wanted to do something fun inspired on the friend inside me meme but with a Shadowguy and also like I tried to put there the shadow mantle sneaking into TV world, so this would kinda fit between chapter 1's ending and/or during chapter 2 when Tenna is plugged in again 😆

the colors may differ a bit from part 1 because I don't remember what I did to make the reds less bright in the first 8 pages but this is close enough! I wanted to try an almost flat and not too saturated comic style but I still gotta lot to learn if I want to replicate that kinda comic style better, so here I just did what came to mind in the moment 😅

I also wanted to include some Sunset riders references but I couldn't really fit any on here, here's a few things I also didn't include Jongler coming up with a backstory for themselves or just that were they came from was a very western/cowboy inspired house, and the TV there was like their parent, later they were bought by the Dreemurs on a garden sale or something to that style, didn't include it because I thought it could make things a bit unnecessarily long and I wasn't too convinced of this headcanon anyways lol

there's Battat also running over cows, it was a reference to Sunset riders where they do that.

I had so much fun working on this, and I still gotta finish part 2, it's just 5 more pages though so it isn't too much left of this mini story :) but yeah, gosh I had trouble coming up with the title, admittedly I didn't think of it until now lol may change it later, I'm not that familiar with western movies or series or terms so sorry if it's kinda bland lol This Shadowguy here is a semi-oc I suppose? he's based on one of the Shadowguys that's a cowboy on the wild west shoot out section of TV world :D and also in part inspired of the friend inside me meme of course lol and yeah, hope you enjoy the comic so far! hopefully I finish the rest of the pages soon enough!

They pulled a thing kinda like in Sonic X where it showed clearly he was crying but it wouldn't show his face as he did, just a passing, silent reveal... 😭😭 And the way Rouge's expression softened into a somber realization as she registered what was going on... AUAUSUGDBFFMKSMDNFMDSMSN

Can we talk about this? Because I just gotta.

I feel like he needed to hear these words so much, he needed to hear that he’s not a beacon of darkness and destruction, that he can find the light, he can spread light and he absolutely needed to hear Maria tell him she wants him to be happy. He needed to hear that without it being a trick of the mind, or a dream for once, he needed it to feel real and it did.

And those words from Gerald, I think he needed to hear that too, that someone who took part in carving his dark path, was sorry for it, that even though it was his fault, regardless of intentions, he was sorry that , this, was the path he put him on, I feel like shadow needed to hear that, that he was sorry for his fate, but proud of him for how he walked it, and proud of him for how he fights. Saying he believes in him ( calling him son , he and Maria are such cannon siblings it’s crazy), I feel like he needed to hear these things, and remember every word.

And in return he made a new promise to her, he’s gonna fight, as a shadow with light in his heart, with her wish, being his light.

He absolutely needed to hear those words from his family.
