Really shitty doodle. What should her name be?

in all honestly i think the hyperrealistic cgi where you can see all of haddocks wrinkles and stuff are hmm. ugly. the way the characters sorta keep their cartoony proportions makes it really uncanny valley to me. if spielberg’s going to make another film, him and his whole team should at the bare minimun:
1. acknowledge tintin is a racist work and either stop the production and work on something new or change the message and core of the adventure he’s adapting (word of the Net from 2 yrs ago said it was the one with the incas so like. There’s a Lot to remove and change from that one).
2. different art direction but that’s more of a Personal thing.
1. @doubledamnit ha dicho: okay I’m glad I’m not the only one who felt not great about the upcoming one being prisoners of the sun for that very reason…just like…go to the moon instead please
being peruvian the whole prisoners of the sun comic next to the congo one and the “these drunk latino revolutionaries need the guidance of the pure, level-headed europeans to carry on their revolution” one, were more than insulting and the Biggest examples of how hergé saw poc on the global south lol. i wish that was more discussed around here. but yes i agree that the most fitting and best tintin adventure would be the moon one. and i would choose an adaptation of it over a blue lotus + tibet movie bc i dont think they would make any attempts to give any depth to chang’s character.
2. @tuftofginger ha dicho: @doubledamnit I read a recent article where Jackson is still considering which story to go with. He was originally going to pick Prisoners of the Sun, but he’s now considering Destination Moon/Explorers on the Moon too.
I took a little glance to the article and tbh i dont want to be pessimistic but this looks more like an abandoned production project? its like. an assigment they hadnt chosen a subject yet and are way past a deadline except there are no deadlines but the public’s decaying interest on it. BUT if it does get made it better be the moon story sprinkled with the one where they meet calculus.
Aren’t you mixing up Prisoners of the Sun with Tintin and the Picaros? There wasn’t a revolution in Prisoners of the Sun, the story was about Tintin trying to find Calculus after he was kidnapped for wearing a precious bracelet belonging to the Incas.
Tintin has visited South America a few times and only once were they depicted as drunkards needing of guidance (Tintin and the Picaros), and even then it was just one group of lousy soldiers. You could argue that the British were depicted as careless and stupid because the firefighters were so bad at their job in The Black Island, but they were just one group of firefighters amongst a variety of British characters. Also, Zorrino from Prisoners of the Sun was the guide for Tintin and his friends. I don’t know, perhaps Hergé did have a poor image of South Americans, I’ve just always seen it as a variation of characters.
@tuftofginger i couldn’t reply to this earlier so i apologise for the delay. i will add my replies to your other replies on this as well, i know this has been deleted, but i find it relevant to reply to. it’s going to get a little long, so here’s a read more
Keep reading
Anyway white people shouldn't be able to tell people of color how to react to racist media. I'm done now I'm just mad and a lil anxious.
@tuftofginger why are you arguing with pocs about how we should be portrayed in media

God honestly. If they actually try to make a movie portraying natives as villains and white people as the heros and above pocs I'm gonna fucking scream. Not sure how many more racist Herge stories I can take.
When did u get into tintin
Dude I've been into Tintin for as long as I can remember

Another thing that makes me uncomfy with the fandom is implications of referencing DBH. The fandom likes to compare Tintin and Haddock with Connor amd Hank, shipping either Haddotin, Hankcon, or both, completely forgetting not only the obvious age gap with Haddotin, but the implied incestuous content with Hankcon. It is established in canon that Connor reminds Hank of his son, and actually refers to Connor as "son" in game. To say they're in a romantic/sexual relationship when Hank (and Connor) clearly views their relationship as familial is just gross.
haddock is older than tintin, tintin is older than chang... there are some massive age differences at play here at any rate lol. shipping doesn't fit tintin series IMHO
I honestly prefer oc shipping over tintin x canon. But I still dabble in occasional tintin x chang because they're both kids around the same age. Haddock is a man in his 40's or 50's while Tintin is still a teen.
Do yall think tintin does ballet
Yes, but frowny-faced and holding guns.
Can't even imagine what that would look like
Do yall think tintin does ballet
captain haddock holding up “baby-face” tintin: behold, a man.
Tintin’s unfortunateToxic fanbase: “I’m gonna do NSFW of Tintin and Haddock”
Moi, un intellectuel:
Oh my god thank you all for 200 followers!!!!
I love yall
tintin is clearly meant to be way older than chang lol
You mean like Haddock is also clearly meant to be older than Tintin?
