I saw that you're (plural, I should clarify) following us from your main blog I believe? And I did want to personally ask if you would like to be mutuals. It seems that we have a mutual or two in common as well, and from what I have seen I think you are all cool.

I want to be an artist and make prints and make charms and be known and do all of that while being plural!!!! I don't care anymore!!!!!

the original reason I separated my system blog from my main one is because, like it or not, it can turn people away!!!! I know it can!!! And ESPECIALLY when it's not the "oh we have 5 members and they all have defined roles and-" NO. I am MESSY. WE are MESSY. and have SO MANY FICTIVES. AND HAVE SO MANY MEMBERS. ( If you have a small member count I'm not coming after you btw, it's just most of the time I see any popular sys blog it's a very small [comparatively] and stuff idk) We are not NEARLY as large as other systems I've seen, hell even TALKED TO! but it is so much harder to brand yourself (do we want that? to brand ourselves? fuck dude.) when there isn't one "you" to center around!!

And we can't market ourselves as an artist you can commission because we all have different abilities and likes and styles??? So what do you sell people?

"hey yeah that example art? that was drawn by someone else. yeah no it was "me" I mean a different member of our system. no yeah I get it but I can't do that style, I have a different one. "What are you supposed to do then?" man I wish I could tell you idk. We'd be confined to premade things- which isn't a bad thing! if you do that that's awesome!! but commissions are so popular and have the possibility for so much more income when you're able to deliver a custom product!

and I'M TIRED. I'm Tired and we haven't even started yet, not really.

So I give up on that! I'm going to make art and be plural and tell people who we are!! And I don't care anymore!!

we're probably going to start slow, a change here and there, and eventually we'll be new again. no, not new... The "Now" is new. we're going back to being us. And if people don't like it when I do? Fine.

Two down, one to go! Jasper and Peridot icon masks for @quartzfarm! (the Peridot one I had finished previously but have since edited a little, for those who thought they had seen it before)

And no variants this time (unless you want them lol) cause I think the level of detail they have now is okay, nothing too striking that I'm unsure of :3

Now I just have to do Chevy's! which is gonna be an interesting experience but we'll see how it goes!

honestly the best tip I can give right now without going into it too much is: use simple identifiable shapes and borders around your graphics! I get if people like the more intricate masks with very detailed images and cutouts but when you put an image over them they become crowded and messy to the eyes, especially smaller scale and at a glance which is what most people see them at

when I start to feel I've added too much detail or hard to read shapes and it's becoming crowded, I make multiple versions with and without them and ask myself "do I actually need this, or can I incorporate this some other way/remove it all together and get a better outcome?"

of course not all of the ones I make are perfect but I think that line of thinking leads to better masks :)

I don't really what else to really say here lol but I'll make a tutorial like I said!

A Peridot themed icon mask for @jaspidotsys! With 4 variants of it that have different details added or taken away :)

I've gotten really into making pfp masks recently, they're so fun! so I thought I'd challenge myself by making one with a bunch of stuff in it for someone I know, just as a gift or something, it was fun!

And I am planning on making one for Jasper! I just don't know how to format it yet. I know I want saber teeth on the bottom, and I want to incorporate pumpkins, stripes, and obviously the gem to match peridot's- maybe some whiskers too? I just don't know how to do that yet-
