Travel Adventures! Part 6

Back to Japan again (I just can’t seem to stay away)! I’m doing a monthlong internship in Hokkaido and then will spend almost a week playing in Tokyo!

Got home safe and sound!  The car’s unpacked, my apartment didn’t burn down while I was gone thanks to my awesome friend who housesat for me, and it’s good to be home!  I’m looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight.

And now, with this plushie selfie, while sitting on my bed, my trip officially comes to a close.  It’s been a crazy 41 days filled with all sorts of emotional ups and downs.  But I made new friends, spent time with old friends, and learned a ton of new things.  So, in the end, I’d say it was all worth it.  Thanks for following along!

Getting into my car after so long has me wondering if I even remember how to drive.  ^^;  Let’s just cross our fingers and hope I can manage to make it home in one piece, okay?

I’m almost completely back to normal today!  To celebrate, we went out on a brunch date to IHOP!  I got stuffed french toast.  Omnomnomnom.  That’s one of my favorite things at IHOP.  

Doesn’t he make the cutest faces in pictures?  :P 

Sadly, I have to go home tonight.  TAT  I have to unpack from Japan so that I can repack for Africa.  Then I’ve got to drive up to San Francisco on Tuesday so I can fly to Africa with my mom and sister on Friday...for another month.  TAT  I DON’T WANT TO BE AWAY FROM MY BOYFRIEND FOR ANOTHER MONTH!  *sniff*

Day 40: August 30 end

For obvious reasons, today is super chill.  My boyfriend and I have pretty much just spent the whole day at home.  He’s been playing video games and I’ve been switching between napping, staying hydrated, and watching him play.

Oh yeah, the doctors have no idea what was wrong with me.  My heart is fine and they couldn’t find evidence of any illness or infection.  I’ve pretty much just been ordered to take things easy.  As long as my boyfriend’s here with me, I’m down for that!

We did go to Starbucks at one point, although I wasn’t allowed to get anything with caffeine in it.  

My boyfriend and I also did a lucky trade in Pokemon Go!  We became lucky friends while I was in Japan and have been waiting until I got back.  I traded him my shiny Geodude (last year, he graciously traded me his shiny Snubbull) for one of his Gible.  Now I have a lucky Gible!  Yay!  I would’ve preferred the IVs to have reset higher, but oh well!  It’s better than the other one I’ve got.

Day 39: August 29 end

So guess what I got to spend my first full day back stateside doing?  Being sick in the ER!  Lol.

My boyfriend finally managed to get me out of bed around noon.  But then I suddenly got sick and briefly lost consciousness in the bathroom.  I managed to pull myself back up, but fell through the door and just sprawled on the tile in the hallway.  My boyfriend ended up calling 911 and, when the ambulance dudes got there, my temperature was only 96 degrees (even though I had the chills and was sweating), my blood pressure was low, and my heart rate was in the 50s (note: my resting heart rate is usually in the 70s).  They were worried that something might be wrong with my heart and hooked me up to an IV and stuck a bunch of cables to my chest before loading me in the ambulance.  Also, when they found out that I’d just gotten back from Japan the day before, they gave me a filtered mask to wear!

The first hospital we went to was super busy so we had to go to a different one.  Then I was put in pseudo quarantine (I say “pseudo” because I was just in my own room with the door always closed and my boyfriend, when he got there, was only allowed to leave to go to the bathroom), had a bunch more cables stuck to my chest, had blood drawn, and slept for 3-4 hours until the fire alarm woke me up just in time to get discharged.  I opened my eyes to see firemen standing outside my door and all throughout the lobby because a fire had broken out at one of the loading docks and started to spread to other parts of the hospital (they got it under control by the time we left).  

We’re back home now and it’s chicken soup and Pedialite for dinner.

Day 38: August 28 end

That was the fastest I’ve ever made it through Customs and Immigration before.  For one, we were the ONLY international flight.  The baggage claim area was absolutely dead.  Also, they did Customs and Immigration at the same time.  I mean, that makes sense, though, when you’re such a small airport.  

And now I’m reunited with my wonderful, amazing, beloved boyfriend!  <3 <3 <3 <3  Our first stop after dropping my bags off at his place?  California burritos!  OMG SO GOOD!!!!!!  

Now to spend the rest of the day cuddling, reading more manga, and watching my boyfriend play video games.  I couldn’t ask for a better day!

Lunch is...a hamburger.  They didn’t even give us another option.  Nope, everyone got hamburgers.

If my stomach wasn’t eating itself, I would not have eaten it.  The sauce was good but that’s about it.  Not impressed, JAL, not impressed with this one.  I wonder how much Mos Burgers paid to hijack an entire meal.

We’re about three hours away from San Diego right now.  I’ve been catching up on months and months of manga and just happened to glance out the window. Isn’t it so pretty?
