I just found out that Sony will no longer be making physical discs for their games moving forward, and instead relying on only downloads.
I prefer to own physical copies of anything that I can, whether it's games, movies, tv shows, music, comics/manga, even artwork if at all possible. The feeling of being able to have something in your physical possession is much greater then a download that may not always be there forever and could be gone before you know it.
Heck, Disney Heroes is a perfect example of that: a game that PerBlue put so much work and effort into making, only to eventually shut it down for good, so there's no way of going back to play it even just for old times.
That certainly was the feeling when Nintendo eventually shut down their services for Wii, Wii U, and 3DS. At least they are still in the business of making game cartridges, and I suppose NSO being cross-platform between Switch and Switch 2.
Speaking of which, I don't know how much hard drive space the PS5 has, but with how much memory games tend to have nowadays, I can't imagine how much room you could possibly have without a disc. And I certainly don't want to buy more memory, I got enough microSD cards already for my Switch.
