamused manner as he had grumbled out. “Hello, I appear to have an angry attachment, do you have anything you could prescribe to detach it?” In a very snarky manner.

However, the bite on his arm would be visible now from his sleeve having been pushed up from a lot of the wriggling and squirming he had done in an attempt to get away from Steve and off of his shoulder.

The doctor frowned and looked at the bite on his arm. “Well is seems to me that someone is in need to their rabies shots and good arm washing.” he said finally standing up. “Hello Captain Rogers.” “Hey Dick, sorry he’s so mouthy. I swear it’s like dealing with a toddler.” The man laughed. “As I remember my Da telling me you weren’t exactly a pleasure to treat yourself.” Steve waved him off as the man moved around to grab supplies to clean and close Tony’s wound.

Tony had just rolled his eyes at Steve’s comment about him as he had pushed against Steve’s shoulder in an attempt to get down once again and then just grumbled something under his breath about how he hoped this was not one of Steve’s dating tactics.

Tony had watched the doctor move off to grab all the supplies needed to treat his arm and he had then just looked at Steve in a very amused manner as he had simply hummed out “So, you spend a lot of time alone with Dick?” Clearly having decided to just annoy Steve as he had no other way to take his frustration out on his friend.

“Can you put me down or are you going to crouch down for the doctor?” He had snarked off irritably.

“Don’t test me I will.” Steve snapped and began putting him down. “Besides even if I did crouch your feet still wouldn’t touch the floor.” Man he was full of snark today, but really it was Tony’s fault for not taking care of himself. Steve was getting sick of the other man’s cavalier attitude towards his own health. “And how much time I spend with and Dick is not your concern Tony.”

Tony had just shot very amused look as he had finally been put back down and then just glanced at the door very quickly just before he had grinned back up at Steve, it had looked like the engineer was mentally debating if he could out maneuver Steve well enough to be able to get out of the door before he was caught again.

Tony would then have just pulled his sleeves down, covering the bite as he had snarked off once again. “Do the others know how much time you sped with Dick?” A almost playful glint to his eyes as he had snorted in amusement.

He had then just reached for the door as he had added “Now as fun as this was I have work to get back to. You have fun with Dick though.”

“If ye wish to see it as fear Tony Stark, then I shall not convince otherwise.” Thor lifted his beer in a salute to Stark and let out a single huffed laugh at this whole endeavor. He had not expected to be in Stark’s lab for as long as he was, but the journey was at least enlightening. To see first hand the process in which Stark processed logic had always intrigued Thor. After all, from his perspective Stark was a child tinkering with toys, but it was he, and not Thor, that would lead humanity forward. “Now, shall we test it?” Thor got up off his seat and went to stand next to Stark, looking from the machine to the data a few times just to make sure he was seeing things right.

“The power levels are stable so why not, just be prepared to hit the deck if things go wrong.” He had joked as he had grinned up at Thor and then flicked his attention back onto the machine. A small, soft smile actually spreading across his features, Tony always seemed to be happiest around technology. He had gone through the power up process for the machine, a glint of almost childish excitement bout him as he had taken a step back from it and looked over the readings. “They are maintaining stable readings all along the line here.” He had then just smiled up at his large Asgardian friend. However, in the moment that Tony’s attention had shifted, the readings had started to change.

“So ye have built the machine with components that until now have only been theory… and ye say it should work in theory? Should I head to safety just in case?” Thor asked in a mocking sort of way. He admired Tony for always striving to take humanity to the next level of advancement, but Thor always had some doubts about the methods in which Tony took to take these advances.

“Hey, the theoretical science behind it is good. I’m not sure whether to be flattered or insulted that something I’ve built scares you.” He had grinned back up at Thor in an almost cheeky manner as he had paused in doing the final checks on the machine before the first test run.Tony had normally preferred to work with no one else around, but, he had actually quite enjoyed having Thor around to talk to while he had worked, it had made a nice change.

“No, it was Hit-Monkey shooting me in the ass that convinced him to help.” He pulled a bullet out of his lower back and showed it to Tony. Wade smirked. “Though, of course, your case of blue balls was so severe you were too busy spanking your monkey to help out.”

He had actually just laughed at Wade for a few lingering moments and then just shrugged a little. “I had some fun with a ‘friend’ while you were being shot in the ass.” He had then just turned to walk away from Wade with a very big grin.

“You and Clint have fun, I have work to get back too.” He had called back to Wade as he had reached the door.

“No, more like I was asking if you wanted me to.” He had smirked over at Clint as he had just walked back over to Clint, a surprisingly devious smirk spreading across his face as he had slapped Clint on the ass playfully. “Sorry birdbrain, not much to hold my attention there.” Just before he had turned to walk out.

“We both know you checked out my butt. But there’s nothing you have to be ashamed of. A lot did that before.” Clint chuckled jokingly. He gasphed in surprise as Tony slapped his ass and turned to look at Tony. “Oh really? Well…if you say so. But you clearly miss something.”

He had just snorted in amusement as he had stepped out of the room as he had just called back to Clint. “If you can prove it other than saying you saw me look you would have shown me the proof by now big bird.” He had then just headed off down the hallway, hoping that Clint wouldn’t follow him.

Out Of The Armour To Behind The Shield. (Body Swap M!A. )

Tony had been sat just trying o take slow, deep breaths as he had heard Steve’s voice. ‘No, no, no, no, no....’ Was all he had thought as he had just scrubbed his hands trough his currently blonde hair. He had bolted on Steve for a reason and he had just shakily forced himself to his feet as he had moved to try to head off further on into the armoury. He had hoped that Steve would just look elsewhere for him, but, he could feel his chest tightening an he had clenched his hands into fist so tightly that he could feel his nails digging into his palms.

He knew that his usual coping methods wouldn’t work while he was in Steve’s body and he had taken a deep breath as he had tried to keep his voice sounding as calm and as level as possible as he had called back to Steve “I-I’m getting something, I’ll just meet you back upstairs shortly.” It had not had sounded quite as calm and as level as he had hoped it would. Tony had just glanced around for something in particular almost frantically, he could feel his heart racing as his chest had continued to feel like it was getting tighter and tighter.

He had soon just placed his hand on what he was looking for, but, then a pang of guilt had made his stomach twist. Fine he could do this to his own body, but, not to Steve’s.... He had shoved the thing back into a drawer and he could finally feel the panic attack getting the better f him. He had just hoped that Steve had bought his lie and gone back upstairs.

He had never wanted Steve too see him like this, let alone any of the others. However, Jarvis had observed what was going on with Tony and he had spoken up to Steve once again as he had simply said “My mistake sir, Mr. Stark is in fact upstairs he took the other elevator back up to the upper levels and is currently in the main living area looking for you as he had retrieved the item that he was seeking.”

Tony knew how much the A.I. disliked lying, so he truly appreciated what Jarvis as trying to do for him.
