Super short ficlet to pass the time/ enjoy
Title: Something in the Water
Pairing: Bakugou /Momo (naturally)
It’s not something she expects.
Very much like every single aspect of him, his laughter is loud and shocking to her senses. It’s actually more of a cackle than anything and some part of her that isn’t stunned is amused of the sight and sound. Of him clutching at his side, tears gathering in the corners of his eyes, struggling to catch his breath only coming up with broken wheezes intertwined with snickers.
“I can’t, oh fuck, I can’t believe pfft- “Bakugou succumbs into another laughing fit whilst pointing at her, singling her out to the public like she needed anymore attention.
Momo huffs lightly before attempting to lift herself out from the small pond she was currently in, if only to save herself from further embarrassment. It would appear as the spectators were beginning to realize just who was laughing and who was on their bum in the water and mud with an excited little pup running amuck. After all, it’s not every day pro-heroes of their caliber are seen out of costume.
Distracted by the sight of someone in the distance pulling out their phone, Momo’s foot slips in the slick mud and she plops back into the pond once again triggering Bakugou into yet another aggressive fit. She begins to open her mouth to say something but the pup, who had caused the fiasco by tangling Momo in her leash in the most cliché way, jumps on her lap and upper body further pushing her back into the water and sludge, eager to lick at her face in affection. It’s playful thrashing and rapid tail wagging slings mud on her and leaves paw prints on her previously clean blouse.
When she manages to get the pup to calm down a bit, she refocuses her attention to Bakugou. He finally seems to have caught his breath but his eyes are still bright and twinkling with mirth that she rarely sees outside the comfort of his apartment.
He offers his hand to her and she playfully narrows her eyes at him as if to say it’s about time before taking it, causing him to smirk.
“Come on, looks like I have two filthy girls to bathe.”
She pulls him into the pond and its her turn to laugh as the puppy wastes no time burying him in water and mud as well.
Fun fact, Bakugou named the puppy explodey, or splody for short. Momo absolutely refuses to to that to the poor creature so she calls it puppy until she can come up with a more sensible (cuter) name like marzipan, pudding or mandu.
