An English translation of the "testimone di gangster" short story by Keiji Ando that was published in JOJO magazine 2022 WINTER.
This is that project I alluded to in an earlier ask. Yes, I translated the entirety of Testimone di Gangster (or The Witness for the Gangsters), and it's now being hosted on Jojo Wiki's website! As it states in the note, this is a first edition that is subject to future changes and improvements. Shoot me an ask or message if you spot any mistakes!

ID #1: A comic of Helmut and Bob walking and holding hands, with a majority of the image taken up by Bob's various internal thoughts, some of which cover Helmut:
"Am I overdressed for this? He must think I'm trying to hard I shouldn't have worn this it looks bad anyways."
"My hands are too sweaty but it'll be weird to let go."
"I can't believe he actually likes dating me. This is too good to be true."
A series of cut off thoughts that read "[...] id I forget my / let? Did I water / plants enough? / lock the door / fore I left the house?"
"He's gonna hate this place."
"Am I worrying too much about this? It's only our second date... is that an important number? I wish there was some guide book about dating this is..."
"Oh my god. I don't know what he just said."
"How long has he been talking and I didn't catch any of it? What kind of boyfriend does that?"
"He's going to be so mad if he realizes I was being so stupid."
"Crap. What do I do now?"
"MAYBE IF I JUST SMILE AND NOD HE WON'T NOTICE." End ID.
ID #2: Bob continues thinking with his nervous thoughts covering Helmut's concerned face.
"No no no he's stopped smiling"
"he's noticed what do I do, I have to damage control"
Bob rubs his neck and nervously and says out loud "Uh,, Hey...!" while thinking "What does he even see in me--?"
Teal lines eminate from Bob's head, and then a clairvoyant eye opens, which makes Bob exclaim "WOAH"
He thinks "Wait - what?" as he sees a teal linework version of himself wearing a crown and leaf patterned overalls. He's surrounded by dozens of hearts.
He then thinks "Is that -" before his concentration is broken by saying "Bobby! Earth to Bobby!" from off screen.
Bob, appering normal again, looks embarrased as he says "Oh! Helmut, sorry... I-I don't think I was Supposed to see that, I'm sorry -"
Helmut says "See what? Bob, are you ok? Need a minute?" End ID.
ID #3: Helmut, who is now visible and unobscured, looks with concern at Bob as Bob says "Maybe. Sorry, guess I got lost in my own head there."
Helmut says "No need to apologize, I get it."
Bob says "I know, sor-- uh, yeah."
Helmut points his thumb behind him: "Hey, I see a bench. We can go sit down."
Bob: "If that's cool with you, sure."
There is a cut to Helmut and Bob sitting together on a park bench. Bob is in the middle of saying "...and I guess I was so focused on what you were thinking of me I sort of... Saw it?"
Helmut: "Like mind reading?"
Bob: "No, not exactly. I think I could See you looking at me. But "me" looked different. All... hearts and bright colors. Maybe it's a mental thing."
Helmut smiles as he says "Well, if it looks anything like what I think of you,I hope it makes you feel a lil less stressed." Then looks over to Bob while blushing. End ID.
ID #4: Helmut looks admiringly at Bob with multicolored figments floating around his head. Bob looks down with a blush as he says "heh, I'd be lying if I wasn't kind of flattered."
Helmut then pulls Bob into a big hug and plants a kiss on his cheek. Even more heart figments pop into the air as Helmut says "See? that's cuz I love you soooo MUCH!", which makes Bob blush harder and smile as he laughs and yells "Helmut...!" End ID.
