Percentage of woman using social media (by site)
Facebook = 57%
Twitter = 59%
Pinterest = 82%
Google+ is dominated by men (71%) and early adopters, engineers and developers.
LinkedIn reports an even ratio of men and women — 49% over age 45 — who use the site to connect with other business professionals.
The report says that much of the growth in U.S. e-commerce sales comes from online retailers improving their web sites and services.
10 Writing Tips From David Ogilvy
1. Read the Roman-Raphaelson book on writing*. Read it three times.
2. Write the way you talk. Naturally.
3. Use short words, short sentences and short paragraphs.
4. Never use jargon words like reconceptualize, demassification, attitudinally, judgmentally. They are hallmarks of a pretentious ass.
5. Never write more than two pages on any subject.
6. Check your quotations.
7. Never send a letter or a memo on the day you write it. Read it aloud the next morning—and then edit it.
8. If it is something important, get a colleague to improve it.
9. Before you send your letter or your memo, make sure it is crystal clear what you want the recipient to do.
10. If you want ACTION, don’t write. Go and tell the guy what you want.

How to Choose: Open Source or Custom Programming
As originally conceived, open source programs like WordPress were developed to be used for blogging. As open source options have evolved and become more versatile, they are being used more and more for website design.
So how can you choose which is best for you?
The best platform to choose is the one that works best for you. Basically, you must decide if the platform can bend to your will or if you must match your expectations to the platform.
WordPress is a modular-built open source collaborative platform. With an open source platform, your needs have to bend to match what’s available. Because it’s a modular build, if you want something custom, it can only be as unique as what’s already been devised and structured to fit WordPress. With open source you buy a box and you can only add other boxes as they exist.
Custom programming is the best solution if you have specific needs or expectations but are not interested in bending. Custom programming means the platform bends to meet your unique needs, not the other way around. With custom programming, you can have virtually any website that your heart desires.
Custom programming allows for a discussion of what you like…and what you don’t like... involving brainstorming, some dreaming and the creativity to collaboratively devise a solution. The end result is a website unique to you, built on a platform that specifically meets your needs.
With open source, you get what they have. With custom programming, you get what you want.
