so who wants to thread with everyone’s least favorite snake girl. like for a paragraph starter, capping at 3 and castmates are exempt from the cap
Wait, I'm... Dead? [AV open]
“Heh. It looks to me like you can handle yourself just fine, little girl.”
That voice…was not friendly. Rather, it was not unfriendly by definition, but it did not have the ring to it that would come from someone who wishes to treat their conversation partner as a friend. It was a sweet voice filled with experience and wisdom, smooth and silky from ages of weathering and use.
A single clawed hand reached down and tugged at the girl, pulling her free from the grip she had on the bare leg of the incredibly tall woman who stood before her. With one hand, she forced the panicking young lady to stand up, then turned her around to look at what she had done. The dead beast still stood there, as if trying to continue its rampage.
“Poor Nadeko. I’d say that you do not need my help at all.”
This time, it sounded like the voice was teasing her. Behind the girl, the sorceress stood, smiling down at her, making sure she saw what she had done. It was important that the image burned itself into the girl’s mind, so that she understood her own strength. Important for her, and important for her current company.
Her hand was still on Nadeko’s shoulder, almost as if she were comforting her, offering her asylum while showing her the grotesque action she had taken. It was the touch of a loving parent, a guardian who wished to let their charge know of their own strengths, of all of the things they could accomplish in this world.
Black wings fluttered, trailing ebony feathers around the two of them, creating a soft, pillowy carpet for them to walk on. With a soft motion, Ultimecia trailed the claw of her forefinger across Nadeko’s cheek, turning her head so that it now faced the sorceress. Deep golden eyes bored their way into the young girl’s, a smile softening the beautiful, yet terrible features of the tall woman.
“Now, then, little Nadeko. What kind of a sorceress are you, creating such a thing and using it on your enemy? What are you so scared of? ¢συℓ∂ ιт вє you are terrified of your own abilities?”
there was something wrong with the woman, even she could tell that simply from the way she lifted her up, and the stereotypical villainess claws didn't do much for her image either. but the way she spoke sounded genuine, even if she'd seemingly recieved the wrong message from what Nadeko had said.
as she was forced around, she saw what she'd done, what her power had done. it was a grotesque sight to force upon a girl as young as her, even if she was the one who caused it. that's right, this was caused by her own power, she'd thought that Mr. Kuchinawa was the one who had done all of this, but here, she couldn't even feel his presence inside her head, which could mean only one thing. this power was her own, and not someone else's.
the hand on her shoulder felt oddly comforting, despite its clawed appearance, as if to suggest that she could in fact trust the woman. she didn't seem friendly, but she didn't seem unfriendly, and she had helped her realize that the strength was her own.
but as the woman turned Nadeko around to face her, the next question hit the nail on the head
"last time I had this power," she muttered, "I wasn't able to help anybody, even as a god, I ended up hurting the people I cared about, and now that I have it again, I- I don't want to hurt anybody anymore."
An Ex-Monster Rejects Death [Open]
Accelerator now found himself on his ass. Knocked over by a little girl. It was at times like this he really missed his permanent reflection. In days gone by this girl would have been thoughtlessly bounced away by his reflection. Today, however, she ran in to the monster of frail constitution and put him on his ass.
"Kh…" With this frustrated noise Accelerator pushed himself back to a vertical base with the use of his cane, looking over in annoyance at the girl. It did not escape his notice that this white haired girl had snakes coming from and liberally wrapped around her body.
What set of rules did this place operate by, Accelerator wondered.
Before he could ask anything of the girl a more immediate concern came out from the darkness. A shambling, rotted mass that was at least humanoid in shape but appeared to have lost anything else that could call it human. A true monster. And it wasn’t alone, others appeared with it. Many more were clustered behind it.
"What kind of B-Movie crap is this?" Accelerator had seen and caused worse. He wasn’t shocked, he didn’t have to deny what he was seeing, this was simply another circumstance of the shitty situation he found himself in.
