âI used to date someone in the fashion industryâ she admitted, a little pained smile on her face. âI kinda know what Iâm talking about it. Two years being adjacent to it and you pick up some tricksâ she laughed âand my boss kinda is a designer whore himself so.. Iâve been around..â rolling her eyes âBut yeah.. If Funkytown doesnât have it then Iâd be shocked.. I know the boss loves picking up random finds.. Thatâs why I love it there you know?â
Ivy chuckled and took a pastry off the plate and teared it in half, plating the half and chewing on it. âI mean theyâre totally here to be eaten so why not..â taking a bite âYouâre not a whore- ass..â not even knowing what that could possibly mean. âwhenâs the party?â
Tovah nodded along, slower motioned for sure with those nods sureâ but she wasnât blind either in âpainful exâ topics and the chillier than wanted vibes they brought. âTotally. Donât know jack but I do always find what I want.â That was the truth, down to Halloween costumes, little black dresses, fancy schmancy and the everyday. Found it all.Â
She smiled and snorted at the others reassurance even though she was sure she was being just that, âDunno, Friday or Saturday. Not really party just a dress up for some old school black and white movies at Cinema Paradiso. You should go. Iâll give you my ticket.â All the sarcasm there, but kinda would love to hand it off because she didnât really want to go at all, âYou can have a real excuse to talk to the ex.â Making wiggly eyebrows at the suggestion, because she was a whore-ass.
faithbishopâ:
Sheâd seen the thing about a bobcat but Faith was still very much startled when a voice drew her attention to the fact it was standing right in front of them. Sheâd been on her phone, waiting for an Uber, and somehow sheâd managed to miss the presence of an enormous and very wild feline. âWhat do you mean, is it there?â Faith snapped, fear making her even more snippy than usual. âObviously itâs there! Call animal control!â
She had a moment of feeling completely idiotic, of course it was actually there. The berating tone of the girl sheâd questioned not exactly helpful, where she couldâve pulled out a phone there was already a massive lapse in anything other than what the hell was right in front of her face, did she even have her phone? Shit.... fumbling with her bag then at her side, that teardrop urge cascading and let loose to the point her vision now blurry and the only thing wrapped around her fingers was her vape, pulling it out to inhale a giant cloud of invisible smoke, moving herself out of sight of the animal or so she thought by the nearest entryway. âIt doesnât exist. Just...I donât fucking know. Call them! I canât. I donât know!âÂ
marlene-bregmanâ:
âOh, yes, a story for the kiddies, because the first thing Iâm going to do when you look away is immediately message him and explain the entire mix-up. Weâll end up happily after ever, and joke about how you tried to keep us apart but fate was too strong,â Marlene joked, unable to stop the amused laughter that followed. âNo, no. We will let milk guy go off and have a child with his wife in an effort to fix their marriage, on top of counseling. Grim, for him, really,â she added, widening her eyes over the rim of her wide glass before taking a long sip. âEh. Sheâs a mild-asshole, sure, but I think itâs less that Iâm brave and mroe that Iâm a mild-alcoholic, but hey. What are your twenties for? And Iâm Marlene. Thanks again for humoring me,â she replied, an easy smile coming across her face.
âGrim as fuck. But, feels right. â Laughing at the idea, sorry for milk guy and his future theyâd laid out for him. âSucks you couldnât see the chemistry though...I was really looking forward to like, badass Christmas presents and gift cards to like, Pottery Barn.â Tovah shrugged, joking along with the prospect of the future life with milk guy. âAnytime.â Agreeing with Marlene, âIâve got the rest of the year to figure out how to transition from mild-alcoholic or something like it to...something else. Thatâll be a trip.âÂ

Hannah froze for a split second. She hadnât noticed anything, hadnât really heard the other girl speak, headphones in her ears playing strains of Imagine Dragons. But the horror on the face was clear. And she froze and looked over her shoulder. As far as she knew she hadnât imbibed anything that should make her see things, and the way the bobcatâs hairs moved with a breeze felt too real for her mind to make up. âItâs there. Itâs there,â she murmured. Reaching out she gripped the blondeâs arm and pulled her around the car, so that the vehicle served as a barrier between them and the animal that was casually strolling down the street.Â
âIf weâre lucky itâs just gonna keep walking. If it comes towards us youâre gonna bang on this car and make as much noise as you can, okay? Donât run. Just be really fucking loud.â
As quick as sheâd really thought humanly possible to moveâhopped from one view to another she was being tugged behind some car. Paranoia wasnât her thing when it came to her substance of choice but now it started to seep itâs way into her psyche. Leveraged by this crawl of a break that was peaking...peaked.Â
So behind the rusty blue Dodge, sunken to the oil stained pavement with some kind of expectation held over head Tovah just couldnât...âI canât do itâ I canât.âÂ
philipvcgelâ:
Body cutting around the street corner, leg flailing until it caught a grounded position onto the cement once more. Philip began his saunter, a wave of skunk smell following him; a rather generous joint had been snubbed out a few moments prior on his walk.
