Magic fuckery and Magic Anons allowed!
I always ask for age and consent before engaging with NSFW and tagged accordingly. Please also not that I’m not NSFW heavy so keep that limited as well
Other stuff under the cut
Character(s):
Byleth, Big & Bad, new leader of The Free Pack (He/him)(Oc)
- Successor of Marchosias after his death, he found Marchosias corpse on top of the mountain.
- Very much based on Brogy, just a tiny bit.
- Ironically isn’t a *huge* science guy, that’s what Crocell is for :)
- That being said he *is* a strategist and a genuine threat. Do not think him as incompetent *ever*
Paimonia, Mercenary of The Free Pack (She/Her) (Oc)
- A mercenary paid by The Free Pack as a aid
- What exactly…is she?
- Wears a cloak that hides almost all of their features so good luck finding out (for now)
Crocell, head of research (They/them) (Oc)
- Took over Marchosias’s research when he died
- Possibly the most vengeful out of all remaining free pack members, see’s Byleth as idiotic but recognizes the danger he brings
Scylla and Charybdis (Not ocs!!!!)
- Twins once separated now reunited
- Charybdis has a hard time speaking now on account of being severly affected with rot, so he is learning sign language

*Byleth decided enough time had past for him to rest up, although he hasn't fully recovered from his injuries after the battle with Marchosias, and a part of him doesn't want to talk to Yngya. But, he must do what he must…*
Byleth: Yngya, are you there?
Wolf. Why do you call for me?

Amongst the rubble of the bombed citadel, three figures searched through what remained of it. One of them let out a stiffled yawn, hand over her mouth as she grew discontent with this task.
"I don't see why we have to come here…" Sgain commented, twirling her vines around her fingers.
A thorny starfish let out a low chuckle, eye peering through the rubble.
"Now, now, my lovesick friend, we were given this task on Moria's orders…and I rather not get stabbed through the heart~"
Sgain let out a lovely sigh. "Ah yes, the heart…there is why my lord lies…"
She let out a low giggle, hands on her cheeks as they flushed a deep color. Nergal didn't care for the fact he was ignored, for there were more important matters at hand. His eyes growing with intrigued as they noticed something from the rubble.
"Well look at this…" he reached to pick up a vial with ichor in it, a icy smile on his face as he gives it a good examine. "Those lambs surely did us a favor…both with getting rid of the wolves and missing this…"
The plant being tilted her head, body swaying as she walked over.
"Save to say," Nergal continued, tossing the vial between hands. "Abbadon will be pleased…"
A quick Marchosias doodle I did last night. I know I have that wip comic with him, but I might not finish that until I get to that point in my fic series (which will likely take over a year)
[Tariel phases through the door of the cellar to check up on Qabil and Habil. One of the perks of being a ghost - there is no need to open squeeking doors unless you want to carry something in or out of the room.]
(Please be asleep, please be asleep)
{@spool-bearer}
*Qabil was wide awake as Tariel phased through the door, Habil on the other hand was sleeping, his head resting on his brother's shoulders.*
Qabil: ....
Qabil: If you come to pull out another of my teeth I hope you have more of that yarrow..
"No. And I'm sorry to do this in front of your. . . Boyfriend? Lover? I can see you two are close. Though, you have to be more kind to Habil. He cares a lot about you."
"I'm actually here to bring news. We killed Marchosias. His heart devoured by Cold Mother."
Qabil: Well, I don't know
Qabil: Pretty sure Byleth will *officially* take the role as leader, but thats assuming he's not going to be killed or something.
"As far as I know, Byleth is being treated at the moment."
[Tariel is silent for a second, choosing his next words carefully]
"I will call our High Priest to look at you and decide your fate from after he's in condition to do so. I'm sure I can vouch for Habil's relative innocence but as for you."
[He turns to the brown wolf]
"I need you to answer a couple questions for me to make up my mind about you. First:
What is the reason you chose to follow the Free Pack? Make sure to answer truthfully and wholly."
