Rick paused for a moment, the opportunities this offer was giving to him clearly not hitting him entirely yet. He kept his unsure, stoic expression only long enough for the realization of what this offer was capable of helping him achieve to hit him. As said realization slowly dawned on him, the expression changed to one of almost pure shock and amazement. Whoever this was, was willing to help him gain access to supplies that might finally give him the ability to abolish this wretched virus once and for all. So really either there was some sort of catch here or this person had no idea how good of an offer they had just made.
“You-you’d be willing to-to help out, just like that?” He muttered questionably, though he quickly noted how dumb it was to be looking such a magnificently gift horse in the mouth and countered his doubtful question quickly with a “S-sure, I’d- that sounds great I’m, I’d be totally up for something like that.” He could PROBABLY do this, tinkering with the portal device. He’d done similar such things in the past before the military had consumed his life completely, so it probably wasn’t impossible. He’d just need coordinates really, so his next line of questioning was a basic “Where are you looking to go?”
They nod at the other’s question- sure, they didn’t really know exactly what they were getting into, but hey, so long as they could scratch each other’s backs, it was cool.
“Yeah man- I mean, it’s not like I do much of anything else, shit. Besides, doing a little running around would probably be the most excitin’ thing I’ve done in awhile.” They wish they’d been exaggerating- other than the occasional expedition to one of the few more exciting dimensions they’d found, most time was spent holed up at home.
“Well, really, I don’t have anywhere specific in mind- I’m uh, not really versed in the whole dimension travell-y stuff yet. But I mean, I’m just lookin for places to adventure- for new shit to see, and all.”