His arm reached upward, fingers cascading through the chocolate waves of his chair, âManââ The word was muttered so hushed, the hazy sensation growing with each step that he took. It felt as though he was in a movie, and every time he glanced around, it was like a new cut-scene.
âHuh?â Philip blinked, and in that split second it felt like he had teleported down the street; unaware of how he had even made it this far. But the voice caught his attention, eyes shakily glaring down towards the end of the road. âWhat? â Where? Uhââ He was probably the worst person to ask right about now. âIs anything there? I mean, like, yeah, there could be.â
There were options she thought, but not coherently. A blurb of chaotic messes that all involved charging the damn thing or sitting and waiting or taking stake making some kind of scene at the nearest place of business she could find.Â
Really wishing then she had her car to just....die in.Â
Mentally she got nowhere, feet remained planted and this whole come on inside her fought by distraction at a particular scent that wafted off this sweaty looking dude and she fumbled with her bag at her side to pull out her own safety net that was kinda fucking her over at the moment. So why not fuck right off some more, right? A breath in from the vape that was hiccuped by another crack in her throat before she was able to get the rest down with the next breath, almost like an inhaler that held all the necessity behind it, and for that moment it worked-ish, âYou donât see it?â Shit.

âThereâs a chance either someone was feeding it, to be honest,â Juniper said, turning to look at the other. She seemed shaken, but then when the reality settled and the immediate danger was gone, she seemed to yell out in the direction of the cat. Juniper found it amusing and tried not to laugh too much, but she loved that raw release of emotion.
âI take it you live here? Officially, they have to warn people so theyâre not liable for any injury if anyone does something stupid, like try to tame it or bring it into their unit, I guess. I mean, for all we know, the cat couldâve been rabid, but even then, stop hard enough and yell loud enough, and you can scare anything away. Probably would be a good idea to call animal control or⊠make it someone elseâs problem. Frankly? I wouldnât worry too much about it.â
âWhatââ It really wasnât a big deal was it? Sheâd heard her, loud and clear (well not clear clear but clear enough) âYeah, I doâno youâre right, he posted something about Florida. I-I donât know...itâs like April Foolâs year round here so.. I donât know...I forgot...â She could vaguely remember reading a posting about wild animals around the Oasis apartments but then, it was all just blurring.
âWhatâre you like, some legal person...something...â Not even able to come up with the right term if there was one, it was a distraction sure. Her feet were still magnets where her pulse was anything but, âSo make it someone elseâs problem... fuck it. It is now.â she breathed heavily, in that moment, she felt better. Even in the slightest. A feat passed and a level defeated. Thatâs what she heard and she wasnât opposed. Not in that moment, still only wanting her bed.Â
joshuaminerâ:
Josh had been staring at the Bobcat for a good few minutes now, not entirely sure what to do with the situation he was faced with. He could ride a bull no problem, but that didnât mean he wanted to come face to face with all sorts of dangerous beasts.Â
âUh⊠yeah itâs definitely there,â he said in his Texan accent, looking over at the person whoâd spoken to him. âJusâ⊠tryinâ to figure out what Iâm gonna do next.â He looked between them and the Bobcat.Â
âYou know if they come at you if you move fast or anythinâ?â
That moment of uncertainty meeting certainty, certainly helped zilch. Okay, a little bit, the fact she wasnât seeing things helped immensely really. But all she really wanted was to shut in her room until the next day and in order to do that it was get past this animal and this guy seemed to be chilling with the prospect.Â
âI donât know jackââ telling him between another rise of salty frustration that toppled over eventually in doses across her cheeks,âTry it. Do it. Noâdonât do it, donât. Fuck...it might. Try, fuck donât!âÂ
sharcnadeâ:
Sharon grinned, âthatâs nice to hear.â It was definitely a first but it was nice to know that was the vibe she gave off, even if she wasnât sure she completely agreed with it. âYou give off like a slight mysterious, but very non-chalant vibe.â And that to her seemed like the ideal. âTo people watch? No, actually I came for a drink and had planned to meet a friend but by the time they cancelled, I already ordered, so here I am.â She shrugged. âHow about you? What brought you here?â
Lifting that drink sheâd taken off the classy oneâs hands and did a minor salute before taking a swig, âMysterious?â Tovah said that with all the surprise that showed in the brows even, the rest well, she could blame the weed and always would. âI donât think Iâve ever heard that one before. Do a big ass favor and just like, not tell me why. Let me marinate in that one.â Teasing, sort of. It was a cool change. âTo people watch. For real. But not really, I wanted to drink. For real for real....Was your friend a friend or a âfriendâ.â Quote on quote a thing that happened with fingers.