Qabil: It was better than being in Kallamar's blasted cult…
He scowled, angry and bitter as he recalls memories.
Qabil: Habil and I were meant to be sacrifices for the betterment of the god of pestilence, but before that, we were mere test subjects…
Qabil: When we were about to be sacrificed, Byleth came and saved us.
Qabil: He promised us a life without the torment of crownbearers and their enablers.
Qabil: I'll admit…things seemed alittle sketchy when Marchosias used the defilers of the divine…but at the time, I just wanted my brother and I to be free…
[Tariel exhales heavily as the last lingering flies of doubt leave his mind]
"You actually just answered my next question too. Good. Now, get some rest until morning comes. I'm sure we will find a way for you to make it up to us for attacking our village by then."
[Tariel rises and was about to leave the room when he remembers something]
"Oh, please. It's not like we will make you wear maid outfits. Although I bet you two would look veeeery cute~."
[Tariel chuckles at the idea. Before swating it away like a fly.]
"Also you don't need to worry about being stared at by anyone but me. Most will celebrate our victory. Plus it will be a holy day, so it will be just you two and one other troublemaker on site."
*A lamb with a red fleece and a black snake with a single red eye steps into the cavern, walking up to Byleth*
Hello Byleth, my name is Asha. Thank you for protecting the Cold Mother despite all we lambs have done to your pack. I am forever sorry for the pains the decisions our people made. Come, there is someone in the temple who I think you'd like to see.
@the-lambs-eternal-order
(He gets to meet the wifey~)
*Byleth let out a awkward chuckle, rubbing the temple of his head.*
Byleth: Nice to meet you Asha,
Byleth: Uhm, help me up please...*he says, wincing as he slowly got up.*
*Asha giggled softly, helping Byleth up. Once he was on his feet he could see just how much shorter she was than him*
I understand you have a bit of a history with crowbearers and I'm sure the sight of the Red Crown might be a bit upsetting but I am not here for your soul. I will lead your father's to a place of peace I assure you.
*She takes his hand and leads him to one of the portals back to Woolhaven*
Do not fear the lambs in town. They will not hurt you while I am here. I wish we were meeting on better circumstances but I guess that is what happens when I only find out about my wife's little brother when she's left to fight in a war I thought was over.
Here, this will help with the pain. Its understandable, you've grown up with his ideals and instead of trying to listen to his adult child, who I'm told is a wonderful warrior in his own right, your father decided he would rather die while holding onto a belief built out of pain and rage.
*Asha grabbed a warm rag and started to gently clean Byleth up*
I understand if you wouldn't want to but you are Thorna's little brother and you are part of our family. There is a place for you in our village. We of the New Faith would love to have you, you could choose what you wish to do. I would never force you to pray day in and day out. You could meet your nephews...
*Asha giggled softly, starting to treat his injuries*
You do, three wonderful little boys. Webber is our eldest, we adopted him when he stumbled into the village. Then there's the twins, Aym and Baal. They keep our hands full for sure but we love them dearly. They would adore you.
*She gently tied some bandages around his chest to stabilize his ribs*
I'm a little surprised Thorna didn't tell you about us. She always seems so proud to talk about the family. Granted she never told us about you or her relation to the Free Pack. Then I get word from a mole my wife is here in Woolhaven, heavily injured and her brother is in the middle of a war.
*She reaches over and pulls aside another curtain, Thorna resting behind it. She was covered in bandages and stitches*
Thorna: In my defense, if my father found out about you he would have attacked the village.
*Thorna sat up more with Asha's help, reaching over to take her brother's hand*
Thorna: I did what I had to do to protect you and the pack. When you were little I left, I know I told you that night it was because father was sending me on a mission but I told you that to protect you from his anger. He sent me away, the white of my fur reminded him too much of the sheep who poisoned our home and he couldn't stand to look at me anymore. When I was nearly sacrificed to Leshy, Asha saved my life. We founded the village we live in now. She's our leader and I'm her high disciple, we got married not long after the ritual but before we adopted Webber. I wanted to come home and tell you, bring you to the village to live but the last time I came up here I was attacked by a few wolves loyal to Father.
