I remember this day as if it were yesterday, waking up going through the motions, feeling Normal, but knowing in the back of my mind that with in a few hours everything was coming to an end, the final goodbye, the actual visual confirmation of the decision I had made.... Getting my lil man (Devyn) up and dressed in his little suit, getting myself ready, talking with family, but as I watched the clock get closer to the time to leave for the cemetery. I felt the pit just grow in my stomach, but kept it together..... I was fine the whole way threw town, but that moment, the moment I seen the sign for the place I chose for your final resting place I lost it, that feeling of can I please go back just 5 days that's all I need 5 days I'll make a different choice, the feeling of I can't do this without you. As I sit here 17 years later I can sit here and remember, even still feel that physical gut wrenching pain .... It's a reminder of how absolutely devastating it was to loose you. No matter the number of years that go by these last 5 days will truly be the hardest days for me every year.