Honestly, Hollis got it. He was an emotional wreck too.
âWell, letâs see what we can, ok? What about peanut butter? Or lunch meat slices?â Sometimes Hollis felt like he couldnât do anything right either, he felt connected to this stranger on a spiritual level. He glanced at his watch, âThis is actually perfect timing. Iâm just about to go on my lunch break so I can really help. Weâll get them back in no time with the two of us putting our heads together.â He was hesitant at first, wanting to reach out and place a comforting hand on the womanâs arm but they had just met. They didnât even know each otherâs names.
So he held out his hand for her to shake instead, âMy nameâs Hollis. The dogs know me. Weâll get them back.â He paused, attempting a joke, anything to help calm the woman in front of him, âTo be fair, Iâm not too bright either but Iâll come if Iâm offered deli slices. â Iâll take the leashes,â He gently took them from her hand, âAnd you get the bait, howâs that sound? Iâll be right here when you get back.â He had already started to detangle the leads in his hand, whistling for the dogs who were still bolting around. He was determined to get them back.
He started listing off possible methods to entice the dogsâbut fact was Tovah couldnât remember if there was even a slice of bread to the families kitchen. A wave of relief brushed over her when he announced it was the break in his shift and she wouldnât be left to her own devices, which even before it appeared wasnât going to have to be the case at all.Â
Glancing back to try and collectively inherit his ideals about coming together. Trying. Trying really hard through a cloudy sense of reality where everything went straight to those dogs and how sheâd lost them. Essentially, that was what it came down to at the moment.Â
So when she turned back and saw a hand in front of her it felt like the break she needed, and the leashes easily handed off, not sure how to take Hollis as he was other than something of a saint. Tovah breathed in deep, it was a challenge in that moment to not just give up. She wasnât up for the alternative but she was also in a situation where she kind of had to be.Â
The door was left wide while she went for what she could. (So tofu packet and that peanut butter heâd mentioned before and a can of dog food she was supposed to replenish but...didnât.) because for what it was she already trusted the guy, not that it truly mattered at this rate. Sucking it up, a loose way of saying her panic faltered and there was a bit more at stake here. âI forgot sheâs a vegetarianâ Telling him as she returned, stepping out into the yard. The door she didnât even think to shut behind her, â....I was gonna make like chicken or something....but I didnât get that either so...fuck. Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck....â
theivyhartâ:
Ivy laughed. âIâm hardly that..â when the woman called her a champion, she just.. was. She could be a neat freak but there were times when Ivy let her hair down and now she wanted to do that.  âSequins and a top hat. I can totally do that.. If not I think I know somewhere that I might be able to get one for you.. But.. If we could find you one, that would be easier..â she hummed, she knew Nicole had one from a shoot sheâd done for a cover of vogue, and she was pretty sure she might be able to borrow it if she asked nicely enough.
