Levi is walking way too slowly, as if fearful of making a rash movement around her. As if she were going to… what? Explode? Contrary to popular belief, time has taught her that, out of the two of them, she’s the less unpredictable one.

He stops next to the bed, opposite her. He looks at home in this place—because it is, isn’t it? Unbeknownst to her, he’s been here all this time. That knowledge makes her grind her teeth.

When he sits down, she stands up.

The air between them is oppressive, the silence more so. Her eye tracks his every movement, while his can’t be bothered to glance her way.
