I think the battle is long since lost on what the “-coded” suffix means, but I (old movie guy specifically invested in queer coding) seem to be unable to let go of how annoying I find the fuzzy popular use of the term. This is probably a flaw in my character.

Okay since it’s pride month let’s go over my head cannons for the digital circus characters.

Kinger- Kinger is straight but definitely an ally.

Pomni- yall are gonna hate me for this but I do believe Pomni is straight.

Jax- I think that before the circus Jax was a bit bicurious. He probably had a lot of internalized homophobia towards himself and didn’t really let himself embrace those feeling. I think that after joining the circus and more specifically after Ribbits abstraction he’s now aroace. There is no way he trusts someone not to abstract enough to get into a relationship with them. And he’s definitely not trusting enough to have sex with anyone. I have a theory that he had a crush on ribbit and refused to act on it.

Ragatha- I think she’s a lesbian but she had a hard time coming to terms with that. Especially with her mother who I doubt would support her. Although I do like the idea of her mom being like amity’s mom from the owl house. She doesn’t care her daughter is gay as long as she doesn’t disappoint the family in who she Mary’s.

Zooble- Zooble is obviously nonbinary. And I think they’re pansexual too.

Gangle- I had a lot of trouble determining gangles sexuality. But I think she’s bi with a heavy preference to woman.

Caine- Caine is Aroace he is an Ai he doesn’t have romantic feelings programmed into him.

Bubble- Bubble is just a horny fucker.

You gotta be able to take an L if your moral and ethical belief systems are to be capable of guiding you. Otherwise you just have an idealized self where you get really mad and scared when anyone points out it isn't actually you. How the fuck are you gonna walk the walk if you can't handle being told when you are not, in fact, actually walking it
