Amazon Prime has started coming after me for my fanvids on youtube. They don’t just issue notifications, they go all the way to strike copyright infringements even though fan videos are considered fair use. If you’ve got fan videos, I suggest you take them down. As for this blog and the Grand Tour? I’m not spending any more time on this show and I’m certainly not giving them any more money. It is now a legacy account. As crap as the BBC could be, at least they weren’t so bloody petty. Don’t get me wrong, I grew up with Top Gear. It was a huge part of my childhood but the way Amazon runs things is going to eventually kill fandom and they’ve certainly poisoned any enjoyment I used to get out of it. I’ll wait until the DVD’s wash up in a $5 bin somewhere and maybe then I’ll finish the series.

The bbc did take down fan vids, you’ll get a copy right strike because you have taken someone else’s property and edited it and re uploaded it..

Actually they ruled long ago that fan videos come under fair use provided you do not make any money out of it after a huge backlash by youtube users a few years ago. They stopped taking them down and replaced infringements with advertising that appears either before or during videos.
It’s only listed as an infringement if you attempt to monetize the content - which of course, I do not.
The BBC doesn’t take down fanvids any more. In fact, the only country that I can think of that still blocks content is Germany.

I put together some of the best bits from The Grand Tour Season One, Drivetribe and a few related interviews :D
Richard Hammond’s crash will feature in the opening episode of The Grand Tour season 2
“when Jeremy Clarkson was in hospital, it provided medical science with a priceless opportunity to locate, identify and work out how to neutralise the twat virus, which could have helped advance society by several hundred years” (x)
A bit of fun before season 2 begins!
