Hopefully this invite code will actually persist like it’s supposed to. For anyone who wants to share it manually, the unique ID is W6NnjxcBZD. I’m updating the older code sources now.

Yeah, okay, it’s a tiiiiny bit late, but whatever. It got done. And hey, I finally let them kiss! That’s not all they get up to, though, so any minors who’ve made the critical error of reading this blog: kindly get ye hence and become of age before you come back, thank you~
So here’s why I don’t think this is gonna break up Charlexa: not because it’d be stupid (we know that wouldn’t stop the writers for a moment), but because it’s not what they’re telegraphing.
And boy (Uncle) Howdy, do these guys telegraph.
Allow me to explain.
Fact: Liv Morgan’s Rumble win was predictable and signalled well in advance.
She’s in the Mania ads. She was always going to Mania. That’s what I mean by telegraphing: they showed us what was gonna happen weeks (or is it months by now?) before it actually did. No matter what Charlexa did in the Rumble, neither one of them was getting this ticket to Mania. Liv already punched it. Keep that kind of writing in mind as we continue.
Fact: Alexa wouldn’t have gone down when she did if not for Nia Jax.
Yup, here’s Nia messing with Alexa yet again. Charlotte’s effort to rescue her backfired spectacularly, but that wouldn’t have happened at all if Nia hadn’t been gunning for her in the first place. She didn’t go after the most obvious threats, she went after the beef. (I think that’s one of the longest standing beeves in the Women’s Division, at this point. Even longer than Charlynch.)
Fact: Of all the people who could’ve eliminated Charlotte, it was Lash Legend.
No way they were gonna have Charlotte win a third Rumble, much less two years in a row. Not after how badly that went over last time they tried it. They had to flip the script and try to turn Tiffy face thanks to the sheer towering heat Charlotte was catching just by existing as the first two-time victor. (And also, y’know, Charlotte Flair.) Even if you ignore the Liv victory markers Charlotte was definitely going down at some point; it was just a case of when and to whom. And they picked Lash. Yup. Lash, Nia’s tag partner.
Fact: Nia and Lash have been a thorn in Charlexa’s side for a long, long time with no resolution, and they just struck another serious blow.
This has been a clearly telegraphed feud and the babyfaces (as weird as it feels to call them that) have barely managed any significant counter to these particular heels. This storyline isn’t finished yet. We’re still waiting for the payoff. Unless reality takes a turn and one of the four involved isn’t able to continue competing, that payoff is still coming. Which means…
Fact: Even without considering Charlexa’s popularity, it’s still in creative’s interest to keep them together until the feud is resolved.
I don’t think they’re quite daft enough to throw away a perfectly good running storyline, do you?
And Finally, Opinion: They’re not going to waste their own work.
No Rumble has ever begun like this. We just saw two of the baddest heels in the history of the women’s division playing together, teasing each other, having fun until somebody arrived that they actually wanted to fight. That’s the key. These characters don’t want to fight each other. Losing the tag titles didn’t break them up. Disagreeing over War Games didn’t break them up. Charlotte getting sick and Alexa going for a title without her didn’t break them up. Even going into the Royal Rumble at 1 and 2, after they both expressed a clear desire to win, wasn’t enough to cause a serious rift between them. More than that, they spent the opening of one of the biggest PPVs of the WWE calendar making fun of the idea that they’d actually fight each other. Wrestlers! Making fun of the idea that they’d fight each other! That’s an opener we’ll probably never see again. If creative tries to break the partnership now, over what was clearly a failed rescue attempt rather than a genuine betrayal, all that work they’ve put into establishing the bond as deep and solid and meaningful will go completely to waste.
Maybe I’m naïve. Maybe I’m giving creative too much credit saying they might not be entirely fucking brainless. But I don’t think this is it, folks. I think this is fuel for the feud that is, not a new feud in its place.
i swear i'm going to update my fics eventually my main problem is that i have every chapter except the next one that needs to be published finished and so everything has to wait while i figure out the dreaded chapter 2
But she wants to, doesn’t she? Charlotte can feel it in the spring-trap coil of her partner’s body - the urge to push her away, to lash out, to scream, to do anything but be still and quiet and held.
She doesn’t know why it happens. She doesn’t know why it doesn’t happen, sometimes, after a match. Can’t explain the breathless, sweat-slick moments when Alexa softens in her arms, runs her fingertips butterfly-light over her skin, chases the lines of her muscles like a blind woman admiring a sculpture. Can’t reconcile that Alexa with the one she has now, who wants nothing more than to escape.
Seeing the puzzle in front of her doesn’t give her the tools to solve it.
“Maybe after a match is the one time I’m too tired to fight you off,” says Alexa, when she asks.