âThatâs pretty awesome though, Maybe we could even do sequin pants or something, kinda boss lady suit?â
âYeah?â Not sure what to make of the gesture, hell it would take a silently snatching a pair of five seasons ago heels from her roommateâbut then, Tovah also had issues keeping things intact so....made sense. âYouâve got all the connections...Funkytownâs gotta have it though, right? They have all kinds of random.â Pushing that plate of pasty out because she would 100% inhale sooner than later.Â
âIâd be so down for that. Especially if they have like, you know that pregnant lady gut band, might look super janky but like... thatâs five hours....â Picking again at that plate until she realized she was being that ass, âIâm eating like, everything....eat one. So I donât feel like a whore-ass.âÂ
soundlessglassâ:
âVegan or not, I wouldnât put stuff on animals that shouldnât be thereâ, he commented, but pretty much left the topic there. He was quite sure his opinion about the topic was done and there was no need to repeat it. He frowned a bit when the empty coffee cup was stolen from his hand and ran to the trashcan. This woman definitely was a weird one. âProbably burn to deathâ, Bobbie said with a shrug. Although getting hit by a car is more likely to happen than him just burning to death. He knew how to deal with his work and how to stay sort of safe, while random person driving a car over him could easily happen any day. â Birds are fine, Astrid. I take it this Beatrice is someone who is easy to recognise even without knowing anything about her other than the name.â
âTotally gonna have to shut your eyes then bud...â and that was that on that, kanye shrug ensued and she glanced at Raoul. âOh shit son, okay...bold choice. Youâve thought about it.â Stating the obvious at just how quickly he answered the deep dark. Did she want to know more? That she couldnât quite tell. One more big inhale off the vape sheâd yet to give a name to and all signs pointed to yes. âVery good, sensei...oh yeah. Canât miss her. Youâll see. Prob want to climb you like a tree. You are really freaking tall. Looking....how tall are you?âÂ
itsindianaokayâ:
Indiana doesnât even flinch.
Because of fucking course she moves to a place that has cougars, mountain lions, over grown house cats.
She sighs from where she was standing. Her fault for taking a walk on a nice tag.
âYup. This is how we die. I blame Carole Baskin.â
So, if anything at least she saw it too. Not alone, not seeing things.
Bonus point territory now that with the two of them stalled and it just seemed to mind itâs own business. Not that one step closer in the direction she actually needed to get to would cause some gnarly teeth showing, pride, pack, alpha whatever display.
But the joke helped, the chill of the other person helped.... âAt leastââ the hiccup in her voice at the start again of that tightness in the back of her throat, âI-itâs a cool way to go.âÂ
âwhat are you gonna do, cry about it?â yes . the fuck
juni-garzaâ:
After dropping a friend off at the Oasis Apartments, Juniper sauntered down the stairs to get back to her bike and head home when she noticed a girl looking a bit upset. At first, she wasnât going to pry or get all up in her business uninvited, but then the girlâs attention snapped to some kind of animal and began freaking out.
âOkay, itâs okay! Stay calm, they can smell fear probably, I dunno!â Juniper furrowed her brows, mocha eyes narrowed at the looming threat when she realized it was a bobcat. âOh! Itâs a bobcat! They scare easy. WatchâŠâ Juniper rolled her shoulders and marched in the direction of the animal, cursing loudly, clapping her hands and stomping her feet to shoo it away. The closer she got, the further the animal retreated until finally, it ran away.
She walked back to the girl and glanced up at her. âTheyâre more scared of us than we are of them. But are you okay? You donât look so goodâŠâ
A faint sense of relief happened when it was confirmed she wasnât going completely looney tunesâstay calm was so easily misconstrued but something she knew she had to do just in case....hell, sheâd never actually been face to face with a wild animal before. (Well, not since like, 2008 and a Big Bear trip and a Moose...long story.) But the girl in front of her had a pretty swift hold, some kind of guru way that Tovah kind of took as a shield. Buffering behind, those seconds where the other seemed to know exactly what to do, and there was Tovah, when all she wanted to do was get inside her apartment kind of buckled at the reality that it was actual reality.Â
âIf thatâs true, whyâre they out here at all?â She was angry at the idea, she was supposed to be afraid of these animals but it was just a big cat... âIâm fineâ...â how else to respond to that? âI just donât get it, why even warn anyone that that these things are around and they arenât gonna like, come at your jugular? Why the fuck is there such a big deal? JUST TELL ME I CAN FUCKING SCREAM AT THEM AND THEY WILL GO AWAY.â That she yelled back...why was she afraid when there was an easy solution? what the hell?
