Asking questions can save you!
Well, shits been wild lately and really difficult if I'm honest with myself.
I left my last job for a position I thought would be a really good fit but as I have recently found out a lot of "marketing" companies (most end up being 3rd party marketers) just straight out lie about what they do or what they require of you when working there during interviews. I quickly had to leave that job with no back up plan because I almost ended up in the hospital with end stage heat exhaustion almost hitting heat stroke on 2 separate days in one week.
Honestly in our world where things are so damned difficult already why do employers have to make it even more difficult by not being forthcoming about what they expect. I have definitely learned to ask about retention rates and what the day and timing actually looks like because of this experience.
Why would anyone think not being payed for an hour meeting every morning (expected to come in on your days off if M-F for) and no coverage for anything (mileage, gas, ect.) on the vehicle they expect you to use to take to the office and then to events every day would be OK?! I should have known at the first meeting where I heard one of the higher up sales people talking about working 7 days a week that it would be a problem; at least I can say I tried.
On to the brighter side I suppose, I think I found a decent job that I can do for a long while so I can truly prepare myself as a death doula without the massive stress I've been under for the past few years. At least that can lessen some of the burden on my shoulders.
Even if this post in truth has very little to do with what I plan to post here I'm attempting to start posting anything just to get into a better habit of it. That alone should be laughable for me; I used to run a sort of popular... adult page on this very site when that was still allowed.
So, here's to starting over and trying to make my way.. thanks for taking the time to read if you do.