Charlotte hears the lie in her partner’s voice, and hides a smile.
Hi! Just wanted to say that I read your Charlexa fic about the piggyback incident and my god I loved it so much! The way you write Alexa yearning for Charlotte actually makes my brain buzz. Alexa wanting to touch Charlotte so much that it's all she can think about? But she's also desperately trying to push Charlotte away? GOD!
--"Cute. Like a little girl. Did it ever occur to you that I might want you to see me as a woman? Jerk. Please hold me again."--
Wow Alexa you want Charlotte so bad it makes you look stupid. (I totally understand her yup yup).
--"Her back is molten caramel poured over steel. Alexa’s mouth grows wet. Her hand hovers a half-inch from the heat of her partner’s skin. The air tastes of salt."--
Currently sending you a truckload of flowers in pumpkin-shaped flowerpots because this quote makes me wanna scream.
A-ha, you found me! I wondered if that breadcrumb trail might do the trick. I figured out belatedly why I recognised you on ao3, too; it’s that #charlexa text posts compilation, isn’t it? Not to kill the vibe, this little freak, problem with true love, no rizz just sparkly loving eyes, heart started beating again - is that right?
Anyway, welcome! Always a pleasure to supply more unbearable sapphic longing, when I can get the brain into gear.
Thank you for the flowers. Come through and see them. I’ve turned an old ruined courtyard into a flower garden - pumpkin pots everywhere, dotted around the weathered flagstones, resting on forgotten plinths, hanging from wrought iron brackets. My bees are bumbling softly from bloom to bloom. Some of them carry tiny watering cans.
(Scream all you want here, dear. The bees won’t mind.)
Alexa Bliss does not love being touched. Avoids it, where she can; enforces her space with spikes on her shoulders and an icy stare. She has long since left humanity behind. She does not need human contact.
So why - held aloft by familiar hands, pressed close to the warmth of her partner’s back, breathing the scent of her hair - why can’t she stop smiling?
“Don’t do that again,” she says as they walk through gorilla. “The piggyback. Don’t do it again.”
Charlotte seems a little taken aback. “Why not?”
Why not indeed. “Your knee,” Alexa lies, avoiding her gaze. “Duh.”
“Oh, please.” Charlotte’s dismissive wave almost hits a passing technician in the face. “I’m not that breakable. Anyway you weigh like three ounces, it’s fine.”
Yes, god, please, give her an in. Give her anything to say except you’re the only one who can touch me and you’re heaven and I’m scared. “Wow. Did I not just get done smacking a bitch for calling me tiny?”
“You say it like it’s a bad thing. I like that you’re three apples tall. It’s cute.”
Cute. Like a little girl. Did it ever occur to you that I might want you to see me as a woman? Jerk. Please hold me again. “You’re about three apples away from me practicing those chops…”
Charlotte chuckles; she knows how little Alexa means it. “Any time, babygirl,” she says, and drapes an arm around her like it’s nothing.
(It’s everything.)
Alexa walks at her side on autopilot, half-listening to her chatter away like she does when she’s high off a match. She won’t be expected to answer. That’s fine; she’s busy etching the memory of Charlotte’s hand into her upper arm, a mind’s-ink tattoo. In ten years she’ll look in a mirror, read the weight and the warmth of her partner’s touch, and travel back in time.
Cold now. The moment unravels. They’re in the locker room; Charlotte has turned away to grab her street clothes, talking about how much she adores German crowds and their fondness for clapping to a beat, mispronouncing Leipzig. Her back is molten caramel poured over steel. Alexa’s mouth grows wet. Her hand hovers a half-inch from the heat of her partner’s skin. The air tastes of salt.
Silence.
“…Lexi?”
She registers the flex of muscles before its meaning: Charlotte has turned to look at her over her shoulder. Alexa’s hand curls in on itself, a snail’s eye poked by a curious toddler, trying not to exist. “Mm?”
Sea-green eyes warm with a mixture of fondness and concern. “You can touch me, you know. I’m not gonna freak out.”
You would, thinks Alexa bitterly, if you knew what I am. “Like I do, you mean?” she bites back automatically, and instantly regrets it; Charlotte is already grimacing at the reminder of her own social ineptitude. This one wasn’t even her fault. “No, forget I said that.”
“No, you’re right,” Charlotte mutters, “that was…ugh, that wasn’t what I meant. I just…” She huffs a little sigh, tries again: “…I’m here for you, okay? Whatever you need. On your terms.”
God, she’s being so fucking gentle with her. Alexa will never, ever deserve that, and every fibre of her is screaming but I want to, I want to, I want you…
She whispers a thank you, forces half a smile, and turns away.