He forcefully brushed aside the girl to stand in front of her.
"Oi. Don’t do anything stupid. I won’t even need a minute." A stern warning. He then reached up to the collar on his neck and flipped the switch. A small whine came from the device. Accelerator stretched out his free hand in front of him.
This situation happened to be ideal for him. With his hand “touching” the air it was his to manipulate. Taking the wind in the area and bending it to his will, a mini-tornado simply appeared in front of him. And just like that, it roared forward and in to the horde. As to not completely destroy the boardwalk itself Accelerator was manipulating the small sized tempest not to exert its force beneath it. To anyone happening to watch this spectacle it would look like a tornado shaped bowling ball gliding over the boardwalk to knock over the undead pins.
Not needing to rip the bodies apart the aim was to blow them away in to the surrounding waters and beyond. With this achieved, he flipped the switch back to “Normal” and that was that.
"Now," he turned back to the girl like nothing had happened. "As much as I hate asking brats to talk." He lied to begin their interaction, he found himself already missing a certain brat talking to him about nothing. "Can you tell me anything about what’s going on here?"
the boy's arm strength wasn't that great as he pushed nadeko away, but it was enough, especially with her legs as broken as they were. she barely had enough strength to stand, let alone resist being shoved to the side, which as it turned out was good, because the next second, a tornado appeared, sprouting from the boy's hand before flinging itself into the group of zombies, sending them scattering into the waters below, it truly was an awe inspiring sight, not only because it was a spectacle to the eyes, but because the boy was using such a destructive power to help someone and not hurt them. if he could do that, did it mean that she could as well? could she actually use this power that had plagued her for so long to help instead of harm?
interrupting her thought process, the boy asked a question about what was going on, a subject she had just as little knowledge on as he did.
"I know that we're both dead," she told him, "and I know this is some kind of bizarre afterlife."
the snakes that had wrapped around her body retracted, returning her hair to her original color as she spoke, forcing her legs to support themselves, and causing her to fall back on her butt. the characteristic hunger that she experienced whenever she returned to normal out in full force. her legs would heal, but not before she ate something.
"um," she muttered, "could I have a bit of help, I'm so sorry to trouble you, but I won't be able to move until I eat something, and there isn't anything within arms reach."
An Ex-Monster Rejects Death [Open]
"Nnng…"
Accelerator let out a vaguely irritated noise. He instinctively reached for the collar around his neck to check the switch. He was currently “Normal.” He opened his eyes to an unfamiliar ceiling, a battered industrial one. If he had to hazard a guess, he’d say he was in an unpleasant warehouse.
As he regained his senses, the last thing he could remember hit him like a truck. While Accelerator had escaped the darkness himself, the rest of Academy City hadn’t got the memo yet. While fending off some rotten bastards who undoubtedly thought they could make a name off of him somehow he… had made a mistake? He could remember being shot down out of the air, his reflection having failed him for reasons unclear, staring at the tear-stained face of a certain little brat.
But that can’t be right. He wasn’t dead. Even if every part of him was telling him that he was right now, it was something Accelerator would not accept as “right.” He clicked his tongue and struggled to his feet, relying on his cane to keep him steady. He still needed things like that to keep him functioning apparently.
"Fuck that," he spat in to the cold air. "If this is death, God sure has a shitty sense of humour."
Striding (as best as Accelerator can at least) out of the warehouse the pale reformed monster found himself in an area with plenty of them. He had experience with areas like this in the slums of Academy City during his time submerged in the darkness, but something felt wrong. Very wrong. And if something felt very wrong to Accelerator, it was indeed very very wrong.
He tapped on his collar. He didn’t have a great deal of time to play with and wasn’t sure how much of it he’d need. Looks like he’d have to do some regular investigating for now.
