ENG: Shamura and Narinder shared a much more special bond compared to the other Bishops. However, because they were so close, they trusted each other far too much, which ultimately led them to inflict the deepest wounds upon one another.

샤무라와 나린더는 각별했던 사이였죠. 하지만 너무나도 각별했기에 서로를 너무나도 믿었고, 결국 서로에게 가장 큰 상처가 되버렸습니다...

ENG: I absolutely love their narrative, as I've always loved tragic stories much more than happy, everyday tales. Also, remembering how Narinder said of Shamura, "Once, they were the brightest of us," I deliberately depicted Shamura as shining brilliantly before the injury, and completely devoid of that light afterward. It is truly horrifying and heartbreaking that such a brilliant intellect was intentionally destroyed by the one they trusted most, leaving them unable to ever shine again. Honestly, I don't think Shamura naturally has an emotional, fiercely mothering personality that takes care of others… However, I intentionally drew them with a much warmer and cozier demeanor to create a stark contrast with the bloody, post-battle illustration that follows.

저는 그래서 이 둘의 서사를 정말 좋아해요. 왜냐하면 저는 비극적인 이야기를 좋아하거든요. 나린더가 샤무라에 대해 “한때 샤무라는 우리 중 가장 빛나는 존재였다”라고 말한 걸 기반으로 샤무라가 부상을 입기 전에는 눈부시게 빛나다가, 그 후에는 그 빛이 완전히 사라진 모습으로 그렸어요. 그 뛰어난 지성이 가장 신뢰하던 이에게 의도적으로 파괴되어 빛을 발할 수 없게 되었다는 사실은 정말 끔찍하고 가슴 아픈 거 같아요(그래서 오히려 좋아ㅋㅋㅋ) 사실 샤무라는 감정적이고 엄마처럼 누군가를 열정적으로 챙기는 성격이 아니라고 생각하지만... 그 다음에 올 피가 낭자한 전투 이후의 그림과 대조시키기 위해서 일부러 포근한 모습으로 그렸네요ㅎㅎㅎ

New sprites for Marchosias and a fun detail

Marchosias' sprites literally refer to him as: Wolf Cult Leader. Which is a great irony considering that he supposedly hates cults and yet they refer to him as a Cult Leader.

Add new GIFs of the other Marchosias encounters and his rotten version.

I also wanted to explain that this Marchosias sprite was intended for a fourth encounter, but it ended up not being used.

Hello, Sina!!! :DD

I've been thinking about the Goat again, theorizing. In Purgatory, Shamura looks like they were disemboweled. Narinder's hell-realm has him with but a head. Therefore: the Lamb was beheaded, the Goat was disemboweled. The Lamb died because they were innocent. The Goat died as a possible punishment. The Lamb's the last of their kind, chronologically. What if the Goat wasn't? First to be slain, warning the flock of the alternate-universe Bishop's genocide. A grisly example for future offenders to heed. Disemboweled and left to bleed, as sinners/traitors must. Canon depicts them as a sort of war-god, but my interpretation (in one specific universe-tangle's) more like:

The Lamb's domains: - death - revenge/mercy, justice - memory - grief - redemption -and purity. The Goat's domains: life, war, punishment, rebellion, in turn, the forgotten, the heretics and misfits, those who die and aren't mourned.

ENG: Wow, you have such an amazing headcanon!!! I also thought they died by being disemboweled because of the Goat statues with their chests split open and ribs exposed. We're on the exact same page about this lol.

Also, the idea that "if the Lamb was the last victim, the Goat was the very first victim"—I hadn't even thought of that! Even though their parallel universe would naturally work in reverse, it completely slipped my mind. It's so cool!!! ​However, I think I have to take a slightly different path with my headcanon here, unfortunately. If the Goat died trying to warn everyone about the massacre the Bishops were going to commit, I feel like they would never make a pact with Shamura. I have a headcanon where they did make a pact with Shamura, so our theories clash a bit on that front. But yours is still such a wonderful headcanon!!! ​And regarding Shamura, I always thought their domains were knowledge, war, and betrayal. If you think about it, Shamura's power turns your precious followers into heretics, so I figured their ability represents betrayal. Thank you so much for breaking down Shamura and the Goat's powers in such detail and sharing them with me!

Actually, there is no official description stating that Narinder was decapitated. However, his character design features a blood-red line drawn right below his head—much like the other injured Bishops—and given the fact that his vessel, the Lamb, was executed via beheading, many people implicitly assume that his head must have been severed as well. I am one of those people.

