One year later...
One year ago, a scared Danielle went off to Italy. It was fun, but it was difficult.
But, that trip made me grow immensely. The changes in me that my abroad experience initiated will last forever, just like all these wonderful memories I have.
I miss it all! The people, the food, the language; but I am so happy with where I am now. I will be back, because my heart remains in Italia.
The strangest feeling is to see pictures of streets you know from the places youve been. Even though it seems like a lifetime ago and you cant remember well enough in your head anymore, those images invoke feelings that always stay ingrained in your heart.
Mi mancha, Siena, e l'Italia. Tanto proprio tanto...

I learned many things while Abroad, and I will never forget them. I will never forget the people, nor the beauty of Italy as a whole. I do believe I have been changed for the better...because of this all, I have been changed for good. Thank You.

IM HOME!! I will post my last few things, I promise. But right now, Im making up for all the christmas season I missed and all the family love that I have been longing for.

I would have never pictured MYSELF the way I am now either...This experience really has changed me. I wouldnt take it back for anything.
Last day in Siena, then off to Rome, and then finally home to New York.
Let us all pray that my two days of travel (to Rome and then Home) go smoothly... haha I did go to mass this morning!!
If Jetlag doesnt kill me by the time I get to Friday, I will make some final posts to my blog with wise words and pictures and maybe even a video!!

What will I miss?
I will miss the language. The beautiful way it sounds. La meravigliosa bellezza della questa lingua romanzo. I will miss the sounds of the people, la maniera che solamente gli italiani possono andare in giro invece di fare una passeggiata. The things that matter agli italiani sopratutto sono le cose della una buona vita. Cioè, relaxation, walking slowly to take it all in, taking as much time for lunch and coffee as is necessario...things like this cioè enjoying life. I will miss the way in which the italians enjoys the life they have. They do not worry about getting to the next level, the next best thing... Americans always idolize and then become unhappy when their dreams are realized because what they have is not as good as the next best thing. Rather than trying to move up always, why dont we all walk a little slower today, look at whats around us, and see the beauty in ourselves, in others, in our life right now?
Mi mancherai il cibo BUONISSIMO! If I can make meals in my life that are half as good as my host moms, I would be satisfied.
The one last thing I will miss most of all - my host mom. She has taken me in, loved me, cared for me, and made me feel loved in a world where I was all by myself. And I can never be more grateful than my tears feel now. And I can never do enough to tell her or thank her for what she means to me.
