Despite access to these "new" and efficient weapons that serve to protect governments and lords, some people work as mechanics to engineer their own, they are considered as ronin without a lord to serve and without access to the weapons if repurposed tech

Though an immortal being may become callous and detached over time, a new immortal may experience the same issue with the far greater weight as they relive their experiences as any normal human

His calculated loss spurs him to instead test the limits of his immortality to seek revenge

In a distant future where tech is persevering but science is forgotten, items from a distant past serve as important tools to humanity. They are rare and treated with the same gravity as magic, on such item is an orb that contains ai used as an oracle, it can only be used once it gains enough power from sunlight since the power plants that once fueled it no longer exist.

Oathbreaker, antihero/revenge

Two men serving higher powers, one is a warlock that violates the contract with his demon patron, the other is a paladin that breaks his oath to his god

Their paths cross several times, at the onset of the story, their initial meeting is the neutral, their second meeting is where they both choose paths away from their original destiny

The story is mostly told from the perspective of the warlock after the paladin kills an entire family under the protection of an underworld kingpin that employs him, he violates the command to not engage as the souls will feed the demon that grants him his boon

Warlock breaks the deal to save a victim and is stripped of his powers and made a target of the paladins, at the same time a paladin already on the edge answers the call of the demon and proceeds to break his oath to his god and kill the remaining townspeople

The now ex warlock will have to redeem himself without the aid of his demonic powers while seeking revenge on the group of paladins, he will eventually take on an oath of vengeance to assist him in the end closer to the climax where he will eventually prove himself the victor

In the same disaster that takes his right arm, a young man also loses his family to an uncontrolled blaze. Handicapped in his youth, similarly so with regards to magical capacity, he struggles make do but does so with exacting precision.

His adaptability and his goal fuel his will to live, once he finds the source of his family's untimely demise he will reevaluate his direction.

From discovery to revenge, he will come into contact with acquaintances that will later come to his aid but he has few he sees more often and even less he sees frequently.

That being said there is one character he will go out of his way to see every single time.

By the end of the first story he will have discovered the cause of his family's deaths, the loss of his arm.

By the end of the second story he will have gotten his arm back.

By the end of the third story he will have his revenge, changing the course of history.