​In the past, I came across a "scarecrow theory" on Reddit, which suggested that Narinder's actual body was left behind in the mortal realm, and that only his face and a scarecrow-like body exist within the Gateway. I found it really interesting and supported it. Additionally, Shamura's quote, "five gods and one tomb," was interpreted to mean that while the five gods exist, a tomb for Narinder exists as well, which solidly backed up that theory.

​However, it was recently revealed in an AMA that he was sent to the Gateway "clutching his claws," which left me a bit confused for a while. Right now, I'm just mulling over the lore again and trying to reorganize my own theories.

​Anyway, that is the reason why—you definitely didn't miss anything!!!

incidentally, my own (admittedly gross) take on the Lamb's status is that they're revived/animate, not alive like a regular follower would be. i.e. that's why they don't need to eat or sleep - they just gather power/energy from devotion, and once the devotion's ingested, fervor! just. a corpse that suspiciously resembles a child, preserved by their Crown. when Woolhaven came out, and Yngya was revealed to be.. essentially trapped in a necrotic, rotting shell, I was like: hey, that's my own Leader-theory! wait a moment. NEW NARRATIVE PARALLELS UNLOCKED.

Haha, did my suddenly long reblog addition surprise you? Someone was wondering about the severed head in the tags, so I just added some context to explain it to them.

​Wow, the idea that they don't need to eat or sleep—not because they're an immortal God of Death, but because they're already a corpse—is such an amazing take! I actually saw a lore drop in an AMA saying that Narinder's kiss tastes like a corpse. If the original God of Death himself is like that, why would the Lamb be any different?? Haha.

"However, the reason I drew the Lamb with such a relaxed smile this time is because the long, exhausting conflict with the Bishops and Narinder is finally over, and they've made a fresh start" <- YES! the rest of their followers will continue to pester and praise them, and - depending on the timeline - there's Marchosias and Yngya to negotiate with, but. they're thriving, not just surviving, in this depicted-instant! and the nod to the purified-relics was clever, too.

ENG: I made a pattern of the chibi Bishops! I'm currently planning out my another cotl fan book, and honestly, I'm not sure if I'll actually use it for that lol, but it did turn out pretty cute.

(!) right. based upon your earlier comics, I assumed your swift-slashed linework and scattered, eye-nabbing colors were inherently pleasing to anyone's sight (and thus good by virtue of it being your work. if that makes sense? 🤔😅). maybe it's because--

even in your goriest works, it's often shown as the aftermath of the massacres. the huddled, crying followers, the Gods' eldritch forms, cut down. the silence after all the blood's wept out. the panels of the duels themselves are brief-scribbly snapshots. chaotic as carnage must be. a still from a greater tale, a scene from the game, caught and nailed to the canvas (figuratively speaking).

but thank you for heeding my request, and interpreting it in such an adorable way!! his casually curled figure, snoring in that twig-snappy way. the camellia crowning him slumped yet blooming still. his little segmented tail!! -and the Lamb, resting, peaceful, at last. UwU is a crude emoticon, but I hope the detail-talk suffices. and though their default expression's a smile, they don't smile like that often (only after capturing a heretic's heart, or gifting goods to cherished followers). the splayed wings of their cloak, frail as Leshy's wrinkle-worn shirt. the suggestion of shade!! sprawling over the canvas like the whole piece was photographed upon a summer's sigh, or splattering the verdant sprawl of colors like paint--subtlest of paints! the blush adorning our Lamb's cheeks (and Leshy's?? awww??? yeah!!) his crooked antlers, or antennae, or beautiful, follower-frail horns! their ever-watchful Crown, peeking over their head at Something or Someone or the followers- in-universe and out- that are viewers. and yet.. the Crown's not baring its prongs. the Lamb's weird little hoof-hands, splayed over their belly. softest of flesh, exposed. Leshy, cocoon-coiled, limp but not lacking energy, just orderly, for once. the idyllic atmosphere!! the.. word for "green and yellowy" grass escapes me at present, but. THAT GRASS TEXTURING AND COLOR-BLENDING- 🫵📣🧎‍♂️(tosses down my dissenter's megaphone with a look of surprise..) - that glorious grass!! so simple on details, but scribbled with love and care, no matter how small the moments were! 'tis glorious to witness. beautiful. may this essay spark joy like your art did to me.

The Lamb always wears a faint smile, but it's not often you see them with a big, genuinely heartfelt one. However, the reason I drew the Lamb with such a relaxed smile this time is because the long, exhausting conflict with the Bishops and Narinder is finally over, and they've made a fresh start.