"What a pain in the ass." With that complaint Academy City’s Strongest, now dead, Monster wandered off in the direction of The Boardwalk.
how had she gotten so lost? she'd been running from the zombies and somehow managed to get herself to these docks, and had no idea how to get back to the ruined house she'd been using as a makeshift shelter.
and the zombies were still chasing her too, figuring she could use what looked like a bridge in to get across the lake and potentially choke off some of the zombies
unfortunately, that didn't go as well as she would have liked it to, as what she thought was a bridge had in fact turned out to be the end of a boardwalk, meaning, it only went out into the ocean, which was how she found herself in this rather unfortunate situation. about 50 zombies between her and dry land, and no way out other than jumping into the ocean below. she vaguely knew how to swim from that one time Koyomi-onii-chan had started to teach her, but she was too far out, she wouldn't make it. she'd have to fight her way through, use the powers that she so hated.
her hair changed colors, starting to move on it's own to lightly wrap around her joints. she'd push her way through in an instant, keep herself from using her powers as much as possible
she slammed her food down with a bang, using the pulse flowing through her body to throw a punch into the zombie in front of her. she could feel her bones shatter as the snakes wrapped around her joints pushed her body past her limits. but she couldn't let that stop her. she bolted through the hole in the ranks of the zombies moving as fast as she could to get through.
it was only when she'd made it 50 meters past the zombies that she bothered to look back, long enough to run into a passerby, knocking them both to the ground
"sorry!" she cried, pulling herself up, "I didn't mean to. please forgive Nadeko!"
A black knight
Survive. Live. Don’t become prey.
The heavily armored knight was surrounded by the local predators. Their snarling, growling presence was only to once more challenge him to live. These danger beasts, overcome with the parasites now making their mutated bodies move and do their work, had already claimed others before him.
The knight stood proud, but focused. His senses keen, he didn’t allow a single opening to happen on him as the beasts circled around him. The dark of the night concealing most of their vile bodies. However, the man was calm. Through his life had withstand many perils, and he was not planning to allow his former master’s teachings be for naught.
One of the pack’s members becomes impatient, the feel of constant starvation forces it to make a rash action as it leaped towards the surrounded man with fangs and claws.
As it came within arm length, in the time of a single heartbeat, the knight swept with his arm. The carcass and the parasite within it cleaved into two. His heart was still calm. He had the same heartbeat a minute as before. It was beyond the beasts understanding, for they had not witnessed when the knight adorned his armor. But the knight is wearing the king of all beasts, remains of the legendary Tyrant. It’s fierce and adaptive nature still posses the armor it was crafted from.
The knight dashed towards one of the other danger beasts. What happen then could be described as carnage. The sound of flesh tearing, howls of pain quickly followed by silence. Roars of rage.
Dominate. Overpower. Rules of nature.
The black knight’s fists were covered in dark grime, dripping down from his knuckles as he clenched his fist. His heartbeat did not change. He carried no ill will towards these creatures. They tried to survive, just like he did. But in a world without laws, where chaos rules, only the strongest gets to live for the next day. A world without laws and compassion, a world where the weak can no longer live with the strong. A sad reality.
Through the rubble of the surroundings, he heard a faint sound. His focus turning to the direction of where the sound came from.
" Is- Is anyone there!? Do you hear me!? " He shouted in a hasty fashion, as he dug through the debris. Throwing away rubble like LEGO, for only did he wish they were safe. ” Are you alright!? Do you need medical attention!? “
Were they hiding from the monsters of the night? Were they wounded? He could only pray it was another person, one he could save. Oh how he prayed they were just hiding from the dangers of the night.
