Reminder for people who have watched the English promo for Total Drama that it’s possible the animation was completed before Christian Potenza was able to record his lines. It’s entirely plausible they got someone to stand in for him because they wanted to use that exact clip of Chris McLean and that Christian recorded the actual dialogue for the show later on. Not everything shown in trailers makes it into the final product and there haven’t been any announcements to say that Christian is stepping down so it’s possible that he just wasn’t able to record the trailer dialogue around his other commitments but is still voicing Chris in the actual series.

Some interesting things Christian said during the live:

-it was cartoon network, not fresh, that said there wasn't an audience for a reality show parody anymore and that they wanted content targeted towards younger demographics and that fresh was always open to continuing the original series. He also implied it was mostly CN who wanted reunion taken down

-he found out about the show coming back at the same time as us, he got a text from Deven Mack, the guy who voices Chef in dramarama, telling him the news, so everything's still in the development stage and he hasn't read any scripts or anything yet

-he started the live by talking about how for the past couple of years he was dealing with depression and then recently lost both of his parents, and then soon after that the reunion drama happened and he talked about how he got a lot of hateful comments and death threats. While he was talking about this, No/ahh popped in the chat and said "oh boy a reboot that nobody asked for" and everyone else in the chat was like "SHUT UP NO/AHH" lmao

- yeah i mean CN is a bigger corp so that kind of makes sense? Still even if it was CN fresh made the final call. Must have smthn to do w contracts or smthn.

- wrow that means like the show’s not even completely made, hopefully we’ll get details soon. I wonder if chef’s new VA is gonna voice chef i dont think he does a bad job at it (i have only watched one ep of dramarama to be fair)

The same happened with like the michael thing in 2013 and he ends up getting the heat of the fanbase bc fresh always has him come out. And ofc noahh had to be a dick about it at the wrong moment lol.
