“This was actually as far as I got” He admitted, golden eyes glancing around the park filled with children and their exhausted looking parents. He’d seen the announcement for the new facility at work and it was the first thing that came to mind. Though as uneven eyes scanned the large park, a myriad of ideas were starting to pour into his mind as his gaze fell on the assortment of equipment that littered the sand.

“Kids aren’t that bad” he shrugged, a laugh falling from his lips though he cut off the moment his scan fell on a bright red wagon that was sitting off the side, seemingly forgotten from days previous if the small puddle of rainwater from the night before was any indication. A large grin found his lips as his gaze turned to one that both he and his friend knew all to well.

“Hey bruh, wanna take a ride?”

To say he was expecting such an answer from his long-time friend was an understatement. A lazy smirk curved his lips as he shot the other a knowing look -- one that spoke of amusement and mischief. 

“Ohoho, I like your idea,” he responded slyly, anticipating that the owl-like male probably had something up his sleeve already. “First to the wagon wins!” Throwing words into the wind, Kuroo immediately took off, getting a head start in their mock race.

[Text to Kenma: Don’t move. Wait for me at your faculty building. Omw.]

His phone chimed with a peculiar tone that was unlike his usual. The 8-bit theme song was a specialized customization that told the male all he needed to know with regards of the sender of the text. 

Hands lax in his pockets, Kuroo shuffled across the gigantic campus of Harpwood University, taking the shortest routes to the destination he had in mind. Having entered the University years prior, Kuroo was familiar with the place as he was the back of his hand. While the ability to find his way around the campus blind was an overstatement, but he knew almost every building, every nook and cranny for a nice, undisturbed rest between classes.

Perhaps that would be something Kenma would be interested in, he thought to himself as he neared the place of meeting that the two had agreed on. Well, at least he did. 

He was not disappointed, spotting one with a tuft of blond hair with dark roots from a distance away. 

“Kenma!” Calling out with a wide grin, Kuroo sauntered up to the other as he rested his hand upon dual-toned tresses, ruffling them slightly. “Haven’t seen you in awhile. You grew a little taller, didn’t you!”

Ok I’m done Never had three words come at a more appropriate time. When his attempt to physcially assault the other into amusing him had failed, he’d sought amusement elsewhere, and had just allowed himself to start snooping into his friend’s closet when he heard the announcement that he was finished.

Pulling himself free from where he’d just began spelunking amidst the shoes and clothes that had been piled for who knew how long, a large grin filled his face, gold eyes meeting amber as the owlish man didn’t bother keep the excitement from his features.

“Perfect bro. Where to?” He asked, not really caring where they went, the usually found something to occupy themselves regardless of location. “I heard the opened a new park near the elementary school, wanna go check it out?”

He returned the owlish male’s smirk of mischief with one of his own, a silent consent to the other’s plan and idea. “Seems like you’ve gotten everything planned out, didn’t you?” He jabbed at the other with his accusatory words, yet the relaxed stance and easy smile revealed otherwise. 

Upon their arrival at the park, a single brow arched at the horde of children that were scattered across his field of vision. He couldn’t say it was an unexpected situation, but now he wasn’t quite sure of what his friend had planned for the two. 

“Teaching children five days a week and you’re still not tired of them?” His voice dripped with teasing sarcasm, arms crossed over his torso. “So what do you suggest we do, smart guy?”

Boredom. It was not a state that Bokuto thrived in. Someone who liked to constantly be doing something, to be moving, active… It was torture to sit painfully still in his apartment alone while he waited for Kuroo to finish doing… Whatever it was he was doing.

The other had promised they could do something that weekend, but ever since he’d arrived at his friend’s apartment, Kuroo was doing something on his phone that he had insisted was important. He had relented, and had been trying to amuse himself in the small bedroom for almost an hour and a half at that point. His phone had lost it’s appeal, so had any of Kuroo’s books he might pretend to try to read, and he’d been playing sock basketball with the laundry basket for long enough.

“Bro! Seriously! What the hell are you doing, I am going to die of boredom” He all but screamed, getting up to flop over-dramatically across Kuroo’s head as he just gripped to his two toned hair in frustration. “What is so important on your phone?! Can you do phone things and walk? I want to leave this room I am going to suffocate if we stay in here any longer” He whined, his face pulling into an annoyed pout as he stared up at the other, his golden eyes burning with annoyance as he all but wiggled on the bed like a toddler trapped in a man’s body.

School was awful.

Despite having worked his way through the four grueling years as an undergraduate, Kuroo had not imagined this life for himself when he decided to apply for graduate school. Sure, there had been lesser classes, but the research work had piled and now he was drowning in it.

He had been on the phone, corresponding with a fellow research teammate when a ball of destructive energy, in the form of his long-time best friend-- no, his brother -- barreled into his shabby apartment unannounced. I’m in the middle of something important, Bruh. He had attempted to reason with the unreasonable. Just ten minutes and we’ll go wreck some shit. 

Kuroo was growing impatient by the minute, fingers drumming against the desk as he awaited for the person at the end of the line to provide him with the information he needed. Before he could open his mouth to demand for the other to hurry up, a sharp scream startled the male as he turned around, wondering if Bokuto had somehow, miraculously gotten himself into trouble in a room that was almost trouble-proofed.

“...Okay, I’m done.” The statement referred to both his conversation with the correspondent and the other’s whining. Pushing himself away from the desk, Kuroo ended the call as he stood from his seat. 

“Let’s go do stuff.”