Asha: Being the bearer of the red crown and a cult leader puts you in charge of a lot of people so I'm grateful for her help every day.
Thorna: When the war started again I came here to warn the Cold Mother, it's the only reason that they didn't kill you right away. I begged her not to kill you. When Sariel was taken she called me to find him and then when I returned to the pack she asked me to find out a weakness. That's why I blew up the machine, so Father nor Crocell could use it to kill her or Asha. I couldn't leave a god killing machine out there when my wife is the literal Goddess of Death. When I went to get you and get us back to the village safely a few of the pack who are loyal to Crocell found me. We fought and I escaped here to beg the Cold Mother to get you out of the fortress to keep you alive, even if keeping you safe and alive cost my life.
*Thorna smiled softly, shifting to hold her little brother in a tight hug as she gently ran his claws through his fur*
Thorna: I understand, you're the leader of the pack now. You're all grown up, a strong warrior in your own right. I know you'll do right by the pack, that you'll keep them safe. I am so proud of you.
*Asha sat beside the two, smiling at them*
Asha: You and the Free Pack will always be welcome by those of the New Faith and our village will always have a place for you. Be it to visit, trade or even stay for a while you will have a home with us.
-there's a shift in the woods nearby.... a cautious presence lets its voice be carried a little to be heard.-
So.... I must ask... with the heathen who tries to distort natural order with his monsterus experiments gone... what will you all do? I wish to know.... whether I should still hate you all or not.
@ask-darkwood-hunter
(Hiiii! Hope im not causing problems feel free not to awnser if I am! Just wanted to throw an ask!)
Byleth was lying against a pillow, sipping a cup of camellia tea.
After some of my pack members do community service, I'm looking to negotiate with Yngya and her disciples—something my father should have done. Though, perhaps it's wishful thinking that they'd even consider listening to a word I have to say, nor would they want us to *stay* on Mt. ewefalls.
We cannot go back into the bishops' lands for we very much became wanted for "treason" against their idealogy and things might get tense if I ask Yngya if we could stay. Which is why I am open to negoiations...especially since they might get wise and realized The Free Pack had dwindled in numbers...
Rest assured, we will correct the mistakes my father made, rather or not we're still crossed with Woolhaven
So your gonna become wanderers most likely? Not the most surprising... whats going to happen with all the.... experiments? And his results? The crimes against nature he committed won't go away easily. Nor will the consequences that follow.
Look, I don't know *exactly* you would like us to do...
I only know about his experiments regarding the rot (the rot created by the sheep btw) to find a cure. I don't believe he would experiment for shits and giggles, only if it served a purpose.
We are already dealing with the consequences, both of our own hands and of our actions handed over by the father that disowned me during battle...but we do intend to make amends
That will not be easy you know. Especially since doing so requires you to go against the very beliefs he followed. Many travlers have been hurt for there beliefs. Because marchois hated any and all gods. Even the people who never raised a blade and followed out of fear not devotion were punished for their... "worship." And his belief that he was righteous in anything he did as long as it progressed his goal of "freeing the world from God's" hurt others not even involved. Traders who were somewhere at the wrong time. Those are who you need to make it up to. So the big question is.... are you being Ernest and truthful... or are you tricking yourself and others like he did. And I'll say it straight. The Honesty path will be much more painful.
*Byleth furrowed a eyebrow, not apperciating some of the words spoken.*
My father may have allowed pride, and eventually rage, into his head, but he wasn't wrong about this world caters to crownbearers, the same crownbearers who used their powers to abuse and control others, sacrificing others to satiate their lust for power and greed for devotion. The few sacrifices he made was for the benefit of The Free Pack.
What happened to Charybdis was wrong, but it was either him or let The Free Pack be infected quicker, and most wolves actually consented to it, you can call their spirits and ask.
