Cade rolled her eyes, smiling a bit. āIād like to see you try,ā she joked, lightly nudging him in the side with her foot. She nodded as he spoke, āThen why donāt we just go by the trees, then?ā Cade suggested.
"Is that a challenge?" He prompts, spinning in a quick circle before making his way over to a shaded area next to the trees. "Your wish is my command."
Cade shrugged her shoulders, though he probably couldnāt see. āSounds tooā¦ silly.ā she said with a slight laugh, finding herself surprised at how comfortable she felt. At his question, she pursed her lips, before noticing the direction they were headed in. āYou aināt takinā me to the deadheads, are you?ā
"'too silly' isn't something to worry about." He says, shaking his head. He laughs as she asks him about the destination. "Yes, I'm taking you to the deadheads to bury you alive." He chuckles. "Nah, 'm kidding. That place freaks me out."
She waved her hand, āSāfine.ā she said, smiling a bit as he opened his arms. āDonāt call me that,ā Cade said with an eye roll, as she got onto his back, so they could make it down the stairs easily. āWhere are we even goinā, anyway?ā
"Why not?" He asks, bending his neck as far as it can go backwards to catch a glimpse of her and she settles onto his back and he starts down the stairs. He quickly leaves the building and heads towards the forest. "Dunno. You got a preference?"
"Always am," Cade replied, turning to face him again. Koa catching her wrist caught her off guard, but she still followed him to the door. Though she was healing from her injuries, she still felt pain if there was too much pressure on her ankle. Cade tried to go slowly, but once they reached the stairs, she pulled her wrist back. "Slow down, would ya? I donāt want bust my ankle again." she said, before carefully making her way down the stairs.
He stops dead in his tracks on the stairs, turning away from her. "Sorry, forgot about that." He opens his arms a little. "Jump on, Cadey-Wadey."
Cade rolls her eyes as he takes the map, but cant help but smile a bit as he looks it over, upside down. āSācause you donāt know what youāre lookinā for.ā she comments, grabbing the map from where heād tossed it, to put it back in its proper pile. āā Where?ā she asked, turning to face him.
"Lookin' for a way out, ain't you?" He asked as she sorted the map back into its proper place. As she turns to him, he catches her wrist and tugs her towards the door. "Who cares?" He asks, leading her down the stairs.
Cade rolled her eyes at his words; He was right, though. Sheād insist on him leaving, and then heād stay, asking question after question. As Koa scooted in front of her, she took a small step back. āMātryinā to read the maps from today.ā She said, trying to sound annoyed, though she appreciated the company.
He nods, reaching over and plucking the map from her hands. U;side down, he holds it up to his face and shrugs. "Yep, well, looks like every other map in here." He says, despite his inability to actually comprehend the map. He tosses it somewhere else in the room before hopping off the table. "Lets go."
Cade turned her head to find Koa walking in, and all she could do is bite the inside of her cheek. Since the other night, sheād had plenty of time over-think everything that happened. The sight of him now made her nervous; Giddy, and nervous. āSācause you wouldnāt go away,ā she said cooly, turning her attention back to the map in front of her.
"Hm," he hums, walking closer. "What makes you think I'll go away this time, either?" He asks, sitting on the edge of the table she faced before scooting in front of her. "Whatcha' doin'?"
Just ācause I aināt runninā right now, doesnāt mean youāre allowed in the map room.
"You let me in here last time."

Cade smiled as he pushed the hair from her face, āFāyou say so,ā she mumbled, leaning up to meet him half way. She found herself moving closer to him, the two now pressed together. It was a weird position to be in, and it was incredibly unfamiliar, but she had no intention of leaving, not yet.
Her guard was down, and for some reason, she wasnāt too bothered by it. By now, they were squished together, and Cadeās arm had found itās way around his middle. When she pulled back from him again, she remained close enough to feel his breath on her cheek. āI got no idea what ām doinā.ā she admitted.
As she pulls away again, Koa smiles and props himself up on an elbow, keeping one hand on the side of her face. He watched her features as she speaks, shrugging a little. As he pushes hair from her face, he replies. "Your doin' fine. Perfect."
Cade gives him a small smile as he speaks, content with what was happening. She wasnāt used to anyone seeing her as anything other than the tough, no nonsense leader of the Glade. It was nice to be in a different light, and though her stomach was still in knots, she enjoyed the moment. Surprising even herself, Cade lifts her head just a bit, leaning up to kiss him again.
The atmosphere around the dark-haired girl has changed completely from the last time they'd spoken, and he loved it. He could see the little light in her eyes, the roses in her cheeks and the charm to the small smile she allowed to show through. He leans back down with his own smile to meet her lips again.
"Then why should I get any more dirty? I donāt find getting dirty for no reason fun. Itās not as though weāre being productive."
"Is there something more productive and fun we could be doing?"

He was moving towards her, and Cade knew exactly what was about to happen. Her stomach knotted, but she found herself slowly rolling onto her side to meet him half way. She had no idea what she was doing ā Cade had never even been kissed before, but she kissed him for what felt like forever, before finally pulling back to breathe. āWhat ā what was that for?ā she found herself asking, her voice just above a whisper.Ā
He slips a hand behind her neck while they kiss, gently pulling them closer together. As his lungs begin to burn for air, her pulls away and brings his hand to rest on the side of her face, thumb resting on her cheek. As she speaks, he smiles and gently drags his thumb across her cheeks, back and forth. "You make me curious."
"I donāt know, I think this is pretty cool. I justā¦ Iām sure thereās someone else who would be more willing to go build forts with you? I donāt know if Iām really the right choice."
"You're a challenge, which makes you the perfect choice."