Please don’t let him be too late, again.
these things were fortunately not as prevalent as the human zombies. if they were she would probably be long dead by this point. well kind of dead, her immortality had returned to her after she had died or something along those lines. she didn't even have time to try and figure out how it worked as she ran away from one of them.
even with the snakes from her hair acting as springs to push her forward she was still having a hard time outrunning the things chasing after her. maybe it would be possible to get to higher ground to avoid them though, and the building in front of her seemed like it would be the best place to do just that
a well timed jump combined with the force of the snakes assisting her would send the girl flying to the top of the building. unfortunately her jump was anything but well timed. she felt bones shatter as she crashed through the building, ending up in a heap of rubble on the other side.
on one hand, she was buried far enough in the rubble that the beasts wouldn't be able to find her, but on the other, she'd taken enough damage that she'd probably be stuck in on place for a couple hours while she healed.
the wait was agonizing, even after she had completely healed, the beasts just didn't leave, they were too persistent. she'd have to wait for someone to help her.
fortunately she didn't have to wait long, as she could hear loud roars before silence, someone had probably defeated the beasts.
her thoughts were confirmed as the rocks above her started moving as if to free her from the "prison" she'd landed herself in.
she waited as the man moved the rocks away, finally launching herself at the man's feet as he moved the last rock
"Heeeere's Nadeko!"
Wait, I'm... Dead? [AV open]
she opened her eyes with a gasp. what had happened. she remembered attacking kaiki, but nothing that happened afterwards. she'd finally found a dream, but then it had been taken from her. she'd given up being a god to become a manga artist, but had never even gotten a chance to try.
and even the world she'd been brought to was entirely desolate, even if she continued to draw manga, she'd never be able to have people read it.
but she'd have to feel sorry for herself later, she had to focus on finding something, or somebody in this place, she couldn't be alone, could she?
it would take a few minutes of wandering before she found the figure of a human, slowly limping towards her. had they been injured? if they had, she'd need to help them. she approached slowly so as not to startle them, fog shrouding its face until it was just meters away from her.
it was- not human.
"z-z-z-zombie!" she shouted falling back on her butt and trying to crawl away. she needed some way to defend herself, but she couldn't find one, and the zombie continued getting closer.
"Leave me alone!" she shouted at the creature, closing her eyes and putting her hand out in front of her face. a dull squishing noise coming from in front of her as the zombie stopped in its tracks
opening her eyes she noticed something. the zombie was held in place, a long white spear tracing a path from her hand, through the zombie's face. she still had her powers. this was- no, this couldn't be happening
she curled herself into a ball on the ground, whimpering with tears in her eyes, hoping that somebody would come and help her.
it took a little while, but she finally heard footsteps
"please!" she cried, latching onto the legs of the passerby, "help Nadeko."
"The name’s Battler Ushiromiya, 18 and dead. There’s an easy way to tell demon and humans apart. You just have to touch their breasts and since you look unsure of your own size, can I measure it then?"
"But only if you’ll let me. I rather not have you screaming around."
"oh so that's what Koyomi-onii-chan was always doing. I always wondered why he felt the need to do that to everyone, but if he was looking for demons, maybe he isn't as much of a pervert as everyone took him for"
"as for your question, I'd rather not, if your method is does work you might find something you wouldn't like. I'm not exactly human if we're being honest."
"Miss whoever-you-are-who-came-from-somewhere, you don’t seem to understand that the demons I’m talking about aren’t the shitty looking ones with red bodies and yeah. They’re like humans, cute and sexy humans must I say. Aggggghhhh——"
"Please tell me your name and bust size."
"but the ones that look like humans are the worst kind. imagine the chaos that would be caused if you couldn't tell demons from humans."
o-oh. my name. Sengoku Nadeko. I-I don't feel comfortable answering the second half."
"Am I really dead? If I am, then where are the ass nee-chan angels or demons? All I can see is dirt and old houses like whyyyyyyy? I need big breasts and hot girls not dead people!"
"I- I don't think that having demons around her would be very good."
"at least not from my experience."
Death of a Godess [AV intro/open]
[Exploring this place seemed to be useless since going out of the town would just make you find yourself going back to it no matter how hard or what tricks you tried using. Even trying to leave a trail in the ground resulted in somehow finding yourself back to the opposite side of the town as if both ends were connected and seeing this was the case, finding anything new in here was way too annoying.
