But all the magic I have known I’ve had to make myself.
Shel Silverstein, Where the Sidewalk Ends: The Poems and Drawings of Shel Silverstein (via wnq-anonymous)
through sadness and difficult times i still don’t allow myself to become hardened by my hurt. i remain soft, hopeful, and compassionate. this is my nature and i do not give myself enough credit for it. softness is resilience too.
some days i’m more ghost than girl.

Slytherin Girls + Tracey Davis Aesthetic
“Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another steppingstone to greatness.”
( lily. )
✰ “ oh god. don’t say that, then i have to remember that i really do have to be the one to clean it all up. ” she tipped her head back with a small groan before reaching for the girl’s bottle. “ you’re a life saver. i understand the reluctance, believe me, but i need it. maybe i can get some younger students to clean tomorrow. ”
“ third years would do anything for a few sickles, y’know? ” her hands stretch out, wiggling them around. “ gimme, gimme. aren’t there rules for head girl drinking? ” truthfully, tracey doesn’t give a shit if there were; new drinking partners were always welcome in her books.
( jackson. )
“first you hit me with a lamp and now you’re depriving me of company. you know what hurts more than my shoulder right now? my heart.” he shook his head, as if he was actually disappointed, “that’d be a clever little charm, maybe for st. patricks day we can match, it’ll be very festive.”
a bubble of laughter escapes, easily delighted by his teasing words. “i’m holding you to that, you know? the coming st. patrick’s day, we are going green --- oh !! maybe we could do christmas too, and just making it all festive celebrations.” the thing is, she’s not even kidding.
( draco. )
draco raised an eyebrow at the girl, swiftly producing his wand and flicking it with a graceful arc of his wrist. “reparo.” the lamp nimbly sprang back up onto the table, reassembling itself until the common room was back to it’s normal neatness. “no harm done.”
“it was mostly the reaction i was worried about,” tracey said, never mind the fact that she didn’t really worry about anything. she watched the effortless way he performed the spell, and there wasn’t envy in her eyes, but wondering of how he could do that when all of her magic was painfully average and sluggish. “an angry seventh year is going to yell at me AGAIN for making a noise in a moment.”
✰ “ okay, i need to be more drunk. the head girl in me is already trying to think about who is gonna clean up all this mess tomorrow. ”
“ i’d split you my bottle, but then i wouldn’t have enough. “ there’s a pout to tracey’s lips, but she holds out her bottle nonetheless. “ i really wouldn’t want to be you tomorrow. “
( jackson. )
“are you going to walk me there?” he raised an eyebrow, “alright, alright i believe you.” his shoulder didn’t hurt at all now, he thought it would probably bruise but it wouldn’t effect him that much, his position was pretty much guaranteed, he wasn’t sure anyone else was even trying out for the position.
tracey blinked, squinting at him slightly in an attempt to figure out if he’s kidding. “do you need me to?” with a sudden grin, she considered it for a moment before adding, “i mean, i totally could do better if i wanted payback for anything. totally. like... dye your hair green!”
Having already finished her spliff, Hannah took a swig from her cup, downing the firewhiskey in one gulp. “What?? Haven’t you ever seen me drink before?? Let me LIVE.”
“I’m not JUDGING. I only wanted some !!” Making grabby-hands a way a five-year-old would, Tracey accompanied it with puppy eyes. “I finished my cup and I really can’t be bothered to get up for another.”
( fay. )
The shout had Fay moving before she knew what was going on, unfortunately it carried her closer to the actual crisis. The lamp collided with her torso before falling to hit her foot, which hurt rather more than she thought it should. Flinching, she knelt to rub her foot “maybe next time you should just yell MOVE LEFT! And then no one will be clubbed with a lamp.”
“I said WATCH OUT !! “ This was accompanied by various other hand gestures, in an attemot to get her point across, which came dangerously close to nearby objects. “No harm done! At least it didn’t break or anything --- I swear, Filch would have my head. He thinks I’ve already knocked too many things down as it is.”
( jackson. )
he hadn’t been able to catch the object fast enough, it hit his shoulder in a dull thunk, he winced the moment it hit and then put it back up right, barely hearing her excuse, “it’s fine, i just- i’ll hope it doesn’t bruise. is this sabotage for the quidditch try outs? slytherin must not have a great line up this year if this is what you’ve resorted too.”
“are you sure ?? shouldn’t you check it ??” but she’s distracted in the same moment, exaggeratedly offended as she shakes her head vigorously. “i don’t care about quidditch trials ! i mean, they were pretty fun to watch but. it was an accident.”
( flora. )
“Bloody hell, Tracy!” Flora yelled out after the lamp came crashing onto the side of the table and spilling out over her books. The brunette looked down at her left hand as she felt something pinching, only to find tiny pieces of the lamp lodged into her her hand. “What the bloody hell are you doing twirling around in the common room, anyway?” She stomped up from her seat and approached the girl, blood dripping from her arm and onto the carpet.
“I was bored,” Tracey protested, but she hurriedly got out her wand. For what, she’s not entirely sure, when she knew as much healing magic as a chair. “I’m really sorry,” she repeated, and she gave a grin to try and back up her apology.
&&. hey everyone!!! so this isn’t the great time since no one’s really on, but i just wanted to say hello tbh !! i’m jessie, gmt, and i’ve got an incomplete about up, but i’d love to plot with everyone!!! i’m gonna post a few bullet points about tracey anyway lmao
Keep reading
“ oh merlin, shit --- HEY !! watch out !! “ there’s a crash, and tracey winces. “ i’m sorry, the lamp was right there, and i was twirling, and i hit it with my elbow, i didn’t mean for it to fall down !! “
