So if you're consig and claim inves to the jailor and they force you to feed them results daily, would complying to avoid getting lynched be considered gamethrowing? I never ratted out any mafia members and told them who the jailor was the next night, but by the time they tried to kill them they already had protection. I was the only mafia member left and then we ended up losing and I don't know if we would've won if I just let myself be executed or?
Gamethrowing is the act of intentionally acting against your faction / victory condition. Keeping yourself alive by feeding investigation results to the town, real or not, does not necessarily do this as it lowers suspicion towards you, and is in itself not harmful to the mafia. If this passed information turns out to be used by the town against the mafia, then it’s more of a bad call than gamethrowing.
At tip I will give is to feed false records of you having checked your fellow mafia members together with your real investigations so that who you have and haven’t visited can’t be used to discern your team mates.
