You know in the age of online ads all you had to do is just put the device away and return to real life where ads are slightly easier to avoid? Its hard to do thst with pokemon where everyone talks about it, everywhere has markets over it, theres always a vendor somewhere, plenty of youtube video essays out there, your timeline has art and peoples collections

Its very nice for people to enjoy themselves this much but my brain is getting overloaded by this one inescapable thing no matter where I go

Im genuinely so miffed over how we got here to this point where its so inescapable. Maybe its because I live on an island where getting fandom stuff and merch has always been more difficult until recently where there has been a huge boom in accessibility for it. But in online spaces too it feels like, despite the shortcomings of the games, it has exploded into something wild and honestly kind of like a capitalistic sink hole for your favourite goober in this series
