It's the cataclysm between ticks of time
i do not know how to speak anymore
i'm reading walt whitman (finally) and i can't help but go back to ethel cain's pulldrone poem/spoken word. there's a similar pull towards the "essence" and energy of words, unafraid for a line to go on incredibly long until the words feel like buzzing of some sort of pantheist god ("for every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you"). gorgeous stuff.
"The Wings" by artist Choi Xooang.
god damn it, new kelsey lu album is absolutely gorgeous. her vocal layering, gigantic musical crescendos. reminds me in many ways of ethel's nettles, especially the slightly liminal, ambient sound effects and the use of musical saws.
perverts segment is NOT a bathroom break >:|
i've been obsessing with the poetry book "soft science" by franny choi. the body and the technological, the dirty and sterile, this has everything. this is a part of the poem "chatroulette"
saw obsession for the third time tonight. greatest score of the decade, i cried this go around. my golden rule of horror is that if you want it to be scary, it has to be sad, and cast and crew nailed it. i love movies.
ill always stand by the idea that the scariest feeling is being in deep sadness and alienation which seemingly doesn't have an end or an exit. scarier than any jumpscare or murderer.
Perverts
literally there's nothing quite like ethel cain's perverts. no other art piece can creep up on you like that and deliver a sudden crash of sounds that feel like a bad trip which you can't run away from, which immediately pulls you in and doesn't let go. loveeeeee so much
i can't write a SINGLE LINE omg guys i think im not a poet anymore 💔
