Now I need to know your top 5 P/T canon moments too! - starkerintheparker

I decided to go with one moment from each movie they’ve been in together (+FFH).

There are so many big, obvious moments that are great. But for me, devoted shipping often comes out of the small things, so some of these are a bit off beaten path. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love the more obvious moments, too. Anyway…

1. Civil War: “You’re Done”

What don’t I love about this moment? Tony looks so worried, like maybe for the first time he’s realized that recruiting a kid was perhaps not the best idea. I love that Peter instantly relaxes when he realizes it’s Tony who’s on top of him (and that he calls him “man,” which is adorable). I love that Peter wants to keep fighting! (And, okay, LBR, I’m not mad about Tony using the suit to hold a flailing Peter down…)

2. Homecoming: Tony’s Expression After Peter Turns Him Down

There are so many excellent moments in Homecoming that it’s hard to pick. Obviously the not-hug is amazing. The confrontation after the ferry is amazing. The fact that Tony remembers all the details from Peter’s calls is amazing. But it’s this expression that really gets me. This is the moment Tony realizes this kid is (even) more mature and grounded and great than he expected. I think this is the moment he goes from thinking Peter is good legacy material to being seriously intrigued by him.

And, on the flip side, I love that Peter thought this whole thing was a test – because, of course, he looks up to Tony and doesn’t yet realize that, yes, actually, he is dumb enough to think letting a 15 year old just up and move into the Avengers compound without even asking his guardian first is a totally fine thing to do.

3. Infinity War: “Yeah, Uh, Speaking of Loyalty”

I love this entire scene. You can see how well they know each other by this point, with Peter feeling totally comfortable talking back to Tony (“I did think this through!”) and Tony knowing him so well and clearly having had this kind of conversation before (“And now I’ve gotta hear it”). The cloak reacting in the background! Tony giving in and then instantly asking for Peter’s advice! But it’s this line in particular that seals the deal for me, because it’s proof that Peter got on that spaceship because of Tony, and that slays me.

4. Engame: The Hug

Okay, this is the big obvious one. I can’t help it, it’s too fantastic. I’ve mentioned before that I ship Spuffy, which features one of the all time best “I can’t believe you’re back from the dead” expressions, when Spike sees Buffy for the first time in Season 6. I never thought I’d ever get another scene that rivaled that one, but this one did the trick. Tony’s absolute awe and joy is so perfect it’s hard to take.

That said, “I lost this kid” is also great, as is that moment when we see Peter looking so devastated as he went back to school.

5. Far From Home: “Yeah, He Did”

Okay, listen. I really, really, REALLY love that scene on the plane, with Peter sobbing over Tony and Happy telling him he was the one thing Tony never doubted. I adore it. But god, the way Peter closes his eyes here, and little smile he gets remembering how Tony was with acronyms just does me in. He’s so FOND, and it’s so familiar. He can really feel how well they knew each other, and I can’t handle it.
