Don’t let the name fool you baby this bitch is motherfuckin’ Calacas scent in disguise. For Halloween Lush has been rolling out the Monsters’ Ball bath bomb for a couple years now. Ya’ll might recognize the scent as The Day of the Dead/Calacas/Calavera/Skullduggery bath bomb. So basically Monster’s Ball is a Halloween version of the Day of the Dead / Calavera bath bombs. I was really drunk when I wrote all this very drunk off tequila

*candy eye**(eye candy from what I’ve been told is sugar and vegan dark chocolate chips)*
Here is the little chocolate eye I was talking about. They’re pretty hard to catch because they crumble away so quickly, but at least you don’t gotta’ clean it up
I mentioned before this guy is a Halloween themed bath bomb in which I liked the scent so much that I did buy two of them (got 1 left still) and I also picked up quite a few Eyeball bath bombs. Monsters’ Ball while being a seasonal variant of the Calacas scent family it does bring something unique to the table; Himalayan Rock Salt. I will talk about that a bit later though. The scent is so fucking amazing, a bright citrus with warm tones of olibanum. Olibanum is just frankincense in disguise and it smells amazing. Overall it just a very sweet lighthearted scent that makes you feel very happy.
On the visual side this bomb is pretty cool looking at the start. Lots of warm pink notes at first with a little bit of blue from his horns. The bomb then makes big waves off blue that make a smokey dance with the earlier mentioned pink notes. This bath bomb also isn’t very pigmented, so when all the fizzing is said and done it leaves you with a clean bright purple/blue colored water that you can see through. ALSO for all those folks out there who don’t like glitter in their bath bombs than this guy should be great for you! It’s current counterpart in Lush’s line up is Calavera which also is glitterless.
and of course the section where I am usually the most harsh, effects and shit. So I was told 3 big things that this bath bomb was good for: bright fun moods/anti depressive vibes, softened water and skin, and a very clean feeling. As I said earlier the scent of the baths scent did make me feel very happy. Earlier I had said that I would talk about that Himalayan Rock Salt, well we’re also gonna’ talk about the chocolate chip eye here too. So bath bombs were made from the get go as softeners for hard water in the taps back in the UK so with that in mind we’ll add that salts and sodium of any kind are not only fantastic water softener but also fantastic for softening the skin. The chocolate chips in their vegan state also have an nice buttery hydration similar to things like shea and cocoa butter.
Bomb Design: 4/5 (simple & fitting; on its side & the look like little teeth)
Scent: 5/5 (personal favorite, happy, unique, rememberable)
Bath Visuals: 3/5 (very pretty, a little simple but likeable)
Effectiveness: 4/5 (felt very soft and cheery afterwards, effective)
TOTAL: 16 (really glad I have another one of these. I’ll probably go pick up some Calavera bath bombs from my local shop soon too)
