so i mentioned the idea of a modern au on my multimuse and one of my touhou girls might be a vtuber but i said i wouldn’t make it sanae right

i think i was lying, i might have a vtuber!sanae au... if anyone can guess which holo girl i’d base her on, i’ll be mildly impressed lol

As soon as Sanae exclaims for Sakuya to stop, the knives that were already thrown freeze mid-air. They linger for a bit before reeling back to where they originally came from, as if someone hit a rewind button. Sakuya’s eyes turn back to blue and she slightly pouts.

“So, you’re not here to fight me. Maybe you should’ve thought about that before flinging danmaku towards my direction.” Almost in a whining tone, Sakuya mumbles, “I really wanted to cut someone today…”

“If it’s not for combat, then why are you throwing danmaku at unsuspecting people? Spreading spring cheer, is it? I didn’t know Lily White was taking auditions.”

“P-Phew... I-I’m sorry about that, Sakuya! Honestly, it was just for a bit of extra excitement. I mean, danmaku gets your heart racing for spring, right?”

“...Okay, I don’t really know what I’m doing. I sort of... switched jobs with Lily for a while, so I came to announce that it’s spring... well, that it’s still spring, seeing as it’s mid-May.”

“It’s embarrassing, so I just tried copying the way Lily does it.” Hence the danmaku. “I guess that was no good, huh...”

“…But hey, you said you were thinking of leaving Gensokyo? Like, actually?”

“L-- Leaving Gensokyo? No-- No-- What are you saying? I couldn’t possibly do that...” Well. She supposes that maybe she could, but she doesn’t want to.

“You’ve gotten the wrong idea. Gensokyo is the best thing that’s happened to me, I couldn’t... I only meant I’d leave the shrine. And not even permanently. It’s really nothing so serious.”

“Y-Yeah, that’s pretty much it...” Sanae sighs. “I-It’s just a little embarrassing, that’s all! I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it in no time...”

“I wonder if the spring cheer would get across better if I used danmaku, like Lily...?”

“Actually, I agreed to take her job of announcing spring while she takes over for me.” And maintaining spring levels, whatever that means. “It’s only a fair trade, so I will do it, but I might need to find something I can actually get paid for as well...”