And the travelers you speak of…you sound so sure that they were mere travelers, and not missionaries or spies working for The Old Faith? — which I may need to add that even the Woolhaven sheep wouldn't have apperciated being on this mountain the same way they didn't apperciate us — we wolves have keen senses, we see a member of the old faith when we see one, and when we see one, we defend ourselves…
*Byleth slowly got up.*
And you have the gall to claim they are being killed for their beliefs when they want us dead for not groveling to the feet of crownbearers, and if that makes me a blind fool, then so be it….The Free Pack will happily make amends, but bowing before a god we shall not…
HOW MANY HAVE YOU STRAPPED WITH BOMBS AND SENT TO DIE?! you say you stand against mindless obedience but your father filled the pack with nothing but obsession and belief that there deaths are for the greater good! The edges of my hunting grounds are fertilized with the disposaed corpses of his "mistakes"! And the sacrifices he forced others to take benefited no one! You belive gods are damnible monsters while you erect idols to a mad man who rips into the flesh of his own pack and starves them so they are ravenous warriors! Ive been here before the rot! And so has he! The madman who has others bow down and fawn over him while spouting about freedom! Your free pack carrys hypocrisy in its very name! You! Are! Not! Free!
His and your sins are not few. And you did not defend yourself. You massacred with the veil of self defense. I was right. The free pack isn't going to change.
*Byleth crossed his arms, clawed finger tapping against his forearm. He let out a light chuckle at the end of the hunters triad*
I don't really care if your right or not, The Free Pack are still survivors of crownbearers torment, and if you don't believe we can change, thats on you more than me.
Furthermore, you came to me in the middle of me grieving, because despite the crimes he commited, he was my father...
I think we're done here. Please leave me alone. *He says sitting back down, slightly disheartened.*
-they pinch the bridge of there nose calming down.-
Not once did I say you didn't suffer.... and never did i ask you to apologize to the gods or even there high disciples. I was saying that.... many people cowering in fear and only obeying for the sake of living.... people who are like how you used to be... we're killed for it. And I wanted to know if you all really care to repent or if your just lying... I... think you dont realize the depths of the things he's done. Or your just not facing it because he was family.
..... and that part... I do feel sorry about. But I didn't want to wait. Considering you dont likely have much time. If you truly.... truly do wish to try.... well my section of the forest welcomes vagabonds. Im willing to extend a hand. Even if only to make sure no one takes up his mantle. I just have a bit of a... dislike for his distortion of the natural laws... and trust me sariel and yngnyas other high disciples are even higher on my list of hatred.
*he sighs* I am aware of the things he's done, I do not deny any of it. But it wasn't just me and my father that was angry at Woolhaven -- it was the entire free pack, even *if* sometimes things had to be taken to drastic measures with the defilers of the dive... they were still grateful towards him for freeing them. They are like the disciples, they'd do *anything* for Marchosias, even killing themselves for him.
...I apperciate that, really. Though the free pack and I lack faith and trust in gods, no offence.
But regardless of your lack of belief, The Free Pack *will* change. that is my will...
Do you not see the problem in what your saying? They'd do anything for him? Even die? That blind faith and loyalty you despise the gods for using.... nevermind. Over time hopefully you'll look back and see that..... marchois had become what he hated. People being willing doesn't mean whats being done is right...
As for the gods.... yeah no your right. The current gods are..... scum. No other word. Imora and yngya are the exception. Though even they have problems. And I hope you do change.
I wasn't lying about offering safety though. It may be part of darkwood but its not leshys domain.
-there's a shift in the woods nearby.... a cautious presence lets its voice be carried a little to be heard.-

-there's a shift in the woods nearby.... a cautious presence lets its voice be carried a little to be heard.-
So.... I must ask... with the heathen who tries to distort natural order with his monsterus experiments gone... what will you all do? I wish to know.... whether I should still hate you all or not.
@ask-darkwood-hunter