The albino was already tired of this nonsense but couldn’t do anything about it and as soon as he was going to go back to the apartment he was currently residing in when an unfamiliar voice called out to him.]
Huh?
[Turning around, he noticed a girl a bit younger than him doing an ambiguous question. it was to be expected if she was another newcomer since this place seemed to welcome more and more people for some reason and he still couldn’t find a reason as to why the people that arrived here were sent here in the first place.]
Didn’t you hear that voice when you woke up here? We’re dead. You could call this hell or if it’s easier on your mind I guess you could call it purgatory.
the boy had white hair and red eyes, the same as when she let the snakes out. she did seem to have a bit more control over that since she'd come here at least. she was actually able to wear a hat for a change. she did rather like wearing her hats even if she only had one.
he looked like he was exploring when she saw him, or at least had been. he looked slightly defeated, as if no matter how much he searched he couldn't find what he was looking for. fortunately, he did turn around when she called, having heard her muttering. she never was very good at talking to new people. and calling out to someone new had taken a fair bit of courage
she calmly listened to what the boy had to say taking it all in and attempting to process it. something had killed her? why was she in purgatory? was there any way back? but her first question was:
"I'm... actually dead?" she asked, "who would do something like this? and why?"
[002] LOST// OPEN
"Audino?"
Not too long ago she had allowed her pink Pokemon leave the Pokeball, after all, she was hoping to bond better with it. Everything was fine despite her state. Even if she was dead, that moment of bonding felt as if she was alive again. Of course, all good things come to an end at some stage. Some just come quicker than others… Well, hers came quicker than she wanted to.
"Audino!"
She cried out again, trying her best not to cry. She bit her bottom lip hard, narrowing her eyes as her blue orbs gleamed unnaturally. Touko was as good as insane at this stage but she couldn’t lose herself.
Then she saw a stranger. Without thinking, she ran up to them and tugged on their shirt. A few gasps and pants were let out before she could properly speak.
"Have you seen a short, pink-cream pokemon with blue eyes and big floppy ears! Oh yeah, there’s like stuff curling from the ears!"
it still hadn't been a day since she'd arrived here, and she'd seen quite a bit more than she'd have like to. this was the kind of place where even koyomi-onii-chan would have trouble handling all of the oddities, that is, if what she was seeing were in fact oddities.
fortunately for her that wasn't something she needed to be terribly worried about, sure they were incredibly scary, but she did still have the ability to call a snake fang from her hair and defend herself from them, they mostly disappeared with a puff of smoke, but this one was a bit different it seemed
it didn't look quite as threatening, being pink and all, but it was moving towards her at a rapid pace, looking like it could attack at any moment. a quick thrust of her fang would pierce into the oddity's chest and send it flying into a tree, knocking it out, but not killing it surprisingly
it wasn't a threat anymore, so she wouldn't kill it, even if it had attacked her. she just kept walking.
a few minutes passed before she met another girl, she looked to be a bit older than Nadeko, but not quite as old as Koyomi-onii-san. she managed to get out a question, asking about the exact same thing that had just attacked her
"ah"
"th-that"
"that's yours?" she asked, "it attacked me a few minutes ago. I can, I can take you to it if you want."
Death of a Godess [AV intro/open]
it was dark, everything was dark. what had happened?
a voice rang out in her head as she forced her eyes open: "you are dead."
it wasn't a voice she was used to either, not the voice of Kuchinawa, nor the voice of any humans she knew of. she couldn't place her finger on it.
that wasn't important though. who would do something like this to Nadeko? why would they do this to Nadeko? she just couldn't figure it out, but there had to be a reason right?
maybe someone around here would know what was going on. the problem was finding someone. this place was pretty barren.
she pulled the visor on her hat down, not wanting to be in a position where someone surprised her out of nowhere. it would be better to keep her head down and not become a "target"
after a good 10 minutes wandering around she finally saw someone else.
"um"
"um" she muttered shyly, "do you-"
"do you happen to know what's going on."
