“Oh a joke then? I know plenty of jokes. Maybe you’ll like this one-“

He raises a gloved hand, “Why are Americans bad at chess?“

Ivan holds up two fingers, “Because they lost two towers. Haha! A joke.“

He shrugs, “I try. I thought the joke was funny.“

He smiles, “Very funny.” The words come from behind a smile, but there’s a knife’s edge, “You aren’t being very friendly with me. Maybe you should shut your face before we both say something you’ll regret.“

Mattie approaches with a white flag. A truce for a mutual goal. "Help me get back at America."

"Oh! Getting back at America? Very good."

He claps his hands, "I've been waiting for this- how do we start? Plutonium sandwich perhaps?"

Okay, so there might be a slight discrepancy between the revenges they had in mind. "I was thinking a rumor."

“Rumor? Oh, so destroy his integrity?“ He nods, “Ok, ok. Ahhhh? Hm.“

He puts a hand to his chin, “Well, could spread rumor that he wears fake brand clothes. And that he secretly admires Britain and wishes to return to being colony. That could work, da?“
